I was banned for a similar comment.
reddit.comI made a similar comment on this post. Here is the comment verbatim:
“The kid looks vaguely ethnic. Maybe they should self-deport.”
How the FUCK does my comment result in a 7 day ban, while the one above does not?!? I see videos posted daily that glorify violence against women, minorities, and the lgbtq+ community. How exactly is my comment over the line?!?

I'm laughing in pure frustration. The comment wasn't even explicit or violent.

Stupid Reddit
galleryGot a warning from Reddit for “encouraging violence” because I commented it was “satisfying watching her whoop his ass”
Reddit said I was encouraging violence and physical harm. It’s a sparring video!!! He’s wearing sparring pads to keep him safe!!! God Reddit is so dumb sometimes.

Why are redditors such lame unfunny losers?
Seriously it feels like only the outcasts of the internet hang out here. Every attempt at a joke is either 40 years outdated, or horrendously unfunny, and people react to the most mundane of mundane "taboo" shit like sex or alcohol or drugs like you just showed them a bestgore video. Is this website seriously nothing but losers or is it like twitter and I just haven't found the right place yet?

Reddit is run by totalitarian bots. I've been banned from every group I joined and I've been here a week.

just stupid Banned from the MarvelStudios subreddit because I dont think the casting for Emma is not as good a choice as everyone else keeps thinking it is. How bloody typical. 😮💨
galleryWhat, just because I feel like the character needs to have someone to be as accurate to the comic character as possible right down to the bust size, it deserves to be faced with this much scrutiny? Especially to where it results in a ban and a cowerdly mute from the cowardly Mods running it?!
Really just says a lot about how much these morons were simping for this chick way too hard here.🤦🏾♂️

Why Reddit is shit
Moderators can block or ban someone because a view point isn’t theirs, it goes against the grain, or they just flat out disagree. I’m not complaining about bans in this specific group, but bans across others.
It’s happened to me now 4 or 5 times in pretty large groups. Not groups I was even apart of, but groups that Reddit algorithms pushed onto me. Over basketball, politics, and now HOA’s.
When Reddit signs massive deals with Google and others to push their view points onto others this is very concerning. It becomes a global group think tank.

factual I hate misinformation (and that we cannot report it) 😭
galleryThis person is spreading blatant misinformation about neuroscience, pharmacology and psychology, using fancy words and mixing peer reviewed research with news and people’s experiences as their reliable source, to confidently tell people things like “you feel sleepy after adhd meds because it’s a metabolic stimulant and causes metabolic crash which is pretty normal” - okay so we don’t need to let our prescribers know then??
I’m a psychopharmacologist and neuropharmacologist with two phds. They think I cannot understand the terminology but unfortunately for them I can understand everything, from NMDAR to corticosteroids. My specialties were ion channels and endocrinology lmao.
I find this really disheartening because people will believe them and get harmed. Misinformation kills! I really don’t know what to do , I can’t even report them. Attached are some of their contributions and the sources they cited.

Quality Post Reddit: the most surface level place on the internet where you can meet the worst people
apparently you get ridiculed for calling out perversion masqueraded as humor. Like you have to dive deep into the deep web to find as people as weird and cruel as this, and then there’s just Reddit which has a literal incest subreddit for everyone to see.

MAGA attacking my girlfriend and I in Ohio at a Vivek ramaswamy meeting in Ohio is not relevant apparently

I hate how reddit keeps shoving subreddits I didn't ask for in my face
No reddit, I do not want to see the five millionth racist incel subreddit that you have

Quality Post RedditCares (officially Reddit Care Resources). Is perhaps the most glaring, ironic, and toxic example of how a beautiful, well-intentioned digital tool can be corrupted and turned into a weapon for systemic bullying.

Why is Reddit filled with the most insufferable people on planet earth?
It never fails, some smartass will comment something completely irrelevant to seem smart or they start an argument over literally nothing.
r/Negareddit • u/Anxious_Glass_5978 • 3d ago
So many people on this website are fucking insufferable
Dear redditors, life isn't a cartoon. Being incredibly smug and rude to everyone you encounter makes you an asshole, not smart and endearing.

Thought this was funny
gallerySome guy complaining about me having an opinion, played him the world’s tiniest violin and got removed and banned for 28 days.
These boys are so sensitive lol really funny.

factual Reddit is so bad that I'm reading books again
Bittersweet thing. I go through phases of coming and leaving. This site was always problematic, but plenty of people had a baseline level of empathy, etiquette, and common sense. It was my go-to place to put my thoughts out there, and to read other people's experiences.
Now online etiquette is fading - people comment before reading and don't proofread before posting. I'm also sick of how ass backwards Redditors are. You're accused of being "lazy" if you were ever poor; and apparently realizing that women, children, and LGBTQ+ people are human beings who exist and have their own valid lives and perspectives is some sort of "deep, groundbreaking" discovery.
I've said "fuck it" and replaced a large chunk of my Reddit time with books. I still miss the back-and-forth interaction, but at least my brain is being nourished and some of my social anxiety has faded. Nowadays I'm here moreso to support others, than vice versa. Wondering who else here has been having similar experiences.
