Planner Season Survival Guide - Summer/Fall 2026

Hello r/planners! This post is meant to share some tips and info as we all make our decisions on which planner(s) we'll be picking up in 2027. It'll include both some general suggestions and details on releases for some of the more popular brands that get discussed on the sub.

As a reminder, if you'd like to make a post to ask for a planner recommendation, please give us as much info as you can to help guide the suggestions. At a minimum, it would be helpful to know some basics about what style planner you're looking for (bookbound, discs, rings, daily, weekly, etc.), the size range you're interested in, budget, and the country you live in. Telling us a little about your lifestyle will also be helpful; our recommendations for a college student, a working parent, and a retiree may be pretty different.

Recommendation threads tend to get the most responses when they include enough detail to give users a picture of your needs, but if you're looking for something really specific, you'll probably get more responses if you can split your wishlist into must-haves and general preferences.

Planner Season Tips:

  • Once you decide which planner you want, order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Many of the brands recommended here are small businesses with limited stock, and they may sell out of the size/color/layout you're most interested in. They may or may not offer restocks.
  • If you preorder a planner, pay close attention to the estimated delivery timeline. You may want to keep tabs on the brand's social media channels for news or updates. Remember that preorder shipping estimates are based on things going as planned and that delays from the factory or shipping agent may be outside the brand's control.
  • If you want to follow the news about a particular planner, many brands have private Facebook groups that are probably your best resource for this. Signing up for a brand's email newsletter should get you the basics, but the private groups may get extra previews and more detailed information.
  • Keep in mind that many of these businesses will be dealing with a very high volume of orders despite having limited space and staff. That's not to say you shouldn't expect good customer service, but having realistic expectations will help. When ordering during peak planner season, your order will probably take a little longer to pack and ship.
  • If you're a US customer, remember that tariffs may still be causing higher prices this year—even from US sellers, who still need to pay fees on products they order from overseas. The closing of the de minimis exemption also means that you might be charged extra if ordering from a seller outside the US. Don't like that? Contact your federal representatives, and vote in November for candidates who'll prioritize more consumer- and small business-friendly policies. (The specifics can vary depending on what the product is, what country it's coming from, and how they ship, so these fees may already be built into the cost of the planner. When in doubt, look for details!)

I'll update the release info below as I see updates mentioned, but this is not meant to be a comprehensive list of available planners. It's just the most recent info I've come across for brands that tend to get mentioned in r/planners. (I'll be updating as I see users mention releases but won't be individually researching and keeping up with each brand myself, just as a heads up.)

Some planners haven't released much info about their 2027 lineups yet, but more info should be coming out in July-August for most brands.

Companies with some 2027s ready to ship:

  • Hemlock & Oak
  • Nolty
  • Aura Estelle

Preorders are open for:

  • Creffective Paper
  • Faded Chronicle
  • Rosey Life
  • Wonderland 222
  • Owl Paper
  • Aura Estelle
  • Tiny Grids

Feel free to share updates about the brands you follow below. (This is meant to share info on releases our users are excited about though, so the r/planners rule against self-promotion still applies. Please keep all promo to our quarterly promotional threads.)

r/Planners Promo Thread - Q3 2026

Welcome to the r/planners sub promotions thread for Quarter 3 of 2026! This thread is for sub members to share their products, shops, and social channels. Please read the full post before commenting, even if you've posted in a promo thread here before.

Users are welcome to leave a comment here to get the word out about their paper planners, rings or disc planner inserts, planner covers, and shops that sell related accessories. You can also link your planner-related social media channels here.

Sticker shops or shops that sell printables suitable for ring or disc planners are welcome to promote here if your products include only your own original artwork. Please don't link shops that feature any AI art or purchased/clip art designs. (Unfortunately this is the only way we can be comfortable that the original artists are being compensated fairly.)

This sub focuses on paper planners, so links to planning apps, Notion/Goodnotes templates, or other digital designs will be removed. Printables are allowed only if they're specifically designed to fit standard ring or disc planners (and aren't just letter-sized worksheets). Websites meant to design custom printables may be allowed in some cases, but only if they generate pages with sizes and margins suited for standard ring or disc planners.

Please describe all your work in a single comment below (one comment thread per user/brand), and give readers an idea what your product, shop, or channel is about instead of just dropping a link. Make sure to include any info that you think users might be interested in. Any comments asking users to send a private message for more details will be removed to protect users from potential spam/scam activity. Giveaways in exchange for mailing list signups or other attempts to gather a user's personal info are not allowed.

This thread is designed for users to share their own projects, so comments that include affiliate marketing codes or affiliate coupons will be deleted.

Questions or feedback about these guidelines are welcome through modmail or in any current sub update thread, but please keep this one on topic so users who want to browse here can focus on our members' work. The next quarterly thread will be posted in early July. Thanks!

Looking for a unicorn?

I've been trying to find my perfect planner and I may have too many wants, but I also haven't seen or heard of every planner out there so hoping someone here can give me some good suggestions. I am currently drawing out my own planning pages in a Midori A6 Grid as seen in the photo. My main points, I want something smaller (no bigger than B6) soft cover, bound and preferably lays flat when open. I don't want a planner that has excessive pages made for goals or budget tracking (I'm perfectly happy with just a yearly tracker, and then monthly layouts that come right before the corresponding weeks. Don't need daily pages. Vertical or horizontal. Help a girl out!

Conference planner notebook needed

Post image
2 Upvotes

Last year I grabbed a plum paper notebook called Conference Companion that was geared towards conference attendees that was so good. It listed schedules, had room for notes and content on individual sessions. Size a5 stapled thin notebook. Customizable with name on cover.

Anyone know if plum paper will bring this back (I think it was mainly for go wild people, but I used it for an academic conference). Or an alternate planner that is similar?

How many notebooks in a a5 Hobonichi cover?

Hi! i bought my first Hobonichi item a few days ago (a Techo Planner A5 Cover + plastic cover for cover).

I was wondering if this is the correct/ best way to fit multiple journals in it and i’m also curious how others do this. as in what works for you, what doesn’t, etc etc..

My set up now is:
a blank Leuchtturm1917 Jottbook (small notebook), with one flap in the cover.
a thin notebook in the middle, with both flaps in the cover.
and a Muji weekly planner, with one flap on the other side.

Is this is the best way to go about it? Am i maybe damaging the cover in the long run by adding 3 notebooks?

Any advice/ suggestions welcome! Thank you for reading.

So this is supposed to start in January 2027, but the first daily page is JULY 1 2027 😂 even the side tab starts at the middle, so this planner is actually for July 2027 - December 2028

Best plum paper layout

• Upvotes

Has anyone used the ME layout? I’ve really liked the “two sided days” but am tempted to try ME to organize all of my family separately but together. It’s so expensive that I’m afraid that if I hate it, it’ll be wasted money

Which pages in your planner do you never actually use?

Planner season question. Every year a chunk of my planner goes completely untouched, and I’m curious whether it’s the same pages for everyone.

For me it’s the yearly overview. It looks great when I’m choosing the planner, and then I never open it again.

What do you always skip? And are there any pages you thought you’d never use but now can’t live without?

Help in deciding

Hi. I’m a litigating lawyer who likes to write handwritten notes in fountain pens. I’ve been on and off with my planners.

For 2025 - I had pasted monthly calendars on a wall and mapped things out. It worked well as a planner. For journaling, I got the paper republic leather covers with planners and dotted line books (all three sizes). Each size worked for a different purpose.

For 2026 - I didn’t get the yearly ones on time and didn’t use any journal or planner. Didn’t use the calendar either. But I’m ahead of time now and looking to buy a planner and a journal.

I need it for work and life. Work involves keeping track of deadlines, hearing dates, meetings and events. Need to keep track of a bunch of things.

Life requires a bit of planning too - dates, family time, events, birthdays. Plus a To-do list for chores, grocery, gifts, spend, purchases etc. In addition, I want to have journaling option. Just to track the big and small events and my feelings / emotions.

I need journal / planner options that fit into the paper republic leather covers. Both the A5 and A4 sizes (skip the pocket one). The paper size that fits are:

14 x 20 cm / 5.5 x 7.9 inches for [xl or a5]
21 x 29.7 cm / 8.3 x 11.6 inches for [a4]

Please recommend. I don’t like blank papers. Need structure - dates / times / ability to track and assess. A bird eye view of the upcoming month is also very helpful.

YouTuber Planners Recs?

I’m looking for recommendations on Youtubers who do videos on setting up their planners. I’m looking for people that focus more on the functional aspect of setting it up—not with crazy amounts of stickers, etc. I need good ideas about how to use some of the available, pages, tracking, how they keep track of things. You know real life functional tips. I will be using just Scribble weekly duo particularly. However, they do not have to be using that particular planner.

Alicia Souza or Factornotes

Hey guys! I just purchased Alicia Souza’s planner for the third time. I’ve previously used planners from Factor Notes, June Shop, and Inkbucket as well.

Due to a last-minute hiccup, Alicia Souza’s planner will only be shipped after November 3rd. Meanwhile, I’ve been thinking about switching to Factor Notes, but they haven’t launched their planner yet.

For those of you who received the Alicia Souzas planner through the pre launch, could you please share your reviews? Do you think I should wait for Alicia Souza’s planner without cancelling my order, or would you recommend looking at other planners instead?

Would love to hear your suggestions! 🥹💗

I use a large monthly sheet on a clipboard like pictured & then plan daily with a dump list & organize into an Eisenhower matrix & work off it for the week. Could you help me find a template that would work for my A5 ring binder? I’m nervous just this won’t work bc of the space available on the smaller paper… idk what to do lol

Take A Note Biweekly Veterans?

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hi friends, I’ve been taking my planner planning quite slowly for 2027 to make sure that I make the right purchase. I want to ask anyone who has used the Take A Note biweekly planner before how it holds up after the entire year.

Previously I’ve used the Hobonichi Techo Weeks and the Sterling Ink N2 Horizontal Compact Common Planner and have absolutely loved both. However, at the end of the year, I tend to have a bunch of blank weekly memo pages from the less busy weeks. The Take A Note biweekly is attractive to me because it’s more compact. I’m nervous, though, about it not being book bound. Basically, I’m wondering if the biweekly will fall apart after it’s thrown around my bag for 12 months.

I love my new MUJI B5 Monthly/Weekly planner

I’m a really disorganized and messy person, and probably have ADD (inattentive) though not diagnosed. I tried doing bullet journal hand-drawn monthly calendars and daily entries for a while but I would keep forgetting and not opening it for weeks. and I’d fall behind on drawing the monthly calendars.

I found these academic-year planners being cleared out at my local MUJI and am so in love with their clean minimalist aesthetic (the cover with the date is so attractive!) I got B5 because thats all they had left and I write big.

I needed something I could start using immediately and I didn’t want to have to fill in dates, though their undated planners are amazing too and I picked up undated monthly/daily and monthly/weekly for future years.

A few months in the planner have gone by so I’m using those pages to jot down notes and lists. I’m very happy with the quality of MUJI planners!

Impossible planner hunt

I’ve visited the “make your own” planner brands, and have searched the google web. But im looking for:
-spiral bound
-large format
-monthly calendar
-no weekly/daily planning pages after that- just blank journal pages. If there are daily/weekly pages after that, i would love a page dedicated to each day for journal entries :).

Here’s to hoping my reddit kings & queens can work their magic 🤞🏼✨

2027 Wonderland222/Writing Utensils

Hi everyone!

I'm looking into buying my planner for the 2027 year (I started with a B6 Vertical all-in-one W222 in August as my very first "adult" planner). I'm super new to TRP and the planner world, so please give me a bit of grace here... I'm interested in the 2027 W222 (A5, same layout - would just like more space to write!) because I love the layout, but I know they recently changed their paper back to the TRP for 2027.

I don't love the 2026 paper because I've experienced pretty bad ghosting with my favorite pens (TUL .5 Needle point, Pilot V5 EF, and Sharpie S-Gel) and bleeding with my colored pens (PaperMate Inkjoy gel 0.7) I don't write with the TUL .5 anymore because I write pretty heavy and it tends to leave indents on the next 1-2 pages (but honestly that's a me problem) and the Pilot V5/Papermates will even bleed through onto the following page. I'm also planning to DIY a pencil board and see if that helps with the TUL .5, but I don't think it will do much about the ghosting.

I was wondering if anyone who has received their 2027 W222 could comment on the paper quality (ghosting, bleed, etc)? Or if any W222 users out there have recommendations for a better pen (black and maybe a color set) with minimal ghosting? Or even recommendations for a different planner with the same/similar layout but thicker paper? I know ghosting is probably unavoidable, but I want to see if there are any changes I could make for 2027 that make using my planner even better!

I’m super stoked with how this turned out, I only used free version of Canva, and printed it on regular paper on my home printer. I might buy some heavier paper at some point, but this saved me from buying someone else’s design on Etsy.

Planner with just a monthly spread and no daily/weekly spread?

Not sure if they even make these but i don’t like weekly or daily spread pages! Is there a planner that just has 12 pages (Jan-Dec) and the rest of the pages are blanks or something else? I like seeing my month all the together but i don’t need daily or weekly pages.

Weekly Planner with Notebook for Daily Needs?

I generally need to see my week laid out in a vertical format so I can see my time blocks for the week all at once. But lately I’ve been using the Passion Planner Undated Daily and I have been really loving having space to make extensive daily to-do lists plus a whole dot grid page for notes each day. I’d love one planner that combines both a weekly vertical layout and at least one page per day for notes and to-dos. Problem is I’m also very picky about wanting a book bound planner with thicker 120gsm gridded paper, and all the weekly/daily combos I’ve find are either spiral/disc bound or thin paper. I ended up buying a weekly Hemlock & Oak for 2027 and am thinking I’ll get a plain dot-grid notebook for my daily needs. Does anyone do this? How does it work for you?

Plannered out

Hi! I loveeeeee planners but I'm sick of looking lol and could use some help 🩷 I'm taking on some new life stuff for 2027 so I'm needing a new planner system. I dont have stationary stores here other than Barnes and noble, Walmart etc. so I've been researching online.

tomoe river paper

simple layouts like hobonichi or sterling ink

Preferably a b6 size as I use weeks size now but I'll need a tad bit more space

I have a dedicated journal, common place, and rings already! So I dont need 300 blank pages.

Or maybe I'm just being too picky. I was thinking sterling ink b6 compact? Any advice? I know planners are so personal and dependant on usage.
