Wolfbox Hardwire Kit Troubleshooting - Wrangler JLU 2019 & Wolfbox G930 Rear Review Mirror
Hey all, looking for some advice here. A couple quick things about me -- I'm a newbie at DIY, and this is my first time installing something on my own onto my Jeep. My Jeep is a 2019 Wrangler JLU.
Last weekend, I installed a Wolfbox G930 Rear View Mirror onto my Jeep. Everything went pretty well -- got the camera, GPS, and power wiring all lined up underneath the trim. The camera and GPS are working fine. The mirror works find when plugged into the cigarette lighter. The problem I'm trying to solve: The mirror does not work when plugged into the hardwire kit.
Hoping someone can help. I've done a lot of testing and my testing would lead me to believe that I have done everything right and the USB-C port on the hardwire kit is faulty. But I just can't believe that the guy who has never touched a fuse box before in his life has done everything right, and the issue is the hardware 😂 I'm sure I got something wrong along the way.
So here's how I installed and tested it:
- ACC power is plugged into F52. 5A fuse in the Wolfbox spot, 20A in the second spot.
- BATT power is plugged into F98. 5A fuse in the Wolfbox spot, 10A in the second spot.
- Ground is on the ring terminal on an existing factory ground point beside the battery
Tests so far:
- F98 (BATT): ~12V with the Jeep off, at the tap output and on the Wolfbox side of the bullet connector. Holds ~12V with the kit and mirror connected.
- F52 (ACC): 0V off, ~12V in ACC/RUN, same on both sides of the bullet connector. Holds ~12V with everything connected.
- Ground: Yellow wire to the Wolfbox ground point reads ~12V, and the connection is mechanically tight.
- Voltage drop: ~0V across both bullet connectors with the kit connected.
See image below for how it's hooked up. I've seen this same setup on another forum and it worked for them. Not sure what I did wrong! Appreciate any advice!
