So I’ve been posting here about my love of the mp5 for years. I bombard you with videos. I know, I know, it’s the same shit over and over.

But I love these guns, and figure I’ll share them working so well with others who also enjoy the platform.

Only recently did I start to share these videos on instagram. To my amazement, IG likes these things WAAAAYYYY more than reddit.

But what really blows my mind is that mp5 content gets substantially less interest and viewership than something like a mk18 or car15.

I get that an sbr 556 and car15 look really cool, but do you really suppose the gun community doesn’t realize just how incredibly the mp5 shoots?

Some stupid video of shooting the mk18 for 4 magazines gets 10 times the attention of the absolute peak of firearms shooting experience - the mp5sd.

Has the larger community bought into the fud-lore about how old and dated the mp5 is? Are mp5’s not cool anymore?

I mean, I’ll put my AR lower mp5’s up against ANYTHING. The lack of last round bolt hold open is a tiny cost for the otherwise otherworldly shooting experience.

What are your thoughts?

I purchased my SP5 back in Spring. Only now I’ve finally gathered all the parts I wanted and finished the setup. The B&T stock rail can’t retract all the way in because the KAC picatinny handguard rail extends too far back. Maybe I need to grab the A3 stock to complete the setup. Never ends…

I’m looking to buy my first suppressor but not sure what to pick. Looking for a clean and flush look but not wanting to sacrifice on sound really. I’ve heard good things about the omega 9k, dead air wolfman, and the lithium 9. That’s kind of the look I’m going for

Here’s my AP5. Honestly, no regrets so far about not purchasing an actual HK. I’ve been enjoying my clone a lot. However, I’ve never actually held a real HK, so I can’t really compare the two.

Absolutely love my AP5-P, the only thing I’m not satisfied with is the can. It’s an OCL lithium 9. It sounds good but it just has a lot of back pressure and gasses me out even in semi out doors. I got it right before the milkman came out, I wish the timing was better. I’d also liked to have known about the incolite 9m. Not being satisfied, how would you proceed?

Edit: Maybe I should specify, would it be worth selling the lithium? I don’t really have any other hosts to put it on

Realistically how bad would it be to buy a rare greed trigger? I’m tired of the constant waiting for AS designs to put it out (and I do like the way the rare breed selector looks) but I also know that RB is a shitty company. Would it really be that bad to buy from RB at this point considering they’re currently the only one selling a drop in frt?

I'm looking for a good but not super expensive compact light for my ap5. Any brands yall could suggest? I imagine with it having to mount so close to the barrel heat resistance is a big factor so, I haven't bothered with some lights i have laying around.

Major life accomplishment happened and decided to reward myself. 100 percent satisfied. Only about maybe 500 rounds so far with about half suppressed. Zero malfunctions even when using the cheap ass steel case ammo from academy sports. Waiting for a rugged trilug mount for my obsedian 9. Will probably keep it on in short configuration for home defense and shooting indoors but take it off when using the outdoor range, sounds weird but I kinda like the bang it makes without the suppressor makes the experience a little more visceral. Still able to fit in the included HK range bag even in log boi configuration. Zero regrets shelling out for the HK experience for the out of the box reliability.

Running a UTG pro mount and AC unity folding stock. No issues with the mount so far but it does make me a little paranoid that the monolithic design might affect my zero if I torque on the handguard but this hasn’t been seen in reality. The AC unity stock wobbles a little bit from side to side when extended when I test it with my hand but don’t really notice it when operating the weapon, not bad for $70 and don’t plan on upgrading it.

After about ten times trying to login I finally do and can’t check out because some error on their website. Why do they even bother with the US website if it doesn’t ever work?

Dad finally shot in his AP5SD. We probably shot 150ish rounds. Not a lot, but we were getting pressed for time towards the end. All suppressed with my R9 on a YHM 3 lug. I think we shot a magazine of mixed 115gr supers, and the rest were my subsonic 147gr reloads. Not enough for a true break in like we’ve read but he did shoot it so now I have the green light to send it off to get converted into a true sd.

I changed out to a 100 degree locking piece before hand. I think all the dry firing and “click clacking” (what my dad calls it whenever you hand cycle an action) helped remove some of the paint on the inside of the receiver.

He’s got a rare breed FRT on order (what he wanted, go easy on him). Going to get him a red dot of some kind (likely a holosun or sig), arisaka 300 series (my personal fave) and the utg mounts (what he specifically asked for).

Following my last post here looking to get a old school HK T-shirt, I’ve finally gotten one.

I initially ordered a T-shirt from infinitewaresvintage on eBay. Unfortunately I got cucked by the post office and it was sent back. The shirt looked great and their customer service experience was very nice, but I ended up refunding the shirt.

I put it off for a while after that but finally got around to making my second attempt. This shirt came from oshgoshkalash on eBay. Unlike the other shirt this one is a more new production style of shirt which I prefer. The other one had artificial fading to make it look more vintage. The print on the shirt is perfect, I see no difference between this and one of the original shirts. I will acknowledge that i believe the originals had a 2nd print on the back with a different graphic of a guy rappelling. This shirt does not feature any graphics on the back, but i usually am wearing a jacket, so while that isn’t a huge con for me, some might not like that. I ordered a size large intending on a more loose fit. This is one of those t-shirts that i found fits tighter on the arms but more normal on the body. While I ordered a large for a looser fit, I do find this fits me more like a medium with fitted sleeves so I would recommend sizing up if you want normal sizing. Overall, I’m happy with the shirt and would gladly do business again!

With my recent range trip yesterday, I shot about 300 rounds, 50/50 suppressed and unsuppressed.
Shooting 124gr and 150gr S&B I ran into frequent FTF with the nose of the rounds flipping upward into the chamber face.
I assumed it was mags, which it could very well still be part of the feed issue.
Bolt wasn’t going home with as much authority, also assumed that was due to gunk buildup.

Noticed that there was new wear on the receiver rails towards the rear and that the bolt carrier was making slight contact with the buffer pad on my stock, made evident by the freshly worn material being imprinted on the pad.

Is my recoil spring smoked after only 3k rounds? If so, anyone have experience with the Innovative Armament extra power recoil assembly from RTG?

Does a pre-made sling like this exist: has an HK hook on one end, QD on the other? I'm sure I could buy a sling and two different sets of hardware to make it myself, but I'd love to make just one purchase.

Yes, I know this is weird - I have the eyelet at the front and my Magpul stock has the QD point since I'm not 100 percent sold on that stock.

So my quest to have a complete set is nearly done. I am fond of the Old School aesthetic, so not leaning toward optics.

I am trying to decide if I really want a stock for the P, but a fore grip is definitely getting added.

I like the thought of the P hung from a shoulder without a stock and using the sling to steady it as I fire. For those that shoot sans stock, how is it?

That SD is definitely getting a conversion once acquired though.
