What do you think the role of Loki is in Doomsday?

We know he visited Steve(I don't buy the theories that he pretends to be Steve even though it would be interesting) right after Endgame's ending and the Steve we see is from a few years later.

Then the multiverse is collapsing and Doom is out destroying everyone.

So is Loki building his own team to stop him or manipulate the situation? And how is Doom able to do all he does without Loki being able to stop him from his almost omnipotent position?

Personally I would not want another Doctor Strange situation where everything happens for a reason.

What about Sylvie? Is she the green witch? Is she going to appear at all?

I just realized something. Since childhood, Sylvie spent her whole life jumping from one apocalypse to another, thus evading the TVA because no action can create a timeline branch when the entire place is imminently doomed.

But... based on everything we know about the TVA and the Multiverse, branches are created by the actions of people interacting with other people. We've never been told that a new timeline could arise from a frog eating a bug, or a tree falling in a forest. That's why Classic Loki could hide indefinitely on an uninhabited planet - right? The TVA only caught him and pruned him when he went to find Thor.

So rather than growing up in apocalypses, why didn't Sylvie take refuge in nature? That seems more peaceful, and she's plenty smart enough to have figured it out. If self-sufficiency in the wild is implausible, she could duck into an apocalypse to resupply (e.g., grab some produce from a market stall in Pompeii), and then spend a quiet week before the next foray. Lonely, but safe.

Does this make sense? I can't be the only one to have thought of the idea, but I'm surprised it only now occurred to me, after five years of rewatching the show. Subconsciously, I might have been inspired by this cool concept art from Wes Burt (@wes_burt on Instagram, June 8, 2026).

After 5 years, I just finished Loki season 1. I understood almost everything except the concepts of universes and branches.

In the first episode, it says there was a multiversal war. But was it a war between universes or between alternate timelines of a single universe?

What I want to understand is, did Kang create the sacred timeline for a single universe, for example, Earth-616, or does it apply to all universes, like Earth-838?

So, were all the Kang variants that the one who remains eliminated from the same universe (meaning they were alternate branches), or were they from different universes? Just like the Loki variants

What I think I understand, and I'm probably wrong, is that each Loki is from a different universe, since I don't think the crocodile Loki is from universe 616, as it must be an Earth where only animals exist.

Therefore, the sacred timeline applies to all universes, or at least a selected number of universes; that is, it doesn't only apply to universe 616, but to thousands of universes.

I was meant last month to start catching up with Marvel for Doomsday but got stuck on the very first thing immediately.... Loki....

I think Loki would come to love her deeply and protect her 💚

There has been something that bothered me about a couple scenes in the show. After my latest re-watch I spent more time thinking about it.. Universe 616 is mentioned twice. Once on the movie reel showing Loki's life and again talking about the variant on 616 adjacent. Neither time is it referred to as the sacred timeline. Mobius could have said 'adjacent to the sacred timeline'. Add that to He Who Remains paved the way for him. I'm starting to think 616 is not the sacred timeline. It is only the paved road for Loki to become what he became. I'd kind of like to think this is why the MCU went off the rails after Endgame. HWR was no longer maintaining the timeline.

On a side note, we know Doomsday will eliminate many timelines. Just because one was sacred for HWR does not mean Doom will feel that way.

Poor Thor 💔😢 Thor lost so much, but losing Loki was one of the wounds he never truly got over. 💔 Do you think having Loki by his side would have helped Thor cope with his grief, or was his breakdown inevitable after everything he had been through?
