[META POST] Ever wondered what that big box building originally was? Couldn't find an answer to what that Burlington Coat Factory, Gabe's, or Roses store used to be? Chances are it was probably an old discount department store such as Ames, Hills, Zayre, Jamesway, etc. (more info in comments)

Credit to Tiffany Small of the City of Lewisville Facebook group for the photo, which dates back to Bojangles' opening last year. Conversion has not yet been captured on Google Maps.

Bojangles heavily renovated the facade, but the general structure and front windows remain general indicators that the building used to be Boston Market. Also, an easier tell is Bojangles reusing Boston Market's sign frame!

A former Long John Silvers converted to a clothing boutique and dentist's office in Asheville, North Carolina, now demolished

This location seems to have closed in the mid-1970s.

From 1975-1981, two clothing boutiques operated out of the space (The Prissy Hen from 1975-1979, and Hunter & Coggins in 1980). In 1981 it became the dental office of Dr. Paul A. Tescione, who occupied the building until the mid-2000s. It sat vacant until it was demolished between 2022-2023.

Regal just did some renovations that made the inside look less like a magic inside but retained the exterior mostly unchanged. They painted over the film strip sign tower and put the current logo on it removed from the film reel the Cinemas sign and pained over the "film" detail trim in flat black.
