I’ve journaled off and on my entire life. It never stuck until 2024. Suddenly my daily journaling practice cemented itself. I may miss a day here or there, but it doesn’t happen often.

Today, I'll be completing my seventh journal notebook in three years!

because I do!
I felt a little spark late last night and decided to just go for it. This is a normal habit for me haha
Also, please no relationship advice, me and the blue spot are doing just fine! ♡

i've noticed my entries look completely different when i'm writing through something versus just venting about my day. sometimes it's messier, sometimes it's smaller, and i'm curious if that's just me being weird or if other people experience this too.

I'm so burnt out. I'm so tired. I want to run away and go full no-contact for an entire month.

Finding a title for every entry is becoming increasingly difficult, though. 😂
I’m thinking of calling this little series Notes from a Limpy Brain. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and so on. Or you tell…
I don’t know if this sub allows series like this, but I thought I’d ask before I get too attached to the name. 🐒
Anyway, here’s Day 3! :)

for the moment, honest is the best I can do.. would love to decorate and make it pretty eventually ✨ I've only ever used journaling as a tool to quiet my mind, essentially a stream of consciousness. this subreddit is my motivation to try something different

I'm writing in a way that can be impossible to read for someone else. But it's so relaxing just let the hand free and fill the page.

This has never happened in my life! I usually write freely first thing in the morning most days. Is it good or bad? I am more active socially now, but I am also more addicted to the computer. Am I hiding from my feelings???? I honestly don't know!

Day 2 of documenting my days through diary comics.
Honestly, I wasn’t in the mood to sit down and write today.
I was so sleepy and had very little motivation to do anything.
But it’s only Day 2, and I know how easily I can start something, leave it midway, and then struggle to come back to it. So I wanted to show up anyway.
I went to the terrace for a walk at 11:30pm, got in around 3–4k steps, and felt a little refreshed. I came back and sat down to write. I had a little more clarity in my thoughts, even though my motivation was still pretty much zero.
I’m not particularly impressed with what I’ve made today, but I still wanted to share it.
I want to get better at expressing my thoughts visually, building my own visual language, and telling stories through words and doodles.
I think I’ve spent a lot of time learning.
I also thought I’d share some pictures from my day alongside the diary pages.
The little things I notice, the things I see on my walks, the things that happen, and even random thoughts that come to me later are all part of this process.
Sometimes I don’t know exactly what makes a thought appear, but I want to get better at noticing and expressing those connections.
Anyway, I’m still figuring this out. I don’t know if these diary comics will get better, or what they’ll turn into. I’m just trying not to abandon the process before I’ve given myself a chance to find out.
Day 2. Still here. :)
Thank you for reading. It means a lot :))

Finished Journal - 10.06.25 - 10.25.26
I do not recommend the 660 page journals on Amazon. I was going through the 280 page Journals in about 4-5 months so I wanted a bigger one. I did fit a whole year in here but it became pretty awkward and the spine is not attached (I do also junk journal and glue things on some pages so I am sure that contributed).
The cover is covered is packing tape to protect the stickers that were rubbing away.
My new one is back to the 280 pages.

I kinda felt like I was rambling and couldn't quite get the journal entry to sound like I wanted, but I still did the thing!

I wrote this the other day. My first entry. The words did flow pretty easily and whilst is boring haha, I loved the process. I found it relaxing and enjoyable.

I have filled about a 3 foot long shelf of old journals going back to 16 years old (I am almost 48). I have been a journal addict most of my life, and almost all the journals I have, have unfilled pages in the back. Many of them are in different styles and sizes with varying covers, some unlined, some lined, some dot grid.
I had the idea that I want to go back through the journals, read them all again, and then in the unfilled pages, make comments reflecting back on that period of my life. Maybe summarize, what my memories are of that time, or how I feel now.
If you were to take on a similar project yourself, how would you fill the blank pages? What questions or prompts would you ask yourself? Any insights, tips, or neat ideas that I might not be considering? How should I delineate then vs now entries in the journal, short of just writing the date at the top of the page?

Llevo un registro de sueños oníricos desde septiembre del 2021. Hoy años después sigo escribiendo mensajes de: otras vidas, otros tiempos. O simplemente mensajes de mí conciencia! Ustedes llevan un Diario así?

Storytime: I'm trying to figure out what notebook I want to use for journaling/commonplacing and I want to write whenever, wherever, so I'm testing out a Leuchtturm pocket notebook right now. I went to pick up my kid from Pre-K today and got there early specifically to have time to write, put the car in Park, happily popped one leg up across the other to use as a writing surface and — BAM — my whole leg was sound asleep within minutes. 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah, I put my feet flat on the floor...but then the problem is angling awkwardly to write, craning my hypermobile-but-rickety old neck, not having a good, high-and-wide-enough surface upon which to write. 🤌🏻
I'm positive I'm not unique in The Struggle™️, hence coming to you all looking for solutions. Please save my sanity and spine. 😂
