I dont want to cause a panic. I would rather hear this as a hoax or fake news. I very much want just laugh on it but im with a 2 year old.

im seeing post in FB and from BBC to stock up foods for at least 3 days. Now i was in coop and the shelves are empty im still thinking its because of the storm. I prep small sets of food but wanted to see how everyone is taking this news seriosly?

Contains 6 webcams if you fancy watching the storm play out.

Got fed up flicking between BBC Jersey, gov.je, the JEP and Facebook to keep up, so I put together https://storm.jsylabs.uk

It groups the updates into a timeline (warnings, airport and harbour, power cuts, closures, damage), and every point links back to the original source. It's got the Met forecast for tonight too, and it's updated every couple of hours until Friday night.

It's not official, so please follow gov.je and the emergency services for advice. Hopefully it saves a bit of scrolling though. Stay safe tonight!

Basically I plan on going to Jersey in late November. But I don't want to renew my passport just for this trip.

Do yall know if the day trip is for the same day or for 24 hour ?

Eastern Record Fair in St Clement, on Sunday 22nd November, 10am–4pm.

If you’re into collecting vinyl, CDs or other music memorabilia, or know someone who is, come along and have a browse! A few weeks before Christmas so the perfect time to find that gift for a music lover in your life.

We’ve got some great names from the local record scene setting up stalls. Including White Label Records, SeeDee Jons, Music Scene and more! With plenty of new and second hand records, CDs & tapes to dig through.

There’ll also be musical instrument displays and clothing for sale from Island Music. Plus demonstrations from Red House Music School showcasing their music lessons and talents.

Hopefully it’ll be a great day for music lovers, collectors and anyone who enjoys a bit of crate digging!

Does anyone here know of which schools or clubs host after school D&D groups? (not the gaming hub)

I'm looking to reach out to them to offer services for 3d printed terrain to help bring the games to life

I've been building an app about Jersey for a long while and it went live on the App Store and Google Play this morning. It's called Jersey Quest.

You walk to a real place - a castle, a dolmen, a tower, a beach - get close and collect it, like a stamp in a passport. 140+ places across all twelve parishes, each with a short history and an audio guide you play on the spot, and many with their name in Jèrriais, recorded by Geraint Jennings at Jersey Heritage. Cards, trophies and ranks along the way, trails you can follow or build yourself.

Free, no account, nothing to buy. English and French.

What I'd like from people who know the island: which places are missing? Not the castles - the quiet ones you'd send a friend to. I'll add the good ones.

Hi everyone!

I’m a license plate collector from Slovakia, and I’m currently trying to expand my collection with plates from all around the world. I would love to have a plate from Jersey!

I was just wondering, if there is anyone who has an unnecessary license plate lying around in a somewhere that they’d be willing to send me? Of course I can cover the shipping costs.

Thanks a lot :)

Hi everyone!

I'm visiting Jersey solo and tonight is my last night on the island. I'd love to make the most of it, meet some people, have a few drinks, and enjoy some good conversation rather than spend my final evening sitting alone in my hotel room at the Grand.

I know the weather is absolutely grim tonight, with all the wind and rain, but I'm hoping there are still some decent places to head out to where people are friendly and up for a chat.

Any recommendations for pubs, bars or somewhere with a good atmosphere? And if anyone fancies meeting up for a drink or is happy to let a solo traveller join their evening, even better!

I'm easy-going, enjoy a good conversation and am happy to meet people from all walks of life.

Would be nice to give Jersey a memorable send-off. Help a traveller out! 😄🍻

I am looking to get a feel for what the queer scene is like in Jersey .Are there specific LGBTQ+ friendly venues, regular meetups, or social groups that are worth checking out? Is the community pretty active, or is it more tight-knit and low-key?many thanks

I'm planning on going to the jersey opera house for the ballet around christmas time, do i have to dress formally or is it more casual? can i wear trainers or is it a dress and heels situations? any info or advice would be appreciated!

Coronation park recently got an extension added where the hospital used to be, it was listed as a “pump track” which is the complete wrong use of language considering it is a running track. Im sure that alot of people were expecting a place to ride their bikes because the main part of the park doesn’t allow bikes either. Not just that it isnt specifically for bikes, they have a sign saying to “walk your wheels” while it is fun for what it is, i think they should have done their research.

Can somebody please tell me where i'll be taken on my driving test will i be taken on avenue?

I split my time between London and Jersey (work in London, family in Jersey). Want to buy a flat in Jersey but can only afford to if I can let it out when I'm not there, which is about half the time.

I'd rather make it available to Jersey beans as housing is a mess for locals. I am assuming there are many Jersey folk who are also back and forth a lot.

Anyone ever hear of people doing like a part time let?

Looking for some advice. Have been trying to sell my property for a while now with no luck. Has anyone been down the route of renting out and then acquiring a second mortgage to buy another property to live in? Not loving the thought of being a landlord but running out of options. Anyone else in this situation or have any advice? Thank you!

Thanks all, we have a toddler and currently in a one bed flat hence the need to move so desperately! Probably better to sell at a loss than to take on another mortgage

Hi. My wife and I are visiting for a Halloween/40th birthday celebration.

We are planning Dia de Los Muertos outfits and I really want to surprise her with a professional sugar skull make up.

Is there anybody on the island that would offer that service. Would need them to come to our hotel in Gorey.

Maybe even a really good kids face painter would be able to help!

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Profits double at Jersey Water – helped by bill increases and high consumption

Why they don't use the profit to reinvest? Why they need to increase the price, when they had a huge profit?

I thought it might be interesting to readily demonstrate just how far the finance industry has fallen from it's pre-regulation peak.

In order to make sense of the Jersey Finance figures I have converted the total value of bank deposits in Jersey, into an equivalent number of tonnes of gold at the gold price of the time.

Given the amount of money creation (aka quantitive easing and all manner of alternate euphemisms) that has taken place since 2007, I thought it was important to have a proper basis for comparison.

It may be no surprise to you to see that the peak of the industry coincided with the creation of the JFSC. Nothing kills industry like government involvement.
