Hello. My company has multiple users who are using these webcams for Teams meetings. A couple of weeks ago they consistently started disconnecting when joining meetings. Some users are able to toggle them back on but they intermittently get disabled throughout the meeting. Is anyone else having this issue?
So far we have removed the Synapse software, upgraded the firmware for the camera, confirmed all devices have the "allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" setting unchecked and confirmed Windows and Teams are fully up to date.

got a new phone so I've installed the work profile on my new android.
I kinda recall that I was able to change the teams ringtone for messages- but am struggling to find how I did..
I can tell I changed the message ringtone on my old android because the ringtone is not a default or usual one (i remember i changed it something unusual so I know when I hear the ringtone it's teams message)
does anyone know how to?

Hi all,
We have a number of auto attendants that forward calls that come into an outside number. When I set them up a couple years ago, what we saw was that any call that was forwarded to an outside number had the original caller ID stripped off and replaced with the caller ID of the AA. I did some research and everything I found said this was normal for Teams AAs and there wasn't any way around it. So today I was looking at some things and it appears some of our AAs are keeping the caller ID of the original caller when a call is forwarded, but not all of them. We have a standard AA for all incoming calls that are set up by country. They all are set up exactly the same except for language options. They answer and give the language options and then forward to an AA for that language and one of the options forwards the call to an outside number. For some countries the caller ID is being forwarded and in others the caller ID is still being reset. I've been staring at everything, and I can't find any rhyme or reason to it. If I call into our Japan AA, I pick the language and then option 3 to forward to the outside number and the caller ID shows as the caller ID of the AA. If I call into our Netherlands AA, I pick the language and then option 3 to forward to the outside number (Same number as the Japan AA, a US number) and the caller ID shows my number not the AA.
Has anyone seen anything similar? When it didn't work at all, I could at least say that is how Teams works but I am at a loss that it is working on some AAs and not others. Thanks.

How can I make my status switch to offline or something after I've quit the app? This is on macOS. It stays green, and I'll come back the next day to find messages from people, presumably having thought I was still on.

Do any of you experience this? Usually it doesn't happen but I guess this past week I have been hearing it a lot, right now as I type I hear the teams call ringtone.
I did some research on it, apparently its more likely to happen if you have a persistent low frequency sound in the background or something like a fan/air conditioner etc. Was wondering if anyone else gets this issue, I guess easy way to deal with it is to listen to music or something. It's not like I am getting stressed or anything from work and that's causing it, I think because I am just so conditioned to hear that noise, and also even though I was in the office today plenty of people still leaving their desks and waiting for that teams ringtone to bring them back. Kind of insane how embedded Microsoft teams is into work culture nowadays.

First-contact safety tips saved our inboxes. Now, phishing scams are finding their way into Microsoft Teams chats, too.
Static warning banners telling you a sender is external or contacting you for the first time are no longer enough!
So, Microsoft Teams is introducing AI-powered, context-aware phishing detection. ️This new detection technique can scan and flag suspicious external first-contact chats before you fall for them.
What does it look for?
Instead of just looking for malicious links, it analyzes full conversation context in 1:1 and group chats to flag impersonation, social engineering, and fake external pings. When it detects suspicious content, it displays a warning banner stating, “This message could be a phishing attempt.”
If you see this warning, here’s what to do:
While reading this, you might wonder: does AI use these chats for training? Don't worry! Microsoft confirms that chat data is used strictly for security purposes and isn’t used to train AI models or for unrelated purposes.
Availability & Rollout Schedule:
Think before you click, verify before you trust, whether in your inbox or Teams chat!

Nevermind I figured it out, I needed to toggle the "Show message previews for chats and team names for channels" in the "Chats and Channels" setting.
Teams is stuck in "comfy" chat customization mode, with wider spacing, and will not change to "compact" when toggled. Changing the setting does not change the chat pane at all. This behavior is the same on the web version of Teams, as well as the Windows 11 desktop app. Previously, I had cleared the desktop app cache, and also uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I even re-imaged my computer and it's still present.
Edit for clarification: When I toggle this setting, the actual chat message do change style, but the chat side pane does not. I swear that I had my side pane more condensed weeks ago.

Error 53003 (AADSTS53003) in Teams just means a Conditional Access policy said no. The quickest way I've found to pin it down:
Ask the user for the **Correlation ID** and timestamp from "More details" on the error screen.
Entra admin center > Sign-in logs > filter by that Correlation ID.
Open the **Conditional Access** tab on the failed sign-in. The policy marked "Failure" is your culprit, and it shows which condition failed (device compliance, location, client app).
Use the **What If** tool to confirm before you change anything.
Most common causes I see: personal device not enrolled, personal VPN making the sign-in look foreign, or an old client. Please don't "fix" it by excluding the user from all policies; those exclusions tend to stay forever.
I wrote a full guide with user-side steps, related codes (53000, 53001, 53002, 53004) and a KQL query to see which policy blocks the most users: https://techyami.blogspot.com/2026/10/teams-error-code-53003.html

I'm receiving Microsoft one-time verification codes and password reset emails that I never requested. Should I be worried?
Hey everyone,
I'm getting multiple emails from the Microsoft account team containing one-time login verification codes and password reset notifications, even though I haven't requested any of them.
I've attached a screenshot showing the emails I've received. I'm concerned that someone might be trying to access my Microsoft account or reset my password without my permission.
A few questions for anyone who has experienced this:
- Is someone trying to log into my account, or could this be caused by something else?
- Does receiving these emails mean they already know my password?
- Could someone be trying to hack my account using my email address?
- What steps should I take to secure my account and check whether anyone has accessed it?
I'm not clicking any links in these emails or sharing the verification codes with anyone. I'd appreciate any advice, especially from people who have dealt with this before.
Thanks!

We migrated our PBX to Teams phone recently and most of it works absolutely fine.
However, for our central number that is routed to a group using the call queue feature, we would like to have the normal call progress tone instead of a waiting music (we are a small team and it feels more personal than being put on hold in a music queue).
I only found the workaround of using an audio file that contains the tone, but this already has the call going, which charges the caller (not sure if it would be even legal to do it because of this).
Is there some other way to pull this off or is that the only way?

Hi
We're using Jabra Evolve 2 40SE in our environment, some of our users complaining calls to their Teams phone number are automatically being answered. Especially calls to a CQ.
At first sight the problem seems to be solved by unplugging the headset and plugging it back in, but after a while the problem reoccurs.
We've updated the Teams app, cleared the cache and updated the firmware of the headset.
Is there anyone who's facing the same issues atm?
Regards

I have never in my life had so much trouble getting a phone number through teams, but KYC verification is making me want to go a different directly completely. I go through the verification. It gets rejected because my documentation isn't sufficient. Ok, fair, the document from Godaddy providing we own our domain was just the receipt email in PDF form.
And as a side note here, why the hell can't they just use DNS like everyone else does? Why is all this extra verification required???
Anyway, I log into Godaddy as my boss so I can get the "right" invoice, I go through Microsoft support, they take forever, then finally get back to me today only to tell me the domain verification request for ourcompanydomain.com was rejected because the domain was identified as a "matched public domain". What the hell does that mean? I can't find any information online about that phrase, at least none that made any sense to me, but I'm probably dropping Teams as an option for phone, even though we have Microsoft for everything else, because they're making this process absolutely miserable.
Has anyone heard that phrase before, or have any idea why we can't do something as simple as getting a phone number?

Just got the “Communities is retiring soon” notice in Teams Free. To clarify, this is the personal/consumer version, not Teams for work or school. Microsoft’s announcement.
I’m in the Teams Free Insider programme, and the corresponding community has already disappeared. Not even a goodbye 😅
As apparently one of the dozen people still using consumer Teams... what do we reckon the future is for this somewhat forgotten product?

If your tenant has Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, you’ll soon see meeting archive files generated by AI for Teams meetings. The files are stored in a SharePoint Embedded container, but they’re not intended for user consumption. Instead, AI tools like Copilot and the Facilitator agent will use meeting archive files to generate better responses to questions from meeting participants about what happened during meetings. It’s yet another file type to figure out how to govern.

Okay, this might be a really specific question, but I've been overthinking it LOL.
I have a habit of submitting my assignments, noticing something I want to fix, clicking "Undo turn in," making a small correction, and submitting again. Except I've done this an embarrassing number of times for the same assignment...
I'm not talking about document version history or whether they can manually dig through submission records. I just want to know if, when a teacher opens an assignment to grade it, there's some visible counter or indication that a student has submitted it like 15 times. Basically, does my teacher know I've been fighting for my life in the submission tab, or does he just see my latest submission?
Would especially appreciate an answer from teachers who've used Teams for assignments!

I facilitate a large Team (1400+) people. For the past 2-3 years, I've been using the "send personal invites" toggle to invite everyone to a monthly meeting. This week, that toggle has disappeared. My admin is not aware of a new update and we are working on submitting a ticket with Microsoft. Anyone else experience this or know what might be happening?

I've used this extension to successfully download meetings but I'm trying to download one now that's 3 hours long and I'm getting the error "Segment failed: HTTP 500". Does anyone know why? Is there limit to the meeting length that can be downloaded?

Hello everyone,
I saw a post in this sub regarding microphone problems in Microsoft Teams with the Yealink A10. We use this device at work as well, so I took one home and think I found a fix (I'll test it at work tomorrow to confirm).
The problem was that the microphone worked fine everywhere else (e.g., Discord or WhatsApp audio calls) but not in Microsoft Teams. Even the camera's speaker-tracking function worked correctly during testing.
The usual fixes didn't work: checking for software updates (it was already running the latest version) or even performing a factory reset.
After the second reset, I set it up in Device Mode from the selection screen instead of choosing Teams or Zoom.
Then I went into the Windows settings and applied the following:
System > Sound > Input
Click on Yealink and, under "Set as default audio device", set it to "Default for communications".
Then set the format to 2-channel, 16-bit, 32000 Hz (FM radio quality).
After that, try testing the microphone in the Windows sound settings (mine showed about 20% input volume). Then I tested it in Teams, and it worked perfectly.
(Windows setting names may be different, as English is not my first language.)

Hello,
Recently, the Microsoft Teams desktop app has started showing the message mentioned in the screenshot.
Additionally, my Teams status is not staying as Available. It automatically changes to Away/Offline, and even if I manually set it back to Available, it changes back to Away after some time even when screen is ON and while I work on other apps.
I’m also experiencing significant delays with messages and notifications in the Teams desktop app. I’m missing several messages because they are not being updated or received on time. Interestingly, the Teams mobile app receives the messages first, while the Windows desktop app takes much longer to update.
I’m using the latest Microsoft Teams app for work on a Windows 11 computer.
Teams version : 26260.1717.5229.7049
Please suggest
Thanks
