Question About THAT special edition console that is going to come out on october 29

I work at the store, but I’ve barely been given any hours for the week the Zelda console comes out. I asked at my store if they could set one aside for me so I could just come in and pay for it on launch day, but I was told there was an official notice stating that only 20% of those consoles could be "reserved." Does anyone know if that’s true? I’m asking because I’m not the manager, and I’d like to know if this is actually the case or just a cheap excuse from my boss to avoid setting one aside for me.

I ordered this ps5 and picked it up same morning but it still says “In Progress”. It’s been 11 days now and I would like to know if it shows the same on their end!? Will there be a 2nd charge or a refund? Or maybe they’re meant to stay like this?

Vent/Rant I really don’t get why people trade stuff in into GameStop

and just training a game it’s worth $10 on PriceCharting and they gave me two bucks worth…

Just seems insane for them to pay so low.

luckily I know it doesn’t work

Question What’s up with GameStop employees saying they only have pre-owned consoles?

Went into GameStop to buy a brand-new PS5, but the employee told me they only had pre-owned consoles available. The weird thing is that GameStop’s website showed new PS5s in stock at that exact location.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is GameStop’s online inventory just inaccurate, or is there another reason employees would say they only have pre-owned consoles when new ones are supposedly available?
Just genuinely curious what’s going on.

Vent/Rant I mean that's a you problem...

• Upvotes

By no means will I ever put on a Cape for GS. It would take alot to do so especially with the idiocy we've been enduring as of late. And I know the next statement is going to ruffle a few feathers.. sorry not sorry

But the one thing I smh at is people who come on here and complain about how much we get paid.. its a constant rant "Gamestop pays shit..blah blah blah" well no shit.. but lets be real We ALL interviewed some of us conduct interviews.. And in those interviews as an applicant atleast in one's ive done the question is asked "Do you have any questions?" I would think everyone here asked How much do we get paid.. and if you didnt ask that amount is in the Offer we get sent.. so In the end We Chose to take the amount we get Paid the pay wasnt a "Haha Gotcha Bitch" Surprise we allowed ourselves to be exploited for x amount.. so to me with all the other things out of our control I can say yeah that's a viable Rant continuing to cry about GS pay is kinda like.. thats a You Problem you agreed to that.

Vent/Rant I’m thinking about quitting

(19M) GameStop used to be a job I loved. Even the “difficult” parts were still enjoyable, and it’s been my favorite job I’ve had so far. Now, I’m miserable. This is my third manager, and it is suffocating. Everyone they hire sucks, everyone who was good at the job quit, and I feel so alone. Everything has gotten overly focused on performance, and I don’t think it is fair to prioritize online orders over customers that are physically in the store needing help. I used to have great flexibility as a student, now, I have to sacrifice class attendance and my grades to make it to work. My last two stores and managers were never like this. Plus, the pay is awful.

Help a man out and convince me not to quit! 🙏

Question Do we actually get bonuses as RK?

• Upvotes

My sl says that for keyholders, our bonus is based off of BOPS orders, but then when I bring up never getting anything he just says “blame your coworkers for letting BOPS orders sit”. But like to my knowledge we all get BOPS orders done within 5 minutes.

I’m still relatively new (as in a couple months) so I’m just curious.

Vent/Rant New asl ruined the store and my enjoyment for the job, so I’m quitting right before peak

• Upvotes

I’m genuinely the only one aside from my sl who does any work. I feel somewhat bad for my leader as i like him, though unfortunately i was sexually harassed on shift and he continued scheduling me to close alone and didn’t share with me an armed robbery that occurred at my store.

I feel even worse for the guests who are going to consistently get their products late or sold out from under them, bc our new asl doesn’t know how to do distro or check if things are preordered

Anyways, fuck you new asl :p enjoy the shitshow

Vent/Rant Only 2 months in...

I am a recently hired employee. I started on September 9th. I got told almost immediately by another employee "you've made a grave mistake" and I honestly should have taken that to heart and turned around right then and there.

I'm so unbelievably tired of metrics that are damn near impossible to meet for my tiny ass store being shoved down my throat by the SM's and DM. I got pulled into the back office by my SM the other day who proceeded to tell me that "this job needs to be your ONLY priority and nothing outside of this job matters". I'm a RK that was supposed to be part time working almost 40+ hours a week because I'm the only other employee there besides my manager with a damn key. I'm being burnt out on a level that I didn't think I'd ever get to and I'm sick to my stomach constantly with anxiety thinking about the next time I have to work a shift. But I can't quit until I find another job and I am desperate to do so.

This company does not care about you as a human being, only how many pros you should be getting. I will forever be telling people to avoid working for this company at all costs.
