Help finding a scout scope.

I have a 30-30 model 94 that im looking to mount a scope on. Ive ordered a "Pearson no drill tactical rail" and i was planning on purchasing a Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 Scout but they appear to now be completely gone.

Is there a good alternative in the same price range and quality? I cant find much of anything that isnt much higher in price.

Marlin front tenon

Does anyone know if the modern front tenon for a Marlin 444 will fit an original JM stamped rifle? The original tenon is stripped to shit and all the old oem parts are sold out. I know the new tenon has different screw pitch, I’m just worried it won’t fit the dovetail.

Thank you for the help.

Marlin 1894 Cowboy

Post image

This is a Marlin 1894 Cowboy chambered in 38/ 357. I have been looking for a while and found this one online. I manage to drive over this weekend and finally picked it up. This is a non standard 1894. Being as it is the “Cowboy” edition, it has a 20” tapered octagon barrel and the strait stock. Finding one chambered in 38/357 showed to be more of a challenge than I anticipated.

Trigger feels loose

Just got a brand new S&W 1854 .44 Mag and the trigger feels wiggly front back left and right. I didn’t notice it when I first got it - should I be concerned?

There was a theme at the range today it seems.

(Help?) Marlin 1894 - what did I do wrong? (Bolt is stuck)

Thumbnail gallery

I’ve never shot it. It’s the 357/38 model. I’ve been working the lever by hand for months to get it slick. Finally brought it out today, opened the lever and it seized up.

Looks like ejector pin is protruding in front of the bolt and maybe holding it in place.

No idea what happened, how I caused this, etc.

Help?

45LC Heavy Loads: S&W 1854 Stealth or Henry Big Boy Hush?

Howdy,

I'm looking to pick up a gun to go with my revolver that will also be used for southeastern whitetail deer and hog hunting. Looking to run some hand load and run some heavy 250-300 hot loads for the hunting tasks. Which would you choose for +P / hot loads and why?

Rossi r95 45-70

So I just bought a Rossi r95 45-70 for deer hunting. I’m wanting to see scope setups and what y’all are using scope rings rails and scopes I’m wanting the vortex cross fire ll 3-9x50.

Here is mine and I am really liking it.

Got the lowest mounts I could. Less then a millimetre of clearance between the scope and the picatinny rail. 223 and I get jealous of what people in the US get to buy these for as they now retail here for around AU$2900 or around US$2000. I will probably remove the open sights.

Can you guys tell me if you guys have gotten any stellar deals on any SBLs? I know I want one, and I'm sitting around waiting for one, but I just want to know what the public pays for these and if anyone has found some crazy deals I should be on the lookout for.

Help needed with Henry Big Boy X .357

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hello all. I've had a reoccurring problem with my .357 Henry big boy X. Part number 35 (locking bolt) broke on me around a month or two ago. I thought "oh well I've had easily 2000+ rounds out of the rifle the odd part is to be expected". So I ordered a new one (UK based so this was a bitch). Tonight at the range, standard use shooting a comp (factory S&B 158gn) and the same part failed on me. This has got me wondering;

Are the parts just cast trash and I got lucky on my first part?

Have I gotten unlucky with the replacement part?

Is something else wrong in my rifle that is causing the failure?

Any help would be much appreciated, just short of making a replacement part out of inconel I'm getting a bit miffed

Anybody else had similar issues? And does anyone have any other idea of what to look at.

Uberti 1866 Help

Post image
3 Upvotes

My uberti 1866 I just got is doing this on the first round when you go to chamber it. The cartridge as you can see with this dummy round is kicked off to the side and you have to push it back straight through the loading gate. I read something about having to polish a certain spot on ubertis is this what they are talking about? Any help is appreciated. It’s on 45 colt btw
