A little afternoon project…
We’re still having drought conditions, along with higher than normal temperatures and very low humidity (it’s 35% as I’m typing and the dry skin is driving me crazy!), which is made all the worse by high winds. I’ve gotten all the plants moved into the greenhouse - in anticipation of lower temps. We’ve already seen overnight lows of 31°, but the next afternoon we’re up into the mid 80s, and no predicted rain until maybe Saturday and Sunday, but even then it’s only 20%. We’ve not had any significant rainfall in two months. ☹️
The humidity in the greenhouse has been lower than I’d like, so I’ve been using a fogger purchased years ago for a decorative pool, and it’s done fair, the biggest problem being having to be vigilant about refilling the basin. It has lovely colored lights that cycle, but that’s not much of a bonus.
I purchased a humidifier kit for use with a 5 gallon bucket off eBay that arrived a day early, so got it completed and set up within a short period of time. It’s already raised the humidity level from 43% to 52%.
Fingers crossed!
