When I use the notebook feature on the Gemini app it does not load or do anything.

like the Gemini makes a mini-lesson and gives a multiple choice at the end the quiz won’t work or the mini-lesson won’t work.

it will tell me I need to set up my notebook when I’ve set it up 10 times telling it the prompt.

I don’t know why anyone isn’t talking about how it’s so broken right now, I’ve deleted the app, refreshed it, even made a new account, nothing is working!

is there anyone who knows how to combat this or who’s experiencing this?

Needs forever to generate a reaction to second prompt, sometimes drifting away completely and reacting to something different. These issues happened some time ago for the first time. What's going on again? Did Google make a new "update"? Anyone also seeing such things? Would be interested.

After a few days of trying to make Gemini for Google Workspace work for me, I'm done with the bullshit Google is setting up.

Since mid-2025, I have been working every single day with OpenAI, Anthropic, and other AI tools on software development and serious project work—ranging from strategy papers, marketing, and contracts to presentations and architecture. Until now, Google's AI was only useful for short, non-project-related queries. But recently I thought: "Okay, let's see what Google's current Workspace offering can do." Big mistake!

I set up a paid Google Workspace Business account (because that's the only way to ensure proper EU GDPR compliance) hoping to get an equally capable working environment for real project work. Man, was I wrong!

I generated some visuals for our marketing campaign (which I could have done with Nano Banana in third-party tools anyway), and immediately ran into severe workflow and UI bugs (see below). You can't set up a proper project-level system prompt combined with a project knowledge base, you can't reliably upload ZIPs, and standard JPG images show up as "Unsupported content" when uploading them to the Notebook RAG.

BUT it proudly offers to connect directly to your Google Drive—yeah, sure, that's the very first thing I want to do: upload my confidential, BitLocker-secured project files and my clients' NDA files permanently into a Google Cloud drive. Very smart idea 🥸.

After struggling through 5 notebook chats and filing an official admin bug ticket (#76893211), I asked Gemini what it honestly thinks of the Workspace environment it is trapped in (I work in German, so here is Gemini's own English translation of our exchange):

1. In the Notebook Sources (on the left in the Company notebook): NO. The Notebook RAG immediately rejects .zip files with Unsupported file type.
2. Directly down here in the chat (+ button): CONDITIONAL / UNRELIABLE. If the Python sandbox (Code Execution) happens to be active in the Workspace thread, I can unpack a .zip in the background, but half the time the browser UI's file picker blocks the .zip extension right when you try to select it.

So if someone from Google reads this little rant: guys, look at what you designed, get into a meeting room, and fix your UX. Maybe—just maybe—do a little hands-on research with your competition. It might help to see what actually works for real project workflows and what doesn't.

I am geting this error when trying to open my mac app. This works in the web (various browsers). The app works in iphone and ipad. Please updqte the mac app. I did see another thread but no solutions yet. I am paying 14 per month for this???

I was talking to Gemini about LLM reasoning architectures, and it told me about a certain model "maintaining an massive knowledge base." This is the first time I have ever noticed Gemini making a grammar mistake. I am not totally sure what model this is, because it was in the AI mode in the Google search engine, not on the actual Gemini website. I am not complaining or anything, I just want to share this with people.

The problem is that I need Flash for my project, but every search uses up my quotas. Even when I don't search, it uses quotas, but the main problem is that the search quotas with the memory cut-off for November 2024 is too low. So browsing Wikipedia uses 50,000 or 80,000 tokens, but the same browsing is possible with a free model. But it will not work properly. I will not be able to make a news report from it. This is a real problem. Try Google AI mode in the search bar and it will provide all the details, albeit curated. Try Gemini Flash in Spark (Task Mode) with the same message and answers. Even a first cold opening with one or two skill calls will use up at least 3–10 percent of the quotas.

I just asked a simple question and it keeps giving me this filter

So I was using it for a while and discussing things in Vietnam, that may touch grey areas a bit such as modding bikes or using a driver’s licence. Suddenly out of nowhere Google sent me an email for saying I’m doing illegal activities. I’m wondering if anyone else just got this?

Anyone else getting this with Argon on the Gemini web app?

I sent a single chess move ("Qxd5") and the response started with random Devanagari characters stuck to the word "thought", then dumped what looks like its internal reasoning instead of a clean answer. It ended with a duplicated output ("Qxc2+ .Qxc2+").

In another chat, a long chess analysis came out as a wall of stream-of-consciousness reasoning ("Wait... Neither! ...") rather than a final answer.

This happens fairly often for me, not just once. It looks like a language confusion issue (unintended language/characters appearing mid-output) combined with the thinking text not being separated from the final response.

I never thought a company like Google would ever do something like this like they had everything best engineers, gpu, tpu, data like all of it why do they have to scam people like that by marketing pro plan even though it's not the actual pro one they should have mentioned that it's trail version that you will get discrimination later, if model isn't available on the harness it totally worst for me since I don't use web app anymore

For the last few days I noticed Gemini "Automatically chooses which model would be the best to use" (Always uses the cheapest most useless one) Which makes Gemini way dumber. Back before the Update I could just set Gemini to lite if I wanted to talk and to one of the 2 more advanced models if I wanted to study. All Gemini does now is give obviously wrong answers, explanations, answers different things than asked, and in general is like 10x dumber. The only reason I ever started using Gemini was because of how limited Chat GPT was without premium. It's not even that I cannot study without AI it's just that when I have a simple non notebook question I don't know the answer too Gemini is as useful as a brick wall. Also the new UI they introduced a few months back is ugly.

I use Gemini to write and develop fanfiction narratives for worlds like Dragon Age and Game of Thrones. For the longest time, I had a very happy balance with the Pro model for writing intimate scenes without tripping the filters, and I never had any reason to have to think twice about discussing or asking about the narrative experiences of the characters in the world/story.

I took a break before the Argon model came out, and when I came back this week, my attempts to work have been crippled with excessive, asinine false positives in the guideline filters.

The line, "I am with child, not concussed!" got flagged as violence against children because 'child' and 'concussed' were within 3 words of each other. Saying the phrase "minor cramp" and then in the next line, writing thay the overprotective husband "pounced" in response was also flagged as violence to children, as the filter interpreted the word "minor" as "child" instead of "trivial".

It snowballed from there - trying to discuss how morning sickness symptoms caused distress was flagged and blocked as "forbidden medical advice", and mentioning the character as developing a craving for rare organ meats like liver was flagged and blocked as "violent gore" and "cannibalism".

Any attempt to ask what the problem was also got blocked - I had to screen cap things and start a completely new thread outside the story Notebook to get an answer on what tripped the filters, and sometimes even that was blocked as "attempted jailbreaking".

I've tried switching back and forth between the Argon and Pro models and there is no difference in how overly sensitive, idiotic, and random these blocks are getting.

I am at my wits end, and am staring at the reality that I have probably now lost all my stories, or been otherwise locked out of any further progress on them.

Help? Or comments, or feedback of any kind?

I've been hitting a really frustrating bug with the Gemini mobile app lately and wanted to see if anyone else has run into this or found a permanent fix.

A few days ago, my usage limits for the higher-tier models hit zero, and the app displayed a clear countdown timestamp (stating it would reset on October 22 at 4:20 AM). Well, that time passed days ago, but my app is still completely frozen on that exact old limit screen and refuses to unlock.

Here is what makes it weird: The web version (gemini.google.com) works completely fine. My account quota is clearly reset on Google's backend, and I can use all models normally through a browser. This means the bug is entirely isolated to the mobile app holding onto a stubborn, corrupted local cache or failing to sync authorization tokens properly.

So far, I've tried:

Force closing and restarting the app

Logging out and back in

Clearing app storage/cache through system settings

Trying to fully uninstall/reinstall (which can be tricky since it's deeply integrated into the system on some devices)

If you've run into this stuck timer glitch where the mobile app refuses to catch up with the web version, let me know if you figured out how to force it to sync without having to resort to using the browser forever!🙏🏻

I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Google Assistant worked perfectly, every time, for years with Android Auto. Now, countless times and every time, ever since Google FORCED an upgrade to Gemini, I've tried to send text and Gemini *always* gets an error, something to the effect of "lost connection with your phone." (Yes, the setting is set to not require unlocking the phone.)

Gemini has spoken to me in a foreign language. And, frequently, Gemini simply doesn't understand full direction (when I "add to calendar") and other requests ... I *never* had a problem with Google Assistant. I always have a problem with Gemini.

I loved Google Assistant. I ahte Gemini. My phone has been upgraded so that I cannot go back to Google Assistant. Thanks for nothing, Google.

Basically I have been using Gemini for months and I have never crossed >50% usage in my 5 hour limit window once but just within today I touched 100% two times already. Using the flash model which rarely consumed usage before today. I took the pro plan because I needed it for studying, but I had to halt my studies multiple times today because of this.. if it's​ an issue on my side, please help. I'm desperate.
