Politics/Elections Municipal Election Information Thread

Municipal Election season is upon us so I decided it's time to make an informational post. Elections PEI will perform the elections in five Municipalities across the Island however other municipalities are still holding elections on their own. All elections should be held on November 2nd. If you are unsure which municipality you are apart of or if you are a part of one a map can be found here.

Information on the Elections run by Elections PEI is best found here.

If you live in one of the other Municipalities some general information can be found here. Below you'll find links to all Municipal websites, where possible I will link to the notice of election. Communities in bold are having a vote, still looking for candidates, or their status is unknown at time of this posting. Names that are not bolded have had all their positions filled by aclimation.

Concerning Post in Local Group

Post image
• Upvotes

I just saw this post in a local PEI group regarding an absolutely heinous interaction they had with an individual in Charlottetown. This is completely unacceptable. Sharing here for awareness of this situation.

Hate has no place in this province.

Submitting as an FYI for those who park at the mall to get the bus downtown, to UPEI, etc.

Should the province have a tow truck parked on both sides of the Hillsborough bridge during morning/evening rush hour?

STI testing

I was recently cheated on and want to make sure I’m clean. I no longer have a family doctor, where should I go for testing? Is a walk in clinic my only option?

Question Changing pharmacies

I’m moving to Summerside, and need to change pharmacies.
I’ve heard different insights about each one, but looking for some other opinions.
I’ve had bad experiences in the past.
Most important for me is having longer hours as I tend to work late.
Thanks folks!

Question Acclaimed Councillors in Stratford

Anybody know anything about the 2 new councillors in Stratford Ward 2? Political positions or beliefs? Or email addresses so I can ask them myself?

All I’ve been to find is that Jeff McEntee is Director of IT for Northumberland Ferries.

Patrick Ross owns China Garden and has run for council unsuccessfully twice prior to being acclaimed this year.

Edit: Apparently the Patrick Ross that ran unsuccessfully in the past is a different Patrick Ross.

Hi, my son wants a Charlottetown Islander hoodie for Xmas. I’m from Sask and was wondering if someone could point me to a site that sells their merch for them? Thanks!

Local business reposting n*zi and white supremacist content

EDIT: since posting this, the account has gained followers. Disgusting.

BigTime Construction's owner, or at least someone who runs their page is reposting extremely distressing content. Genuinely unsure where else to post this.

I noticed someone left a very racist comment on another local business' page so I checked their profile and they were wearing a big time construction shirt. I went to their profile to let them know about the comment, but it's clear to me after looking at the company's reposts, that it's the same person. I've screen recorded to show their reposts currently before they private them. This is honestly so scary to see here on PEI.

Do not support this business.

Due to personal reasons, I'm no longer able to attend tonight's performance of Thane Dunn as Elvis in Concert at the Confed Centre. I have two tickets in row C that were about $100 total. If anyone is interested in attending, please shoot me a message with an offer!

In August 2026, Elections PEI referred an Investigation to the PEI RCMP which resulted in an official agent for the Party being charged with 42 Election Expenses Act Offences.

The offences are centered around donations made to the Prince Edward Island Progressive Conservative Party in 2025 that were made in contravention of the Election Expenses Act or not reported in accordance with the Election Expenses Act. These are summary offences that could carry a maximum penalty of $1000 fine for each offence. The accused will appear in Provincial Court on October 29, 2026 at 09:00 a.m. at Charlottetown Provincial Court.

Wind

Sweet Jesus Murphy this island is windy. Easily the most wind I remember within the months of May- October (foliage on trees, generally pretty nice months). Winters a different story lol that wind is just numbing, you don’t even know it’s happening.

Upside is no hurricanes- but far more windy days.

UPDATE: Rielly made it to the Wildcard Round! (Stan Lee's Super Kid Contest) 🦸‍♂️

Hey everyone!

I wanted to pop back in and say a huge THANK YOU to everyone on the island who cast a vote for my son Rielly last night!

Last night's deadline was an absolute nail-biter—he was bouncing back and forth between 1st and 2nd place in the final seconds! After the official vote verification, he made it into the Wildcard Round!

The Wildcard Round is a super quick 3-day sprint that ends this Sunday evening. All the vote counts have reset to zero, so everyone starts fresh today.

If you have 5 seconds today, casting a free daily vote for him would mean the world to us and help him punch a ticket to the Quarterfinals!
