Why I support Tommy Tuberville for governor: op-ed from former Mobile mayor Sandy Stimpson

Thank god this is pay-walled.

I've been telling y'all what stimpy really is for years to ridicule, stalking, harassment, invasion of privacy and surveillance.

I've been right most of the time too. I've avoided saying that but I am now.

He's scum. It was quite a choice to endorse this racist, misogynistic, lying, traitorous, idiotic POS that is tubs.

Truly they deserve each other. Stimpy was just better at hiding his evil depravity from some.

This will not be the last time you hear about stimpy - mark my words. And his buddy the new mayor needs to be careful what corruption he may or may not want to wallow around in since he was literally handed a baton and kept most of his corrupt staff.

I'll always be your Huckleberry ❤️

Jobs Bakeries with a healthy work environment?

• Upvotes

Hello! I’m a Mobile resident who is trying to help his girlfriend find a workplace that she likes. She is formally trained in pastry arts, and I truly believe she would make a great addition to any bakery. She works very hard, to her own detriment. Her current employer basically garnishes the whole team’s tips with the excuse that they use the tips to buy employees lunch on Thursday, but there’s no way that all of the weekly tips are needed for the lunch of maybe 5 employees. They just pocket the rest. I know that’s unrelated, but I had to mention it because it pisses me off! Basically anywhere that doesn’t do stuff like that would be a great recommendation. Thank you.

Quality Inn Downtown..news

Why now are the city leaders trying to limit the hotel height to 15 stories?

Isn't the property going to be next to the other highrise they are going to build on the civic center land?

Mobile is always not trying to think big on project.

Another example is only having five gates at the new airport.

They should have went ahead and built it bigger from the get go

Mississippi is leaving Alabama to wallow in last place

MS has been making me proud. The investments they've made in the educational system has them now ranked 29th in the nation. They usually hovered with us around last place.

They have a lottery, and there's talk they'll be legalizing cannabis soon.

I may move.

No one heckled trump at the Mitchell Center when he came to Mobile. I was disappointed in y'all.

But MS let him have it with this beauty.

Do better Alabama.

I was busy outside the venue protesting thinking you people had it covered inside.

Re: Who is responsible? Mobile council seek answers as FBI investates $14.7 loss

This is a throw away account, I am not sure how many questions can be answered or if I’ll be able to respond at all.

On 10/20/2026 the mayor sent out an email to all city employees that stated "We are cooperating fully with the investigators and taking every available step to recover the funds and bring the responsible party to justice." However they have yet to punish the internal negligent party responsible for approving the initiation of these transfers.

As of today they have fired one lower level employee and suspended two more, while I don’t have the full range of information on why they were fired and suspended I do fully believe they are being used as scapegoats for the Executed Director that actually made the call to initiate the transfer of funds. The three lower level employees were simply the people that moved the money under orders.

For those of you wondering where the money that got taken from the city came from, it is the Real Estate Asset Management Department. The individual in charge of the department that gave the orders to transfer the money is Carleen Stout-Clark. If you were curious about the timeline, this occurred a few weeks ago and they stalled the release of information.

For those that are curious as to if she is facing any disciplinary action for this, the answer is no. She is being allowed to get away with this negligence, like she has time and time again. Whether it was an accident or not, she needs to be held accountable for her actions. Unfortunately, this will not happen due to her wealth and status. She gained her position through her relationships with the higher-ups in the city. She forced the resignation of two previous directors of Real Estate Asset Management and the Architectural Engineering Department so that she can gain the total control she wants.

She has also been slowly firing and forcing resignations of several Architects and Project Managers in the Architectural Engineering Department and instead of hiring new project managers, she has hired Volkert to bring in 2 of their project managers for a total cost of ~$33,000.00 a month.

So, if you're wondering where all your tax dollars are going, that's it. It is going to the destruction of the careers of civil servants. Soon your public facilities will fall into disrepair because she allowed the transfer of 15 million and is consistently paying an outside organization to 33K a month, among many other issues.

Advice Has anyone utilized the Neighborhood Renewal Program?

I bought my first home here 2 years ago & the land directly next to me is abandoned. I’ve never seen anyone on it, & it’s a vacant .5 acre lot that is super overgrown with lots of brush from years of neglect. Today I was outside in my yard & it occurred to me to find out more info on it, & after some digging I found it has about 20 years of back taxes owed, totaling way more than what the property is worth. I also found the obituary of the last recorded owner. This led me down another rabbit hole to see if it would be possible to acquire the land for myself, & I came across the city’s Neighborhood Renewal Program but can’t find anything about it other than the application. I would love to hear if anyone has used this program, if it was worth their time, & any advice on how bids work for this sort of thing. It says that the program “steeply discounts” the price, but idk if that means it will cost us $100 or 10k haha. I just feel like it would be cool to double the size of my yard & increase my property value for cheap!

To the trolls that have systematically started downvoting my post - get a life you triggered snowflakes.
I’m glad I can keep you fascist Nazi losers entertained, but you will be paying for it.
That I promise.
And more than likely it’s law enforcement - same ones that dump trash in my yard daily.
What a pathetic existence. But it’s about to get a lot worse I promise you.

Advice Going into a trade

Hello all, I’m(f22) currently going to Bishop State for Computer Systems(first time college student) and I wanna go back for a trade. I graduate in Fall 2027 so 2 more semesters. I wanna go back for a trade but I’m unable to decide on which. Considering my bad left foot(flat/plantar) I want to have a good chance at physical work that makes me happier than the AI takeover and over saturated market that I’m gonna have to deal with trying to get a job as a programmer or help desk.

I’ve been thinking electrical then aviation then process maintenance etc etc. How should I go about deciding? If this helps I don’t plan on moving and if I do it’s not very far or out of state but I want something that will bring me happiness and I know that depends on where I go but I also know trades get repetitive and monotonous etc.

Any advice, tips or encouragement would help!
