Discussion The Amy Acton case highlights something that needs to be discussed in more depth across the society; automatic custody to the biological mother she experienced horrific abuse and then she lived with her biological father where she thrived
The biological father Gerald Stearn of Amy Acton reported the sexual and physical abuse of his daughter and son to the authorities. This reporting allowed charges to brought against Cledith Arthur. Arthur was indicted and was to be tried for this crime. Amy’s mother in 1978 lost custody of her kids as a result of the indictments.
Amy and her brother’s father Gerald took custody of his kids. These kids grew up in a stable and healthy home and both of them thrived and achieved great success in their lives.
My question is simple why did the biological mother get automatic custody of the kids?
Why not start to give fathers an equal opportunity to prove they can raise their own kids in a healthy and loving environment?
Why are fathers given custody only in horrendous situations like this? The biological mother has been proven to be utterly detestable based upon her Ramaswamy ad.
The father’s advocacy for his kids saved their lives. The abuse would have continued had the father not brought charges against the step father.
The biological mother did nothing to protect her kids instead she abandoned her children and stood by a pedophile who raped her daughter from age 9 to 12.
