Discussion Is this dating or a subscription-based business model now? 🤣

Found someone on Tinder, started talking on Snapchat, and things were going pretty well. Jokes, voice notes, good banter. Then, around 15 minutes into the conversation, she brought up getting her a brand-new phone as part of the “princess treatment.”

I pointed out that asking for a phone before we've even been on a first date is wild.

Her response? “Well, you can't spend money on me, why should I spend my time?”

💀

I thought we were getting to know each other. Turns out, I was in a business negotiation and didn't even know it.

15-minute free trial before the premium subscription kicks in. 🤣

Is this normal when using dating apps in Kuwait now, or did I just get unlucky? What's the weirdest thing someone's expected from you before you've even had a first date?

Ask Kuwait I miss Kuwait so dearly, how has it changed since 2007 ?

• Upvotes

I moved to Kuwait with my family when I was just 2 years old, and I basically spent my entire childhood and teenage years there. Kuwait was the only home I ever really knew.

In 2007, I left Kuwait and moved to Australia. It's been almost 20 years now, but honestly, there's still a part of me that never left.

I can't really explain it, but Kuwait holds such a special place in my heart. The people, the streets, the food, the malls, the atmosphere, even the little everyday things I probably took for granted growing up. Sometimes I find myself randomly remembering places and moments from my childhood, and I get this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia.

Australia has been my home for nearly two decades, but whenever I think about my childhood, it's always Kuwait that comes to mind.

For those of you who've been living there since the early 2000s, I'm genuinely curious: how much has Kuwait changed since 2007?

Does it still have that same feeling? Are the old places still around? Has life changed much? And for those who remember Kuwait in the 90s and early 2000s, do you ever miss how things used to be?

I'd love to hear your memories and what Kuwait is like today.

I really hope I get to visit again someday. ❤️🇰🇼

Ask Kuwait Are there part-time jobs for a university student (F21)?

Hello everyone, I’m (F21) a student at kuniv (in my 4th/graduation year) and I was wondering where I can search for a part-time that hires a student? I’m willing to transport by public bus

A friend of mine works as a saleswoman at a store in avenues, for example. How can I search for positions like that? especially as someone without prior experience

I appreciate all help! :)

Ask Kuwait Would you switch from instant delivery (with a fee) to scheduled delivery (free, no minimum order)?

Quick question for people who order groceries online in Kuwait. Right now, most apps offer instant delivery : you order and it arrives fast, but you pay a delivery fee. What if there was a scheduled delivery option instead? You pick a time slot, there’s no minimum order value, and delivery is free?

Ask Kuwait Babtain Service Center for Warranty claims (Honor Mobile)

Hi. Does anyone know quality of services at the Babtain service center. I’m switching away from iPhone into a Chinese brand called Honor, taking a big fat chance. God forbid something goes wrong, I want to know what I would be dealing with when claiming warranty.
