💬 Discussion Fix for the SYNC rebooting issue (+ Reset Instructions)
Hello Mustang Mach-E owners,
I wanted to provide an update on the SYNC rebooting issue. The team appreciates everyone that reached out and provided VINs and helped with troubleshooting. It's played a part in helping to find this solution and we appreciate it.
After investigating with the team, it's turned out to be an issue on the backend with third-party data that was triggering those unexpected SYNC 4 reboots.
Because of this, we want to clarify: This wasn’t an issue with a Ford OTA. I know a lot of folks will defensively toggle off automatic updates when they see a bug reported. If you turned your automatic updates off just in case, make sure you go in and turn them back on!
That data-related issue is now resolved on our end.
Next steps for your Mach-E: If your screen is still acting up or stuck in a reboot loop, you likely just need to force a manual SYNC reset to clear things out and let it pull the fix.
- Important note: If you already tried doing a manual reset yesterday (or earlier in the week) to try and fix this, you will need to do it one more time today. Resets done before this fix was applied on our end won't have grabbed the solution.
How to reset: The quickest way to do this is to hold down the Volume Down and Right Seek buttons on your steering wheel at the same time for about 10 seconds until the screen goes black and the Pony appears. (If you need the official step-by-step visual guide, you can find that here)
One quick heads-up: While the reboots themselves should be cured, you might still experience some intermittent hiccups with Connected Navigation services. We are actively working with our supplier to get those fully restored as well, so hang tight on that front.
We appreciate your patience as we work to get this resolved.
Have a great weekend! ⚡️

💬 Discussion The mid-sized electric truck is called Ford Fathom. Here’s what we can tell you.
Many of you know me from helping with vehicle issues and answering questions in this community, today I wanted to introduce you to u/RileyFromFord who has newly joined the team and is going to be on Reddit regularly.
We can't show you what our mid-size electric truck looks like...yet. But we can confirm the name: Ford Fathom, the first vehicle produced on the new Universal Electric Vehicle Platform.

”Fathom" traces back to a nautical unit of measurement, originally defined as the distance between a person's outstretched arms, a fitting metaphor for a truck built to meet people wherever they are in life. Fitting, right?
What's confirmed right now:
- Starting MSRP: $28,350, for the standard-range battery. Pre-orders begin early 2027.
- Every Ford Fathom will be BlueCruise-capable. BlueCruise is Ford’s hands-free highway driving assistant.
- Fathom has bidirectional power capability.
- Fathom has a large, high-resolution touchscreen, digital key, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
- Fathom will have more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4, with a frunk and bed for added cargo flexibility. This truck will genuinely useful and fun to drive.
- Fathom will feature Apple Maps embedded directly into the vehicle, not a traditional phone-projection CarPlay setup. The integration also provides the road-level map data used to help enable key pieces of Ford’s next-generation hands-free highway driving capability.
What we can’t share yet: final imagery, fuller specs, full ordering details, and plenty more are still to come. A hot tip - keep a keen eye on the flipbook video we have going around…
If you want to stay up to date with what we have planned for Fathom, you can sign up here.
Ask us anything, and we'll answer what we can. Riley & I will be in the comments for the next few hours, and we aren't going anywhere after that either.

🛒 Car Shopping 2021 AWD Standard Range, 240k miles. What should I pay?
There is a 2021 AWD standard range Mach-E that I can get my hands on, but we're not sure what a fair price is. This is at the extreme end of the mileage charts at 240k miles and we're not even sure if KBB's value of ~$7k (for my zip code) is even in the ball park. All recall notices are taken care of including this famed HVJB issue I keep reading about. Local Ford dealership would not entertain any trade-in value for it, as expected. Thoughts?

🛒 Car Shopping 2027 Order banks now open- Lower MSRP
Based on 2027 Order Guide and a recent article published in Ford Authority web site, I was just at local dealer to bottom out pricing on either '26 or '27 Mach E Premium. In fact the '27 is $2350 less expensive based on my research. I ordered a '27 .

❓Question Best Dash cam that is discreet?
Looking to buy a dash cam for someone that has both front and rear cams. and ok with cabin recording also as an option. But I want one that is a little more discreet than this chunk of device sticking on the windshield. Been digging around on the threads and Fit cam X is a nice option and checking if you guys recommend any other ones that have both front and back cameras. I was hoping to install it under the frits/black dots of the windshield but it looks relatively small compared to other car's windshields. Are there ones that are kind of small enough to install under that? Parked recordings are not necessary, mostly want to record while driving.
Anything I need to be aware of for an EV? This would be my 1st time installing on an EV.
Thanks for the help!

❓Question How is this winter tire/rim combo?
Hey everyone, I got a 2026 premium awd sr back in September and it’s time to buy tires and wheels for the snow.
I ordered these: https://www.canadawheels.ca/rssw-wheels-drive-gloss-black-azz858dvgb
And I’m going to order 225/60R18 104H XL Michelin X-Ice + tires from Costco.
Warning on Costco website says these are not recommended for this vehicle and they may not install them. It’s up to the manager. Fine, I’ll deal with that if they refuse to work with me on the installation.
But it’s got me worried that maybe these won’t work for my car? Please mme herd, lemme know if these will work, and, if anyone has any experience with these, how are they? Canada wheels says the rims will fit fine but now I’m concerned. Anyone have these on a mach e?

❓Question Is it worth it to set up departure times?
This will be my first winter with my mach e, and we're just starting to get frosts. My commute has been pretty long (35 miles each way) but my work schedule is changing. My new commute will only be about 7 miles each way. From what I've read, pre conditioning while plugged in can use 3-7 kw of electricity. Is it worth it to use all that extra electricity for my very short commute? Am I damaging the battery if I don't warm it up first when it's very cold outside? Thank you

💬 Discussion App not updated (resolved)
Hey everyone!
My first app randomly stopped updating yesterday. Controls didn't work, couldn't refresh etc.
Spoke with Ford and what fixed it for me:
Turn vehicle connectivity off.
Turn car off.
Open driver door and lock while open.
Shut door (mine beeped at me).
Turn on car
Turn on connectivity.
Force stop/close Ford app.
Happy app.
💬 Discussion Wash and ceramic done.
We had a nice day in PA today so I decided to give the wife's car a good wash and ceramic coating before winter.
I've been using Avalon King armor shield 9 for years. Great stuff. You can usually find deals on Black Friday.

❓Question Ford Connected Built-in Navigation Question
So my baby just turned 3 and I let Blue Cruise expire. I don't really use it. I also noticed that Ford Connected Built-in Navigation has expired. Does that mean that Android Auto is the only I can pre-condition now?
I use AA and it works nicely but the rest of my family are all Apple Car Play users which does not auto-integrate for Preconditioning.
So if any of them need to us DCFC then I need to keep paying for Connected Built-in Navigation?
I can see this being a pay-feature for any kind of car besides and EV where this is a requirement to use/drive/maintain your car (or have a button like others do that starts the preconditioning.

💬 Discussion Test drove my first EV (Mach E) yesterday - thoughts and questions
Sorry, long post incoming...
I recently just started looking into getting a new(er) car to replace my 2014 Hyundai and I've included EVs in my list of potential cars. Yesterday I drove by a Ford dealership close by in Ottawa, Canada and saw a few Mach E's lined up in front, I had time, kids were at their activities and I had about 3 hours to kill so I stopped by. They had 2 Selects and 1 Premium loaded with everything except a panoramic roof, not a deal breaker but an option I thought I wanted. Anyways, I wanted to get a closer look so I spoke to a salesman and after being fully upfront with him about not buying today and this was my first EV I've even sat in I just wanted to see what it was about. He was very easy going, not pushy, he said take the car for a drive for as long as I wanted (within reason) and try it out, I wanted to take it home to show my wife. He walked me through the options, how to adjust the settings, what they all meant, etc. and I was off.
As soon as I hit the road it was quite a shock coming from a 12 year gas SUV, it felt totally different. I wasn't sure how I felt, I had the radio off so it was quite trippy being able to hear everything in the road, including that spaceshipy sound at low speeds, is that normal? It didn't have the noise isolation I thought it'd have but it wasn't bad, I didn't find the propulsion sound to do much either. I drove the first while in whisper mode with 1 pedal off, auto hold on. It was very responsive, but it's bouncey, not as soft as I was hoping but I get its more of a sports car feel than SUV and I know the GT magnaride would resolve that but they didn't have one to try. Eventually I moved up the driving modes and turned on 1 pedal driving, ngl I did not like it at all. I understand people love it and maybe I'd get used to it but even in whisper that regen braking was strong, I like to coast off the pedal and I was starting to feel a bit nauseous lol. Do people just get used to it? Is whisper supposed to have the softest regen braking? Is it useless driving an EV without 1 pedal driving?
Now, to talk about the giant tablet on the dash lol. I'm coming from a car that still has physical buttons and dials with only a few touch screen options, I did find this to be very distracting but again I was focused on adjusting settings. There are a lot of things to figure out but Im sure over time I'd know how to easily adjust everything. It was a bit slow to respond on some buttons so I found myself hitting buttons twice and then realizing its just delayed so I'd have to hit it a 3rd time. I do wish cars kept physical buttons.
Overall the drive was nice, and I told the salesman I'd like to see how the GT feels comfort wise before making a decision and there are other EVs I want to try out before pulling the trigger but I can definitely see this being a contender.
I guess I'd like to know, what are the likes and dislikes of drivers? What should I be looking out for if I go back and look at a GT or another premium at another dealer when I start shopping for the best price.
❓Question Heated/cooled seats
Does anyone else have the issue where you start the climate in your car from the Ford Pass app? And the heated/cooled seats have a mind of their own. Like, for example, it can be cold outside and the only function I have used is the heated seats. I get in the car and it’s warm, and everything works perfectly. Then I start the car and then the cooled seats start blasting or vice versa

💬 Discussion 18 inch rims on a 2025 Mach E standard RWD?
Has anyone else put 18-inch rims on a 2023+ Mach E? From what I know, the registration and the certificate of conformity only list 19 inches. I know they physically fit. Would it be hard to get approved?

💬 Discussion Considering Mach E for my first EV
I’ve been driving a 2017 Fusion Platinum for nearly ten years now. I’ve absolutely loved the car, but it’s getting older and I’m going to need to replace it before long. I don’t know what to buy next.
I love how my fusion handles. It’s peppy and really handles the curves well in my mountain town. It’s also incredibly comfortable. Since it’s All Wheel Drive it goes pretty well in the ice and snow. I also feel like it’s a smoother ride than a lot of other sedans I’ve driven. If Ford still made them I’d just buy a newer one.
I’ve never really cared for SUVS because they’re too heavy and don’t feel like they handle the curves as well as a sedan. My mom has a V6 Explorer and I don’t care for it. I hate how it stops and starts at red lights and it just doesn’t have the pep that my car does.
Would a Mach E Mustang be a replacement that sounds like it fits these preferences? I want something comfortable, peppy and that handles curves well. I also need 4 doors so I’m not interested in a regular mustang.
🧹 Fluff Hi Twin!!! If this way you (Friday afternoon), it made my day.
I spotted you way behind me, but thought I was imagining it. Glad you caught up and waved hi!

🔌 Charging Am I losing my mind or is a gas car cheaper in the north east where our electric is expensive?
I've been obsessed with electricity costs and calculating my actual miles per kwh since getting my mach e, and something feels so wrong. I keep rerunning the numbers and I feel like my electric costs are excessive.
No matter how I run the numbers on my upstate ny national grid bill my electricity comes out to a whopping 28c per kwh.
Most of my driving is highway because of how things are in this area and I am regularly seeing an average of 2.7 miles per kwh after accounting for actual discharge from my lvl2 charger, and it's not even winter yet.
My local BJs has gas for 3.60 a gallon and my old mazda got 35mph highway.
So using these numbers
my old mazda was 10.2 cents per mile and my mach e is 10.3 cents per mile.
I LOVE my EV. I like the experience better than an ICE, but for years I feel like I have been getting told that driving costs would be slightly lower. That doesn't seem to be the case in areas like mine

💬 Discussion Considering looking for another Mach-E
Found an awesome Mach-E near me, 2023 GT in Grey, looked great, 12k miles. 35k after fees / before taxes, but the ford dealership said they couldn't print ford service records when I requested. Had some modem issues and after troubleshooting ended up calling and being told to schedule an internal reset at my preferred ford, as it's not communicating since a few days before leaving the dealership.
While scheduling they printed out my Oasis report for me, including warranty work. It showed 75 hours of repaint work, with the doors/trim/liftgate removed. I do notice more road noise than I would expect, and when looking closer theres 4-5 places where it wasn't put back together well and some mouldings are out of place or torn.
Really love the car but considering a return while I'm within the window and keeping my eye out for another '23 GT with low miles. I'm 6'5 so while I'd prefer a 23 GTPE or 24 GT, the seats fixed headrest is leaning towards a dealbreaker for me.
If I did return it, it would only be to buy another, feeling a bit irked the dealer insisted they couldn't print the report when I found out later they would've had access, and that a near full repaint and reassembly wasn't disclosed.
