I'm heading there next week on a family holiday, thinking about bringing my gear since there is a bit of wind in the forecast. Anyone ridden there and have recommendations?

Looking for recommendations for the best beginner spot in Mexico in late December that has the best chance at consistent wind. Flight options are best into Cancun, so leaning towards spots on the Yucatan. I've seen Isla Blanca, Holbox, El Cuyo, or Progresso on other threads. How do they compare at that time of year for a beginner? Any specific school recommendations for lessons? Bonus points for a spot near nice, quiet beaches for non-kiters to hang.
