Text Review KTC M27P6S Technical review | Color Accuracy & Response Time Measurements

Hey everyone! I’m IMartz, a monitor reviewer from Spain. I’ve tested the KTC M27P6S and wanted to share some measurements and a few details beyond the glossy panel and 2,304 dimming zones.

A few findings from my unit running firmware 1.01:

  • Glossy coating: In my experience, it reflects even more than a glossy WOLED, so room lighting matters quite a bit.
  • Local dimming: High reduces blooming, but dims small highlights and makes vignetting more noticeable. In DisplayHDR with LD High, I measured around 765 nits at 2% versus 1,668 nits full-screen.
  • Color and response times: Even Warm is too cool out of the box. Standard overdrive averaged 5.54 ms at 160Hz with low overshoot.
  • 320Hz overdrive quirk: It’s locked in the OSD but adjustable through KTC’s software, where the settings are shifted by one step: selecting “Off” actually applies Standard.
  • MPRT + VRR: Both can be enabled together, but I experienced substantial flickering and the MPRT preset sometimes disabling itself.
  • Input lag with LD: Other reviews have reported increased latency with local dimming enabled. Using OSRTT/LDAT, I observed occasional spikes but couldn’t identify a consistent trigger or reliably reproduce the reported increase on my unit. That doesn’t rule it out, but my results aren’t conclusive.
  • Checkerboard contrast: In my 3×3 SDR test at 100% OSD brightness, the KTC went from around 1,040:1 with local dimming off to 3,400:1 with LD High—a relatively modest result for a Mini LED. The older Xiaomi G Pro 27i reached 9,620:1 with LD Medium in the same test, despite having half as many zones (1,152 vs 2,304). More zones didn’t translate into higher checkerboard contrast here.

At first glance, on display in a brightly lit store, the glossy finish and Mini LED FALD backlight could make you mistake it for an OLED. Once you spend some time actually using it, though, the differences become obvious, particularly with blooming and how small highlights are handled.

For general gaming, I’d personally go with a 1440p OLED, especially with GPU prices being what they are here in Europe. But if you’ll make good use of the 4K resolution and can live with the issues I showed in the video, I think the M27P6S is worth considering—particularly since it can be found for under €400 here in Europe.

Spanish is my native language, so the video is in Spanish, but you can watch it in English using YouTube’s translation feature. My website is also available in English, and the link below should open directly in English.

Discussion Sick and tired of the OLED market!

Its been 5 years since oled gaming moniters have come out and all the industry has been doing is bread crumbing us for years, there are 34inch gen 5 qd oleds but no 27 or 32 inch. It has been 2 years we still on gen 3 27inch 1440p qd oleds. Oh look new tandem gen 4 woleds! Never mind! Banding and dse issues. "Theres new monitor coming out next year" the next qd oled coming out in the UK is a gen 4 qd oled 320hz in 6 months..... you can buy a gen 5 34 inch at 360hz

Im locked to buying a 4k monitor which i will never use to its potential, or a 34inch that costs an arm and a leg will suffer from inverse burn in.

Wtf is going on, whens this going to end.

Discussion Why do FPS gamers not use IPS?

Sup folks,

I’m currently thinking about buying an 240hz IPS monitor at an affordable price for CS2 , Apex and Valorant. While doing some research i found out that pros, streamers and high rank players almost all use either TN or OLED. I wonder why that is? I know that OLED has a lower ms, but why do they use TN with horrible colors?

Discussion Problem with new monitor when using with PS5

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have got the MSI MAG 273QP QD-OLED X24 recently. It is brand new.

The picture quality looks amazing and I like the upgrade. However one thing is driving me crazy. I'm using it for my PS5. When I load a game or application, it will show the game background for 1 second then the screen turns fully black for approximately 7-15 seconds then loads. Same issue happens when closing the game.

I noticed when I turn 120hz off and VRR off (on my PS5) it fixes the issue. But the issue remains with apps like YouTube but shorter (5 seconds). Can anyone please help? Is this a fault or can I fix this? I genuinely cant be bothered going through the return process which takes weeks unless i really have to. Everything is good except this one problem.

Is it normal for an OLED to have this weird uneven look? I am not really sure how to describe this. It’s like light coming through linen blinds or something lol.

It happens with HDR on or off. I dont notice it in content/gaminf, only in windows apps or normal programs like claude, web browsing.

Monitor: Gigabyte MO27Q2A 27” QD OLED. Only about 100 hours of use time

Discussion Is the Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10 Worth It for €530? OLED Pixel Shift and 30 FPS Gaming Concerns

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I have a question for you guys!

I recently came across the Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10 4K monitor, which apparently launched in the US a few months ago for around $1,000. I can currently get it for €530, which seems like a pretty good deal.

What do you guys think about this monitor? Is it worth buying? Does anyone here actually own one, and what has your experience been like?

I haven’t been able to find that many reviews, but most of the ones I’ve found seem to be positive.

However, there are two things I’m a little concerned about, especially since this would be my first OLED monitor.

  1. Pixel Shift

I recently found out that this monitor has a Pixel Shift feature that apparently cannot be disabled. I’ve read that some people find it annoying because the image shifts slightly to prevent burn-in.

Does it actually bother you when using the monitor? Is it something you can notice during normal gaming, or is it pretty much unnoticeable? I have quite sensitive eyes, so I’m a little worried that it might bother me.

  1. How bad is 30 FPS gaming on OLED?

I’ve also heard that 30 FPS games can look really bad on OLED displays because of the fast pixel response times and the way motion is displayed.

I’m considering buying this monitor partly in preparation for GTA 6. I’ll mainly use it with my PS5, but I might also connect my ROG Ally while it’s docked and my Switch 2.

Since GTA 6 might run at 30 FPS on consoles, I’m wondering how noticeable the difference would be compared to my current monitor. Would playing GTA 6 at 30 FPS on an OLED really feel that bad, or is it something you can get used to?

Right now, I’m using a 1080p IPS monitor, and I’m actually very happy with it. I just feel like upgrading to 4K OLED, especially since this monitor is currently available at what seems to be a really good price.

Would you recommend making the upgrade, or would I be better off sticking with my current IPS monitor?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences and opinions, especially from people who own this particular monitor or have experience with 30 FPS gaming on OLED!

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Looking for a 27-inch gaming monitor for my new PC (7800X3D + RX 9070 XT)

Hey everyone,

I ordered a new PC yesterday with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RX 9070 XT, and I'm now looking for a suitable 27-inch monitor. My budget is around €300.

The games I mainly play are LoL, CS2, and Guild Wars 2.

I'm getting a bit overwhelmed by the monitor market, as it feels like every model has its own drawbacks. Opinions on different panel types seem to vary quite a lot, too. For example, many people swear by Nano IPS, while others report eye strain or other eye-related issues with it.

I'd prefer to avoid OLED for now, mainly due to budget constraints. However, if there's a really good OLED monitor available for around €300, I'd be open to considering it.

Which monitors would you recommend, and what has your personal experience been like? I'm happy to hear specific model recommendations as well. I'd be particularly interested in your experiences with image quality, motion clarity, and any potential downsides in everyday use.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Discussion For those with monitors older than 5 years, what model you've got?

About to buy a new monitor to replace my old broken Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD, that served me well for over 10 years. I'm not as concerned about the features and more concerned about the longevity, as reading some of the posts here, you get the picture that some of the new monitors aren't really built to last.

Discussion Residual shadows on low contrast setting on the PG27UCWM

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Two weeks ago i received my brand new PG27UCWM, and as my eyes are kinda weak, i set the contrast and the brightness both around 30-35. I started to notice that when i open a black window or when there is shadows on a white screen (like on the firefox homepage), after 10 or 15 seconds the shadows are kinda "printed" on the screen, so when i go to a blank white screen the shadows remain for 30 seconds approximately.

I did some more test and it appears that every contrast setting below 70 (brightness doesn't affect it) the shadows remains. Above 70 the problem does not appear.

I contacted ASUS and they asked me to send it back to get a brand new one. I received the new unit today and... the problem remains!

If you have a PG27UCWM can you do the test for me? Maybe it's an issue inherent to the technology or something that can be solved through a firmware update? Or bad luck for me with to bad units!

Discussion Best 27” 1440p IPS monitors under $200 for triple-screen sim racing?

Hey guys! I’m currently using a 34” 1440p VA ultrawide monitor on my sim racing rig, but I’m planning to switch to a triple 27” 1440p setup.
I’m looking for flat IPS monitors, preferably with very thin bezels since they’ll be sitting side by side. Good colors and overall image quality are important to me, along with decent response times and at least 144Hz.
My budget is around $200 per monitor. I know I can’t expect anything premium at this price, but I’d really like to find something that stands out in terms of panel quality and overall performance.
Are there any particular models you’d recommend? I’d love to hear your experiences, especially if you’re already running a triple-monitor setup.
Thanks!

🚨 20 DAYS & NO REPLACEMENT! My gaming monitor replacement (RMA: INSS261000494) has been approved for 20 days, but ViewSonic corporate refuses to ship it. As an esports player, this is destroying my career and livelihood. Frontline support offers zero help. I have filed an official government complaint (NCH Grievance: 10542928). Fix this immediately! u/viewsonic_india u/viewsonic

Grievance Against: ViewSonic India (Technology/Electronics Sector) Service Partner involved: F1 Info Solutions & Services, Ahmedabad Hub

Subject: Severe Deficiency of Service, False Assurances, and Financial/Professional Loss due to Unresolved Monitor Replacement Case ID: INSS261000494

Respected Authority,

I am filing this formal grievance against ViewSonic India for an extreme deficiency of service and gross negligence that has been ongoing for 20+ days, directly impacting my professional livelihood as an esports player.

Grievance Timeline & Facts:

  1. On 9th October 2026, I registered a formal breakdown complaint for my ViewSonic monitor under Case ID: INSS261000494.
  2. On 10th October 2026, an authorized technician from ViewSonic's local service partner (F1 Info Solutions) visited my residence in Ahmedabad, inspected the device, and officially approved a 1-to-1 brand new unit replacement. The technician explicitly committed to resolving the swap within a maximum of 10 days.
  3. It has now been 20 days. When contacted, the F1 Service Center states that the replacement stands fully approved from their end, but ViewSonic India has failed to dispatch the product from their warehouse hub.
  4. ViewSonic's centralized helpline is offering zero transparency. The support staff continually repeats scripted responses ("We understand your concern, please wait"), flatly refuses to connect me with senior management, and provides no concrete dispatch timelines. Furthermore, multiple official emails sent to their support channels have been completely ignored.

Impact: This monitor is not a leisure device; it is a primary tool for my competitive esports career and a source of earnings. This indefinite, uncoordinated delay by the brand is causing me direct professional regression and active financial loss.

Remedy Sought: I request the intervention of the Consumer Helpline to compel ViewSonic India to either:

  1. Provide the exact dispatch details, tracking number, and delivery date of my brand new replacement unit within 24 hours.
  2. Or, issue a full refund of the invoice amount immediately so I can procure an alternative device elsewhere and resume my work.

I have attached the original invoice, the technician's visit/approval proof, and copies of my unanswered emails for your reference.

Thank you, Harshil Bajaji Phone: 9106618604 Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Discussion Asking for recommendation for upgrading to a 1440p monitor from a 1080p

I currently have a VG278Q and decided it was finally time to upgrade my monitor to a 1440p one (non OLED) since I own a 7800 XT. Here are the options I'm currently considering:

  1. AOC Q27G3XMN 180Hz - $229.99: Watched Monitors Unboxed' "Best 1440p Gaming Monitors of 2026" video where he mentioned this one and the Q27G40XMN (which appears to be mostly unavailable).
  2. AOC Q27G4ZMN 240Hz - $303.04: I've seen this at better prices (like around +$50 more than the G3), but it looks to be around the $300 price point at the moment.
  3. AOC Q27G4SMN 300Hz - $269.99: Interesting price, but not sure if I even need a 300Hz monitor. Also heard complaints about the stand for this one and for the G4ZMN, and setting up a mount would be a bit of a nuisance in my current setup.
  4. Acer Nitro MG275U X2biippx - $229.99: This one is a more recent model and I haven't seen many reviews about it, but the price is very attractive.

Haven't done much research about HDR, and how it works on each of these models, so if you know anything that could be helpful, I'm very interested in learning more!

Please also feel free to let me know of other models as well!

Discussion Technical question: Can close placement of studio monitors cause edge panel degradation over time? (Photos attached)

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get a second opinion from the collective intelligence here regarding a weird issue with my dual-monitor setup (two identical ASUS VG248QG 24" 165Hz TN monitors).

The Problem:

Both monitors are developing vertical line artifacts/discoloration right on their outer edges. On the left monitor, it's on the far left edge, on the right monitor, it's on the far right edge and a bit more pronounced/extends slightly further into the screen. (Note: The attached photos show the right monitor).

The Setup & Potential Cause:

Due to space constraints on my desk, I have active studio monitors (Yamaha HS7) placed directly next to the displays, with only about 2 to 3 cm of clearance between the speaker housing and the screen bezel.

After a lot of troubleshooting, I suspected that electromagnetic interference (EMI) or heat coming from the rear-mounted electronics/transformers of the Yamaha HS7 might be causing this damage over long daily use.

My Questions to You:

1. Do these artifacts look like typical EMI damage or magnetic/heat degradation from studio monitors placed this close? Or could this be a cable issue (already checked, but open to ideas)?

2. Is this kind of edge damage permanent (irreversible), or is there any chance it can fade or be fixed?

Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Monitor advice please

I got a lenovo loq 15irh8 laptop with 16gb ram, i7 processor and a rtx4060 i think with 115W, not sure works good so far, I'm planing to buy a gaming monitor to my single room. I like to play CS2, my laptop can do around 240 fps in that and other rpg games. My budget is about £300-400.

This is the 2 I'm looking at currently:

Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor - AW2726DM, QHD (2560x1440), 240Hz, QD OLED - £375

MSI MAG 274QPF X30MV

27-Inch WQHD Monitor, 2560 x 1440 Rapid VA, 300Hz, 0.5ms, HDR 1000, mini-LED, HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4a - £375, thiws was 270 a few weeks ago.

I'm waiting for my BT £175 mastercard voucher so I got a month to do my research. I want to stay around 300 but I can stretch my budget.

Any recommendations?

I'm considering getting this monitor to replace my defective ASUS VG27A5QA; I thought ASUS was good quality bruh, it lasts for 5 month. What do you think about this monitor, is there any other alternative at $200 price range? Also, should I be concerned about the Dell/Alienware warranty service?

Video Review Does Lenovo Legion 24-15 support VRR on PS5?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!
I'm thinking about buying the Lenovo Legion 24-15 (23.8", 1080p, 240Hz), which is currently on sale for around 750 DKK in Denmark.
I mainly want to use it with my PS5 for gaming, especially MW4, and VRR compatibility is very important to me.
The monitor has AMD FreeSync Premium and HDMI 2.1 , but I can't find any confirmation that PS5 VRR actually works with it.
Has anyone tested this exact monitor with a PS5?
Does the PS5 recognize it as VRR-compatible?
Can you enable VRR in the PS5 video settings?
I'd really appreciate any first-hand experience before I buy it. Thanks!

I bought a Samsung G6 500Hz OLED monitor today. When the store took it out of the box for inspection, I asked the employee how to remove the white sticker in the middle of the monitor. He told me there is a protective film that I could remove with my fingernail?!!!

Isn't there supposed to be a red sticker on the screen?

When I shine my phone's camera flash on the screen, I can see lots of scratches. Are these scratches on the screen itself, or are they on the protective film that I'm supposed to remove?

Discussion Neuer Monitor Oled mit 9070xt

Budget wäre so 700€. Wichtig wäre auch HDMI 2.1 das ich auch mal die ps5 anschließen kann.

Danke für eure Tipps.

Bought a new 1440p 27’ ips panel and thought to check the backlit leak, this is what I got with my AE AF lock on and sun slider to lowest possible, I could only see an uniform dark grey screen with no distracting patches, what do you guys think?
