October Update | 10/10 and other things

Parts and Pricing Update

  • Currently seeing low stocks on a lot of models in distro listings
  • Prices have also increased as expected, so much that RETAIL PRICES ARE LOWER THAN DISTRIBUTOR PRICES in the AI Affected parts
  • I can also confirm AMD GPUs have also risen, and retail prices have not been affected yet.
  • CXMT, while already having consumer products, also have prices similar to the other brands Link

As such I would highly suggest making full use of promotions if you are in need of parts. However, if not, then I suggest to prepare for emergencies instead (with El Nino, Oil Crises etc)

Regarding Promotions

  • Lazada/Shopee and likely other platforms give vouchers and discounts based on the user. Similar to dynamic pricing (but with vouchers
    • As such, prices below are what I can confirm, you may have larger or smaller discounts
  • I'll add what I can find, or if anyone comments good deals

Build Upgrade Snagged a used Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT for 20k!

Post image

Upgraded from a 3070. I was planning on buying a brand new 9060xt but found a dude online selling his used RX 6900 XT for 21k—and I managed to talk him down to 20k!

I'm using a Sama G750 and I either plan on getting new cable extensions (so that I'm not stuck with that daisy chain in the photo) or get a new psu entirely.

I have been an Nvidia user since 2006 but I finally pulled the trigger on switching to red team. I think hindi na worth it ang price ng 5070 to its performance

Build Flex Sharing my SFF Build - S450 ITX

Primarily built for editing, with some gaming on the side. Wanted something powerful, compact, and with a little unnecessary RGB.

Specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 9900X
  • GPU: AORUS RTX 5070 Master 12GB
  • MOBO: Gigabyte B850I AORUS Pro
  • RAM: 32GB Crucial Pro DDR5 6000 MHZ
  • Cooler: Corsair Nautilus 240 RS
  • PSU: Corsair SF850 Platinum 850W
  • SSD: Kingston NV3 1TB
  • Case: Shiny Snake S450 (12.4L)

I had to 3D-print a custom pump cover because the original prevented the side panel from closing (pump cover too high). Cramming an AORUS GPU and a 240mm AIO into a 12.4L case was definitely an interesting experience.

Peripherals Any advise in this shop/seller on FB?

I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask but balak kong ibigay nalang yung luma kong PC sa nephew ko since wala rin naman ibang gagamit nun. Before ko sana ibigay, gusto kong palitan yung NVMe nun to at least 1TB kaso I'm not sure where to buy a 2nd hand drive kaya nag-check ako sa FB. Then I found this page on FB named PixelBun Computer Parts and Accessories Shop, pero hindi ako sure if legit siya or scammer. This will be my first time buying from an FB seller, that's why I'm a bit hesitant. Has anyone tried buying from this seller before?

Build Help Advice needed pls ZERO KNOWLEDGE.

Need advice po. I'm planning to save up for a PC mainly for Sims 4 and other cutesy, cozy games. I might also get into Valorant and other FPS games in the future. Gagamitin ko rin siya for documents, office work, and school stuff.

My budget is around ₱30,000 - 40,000 for the whole setup, including the PC, monitor, and other essentials. I'm still a beginner when it comes to PC builds, so I’d really appreciate some recommendations on what parts to get and kung ano yung pinaka-sulit for my needs.

Would you recommend building a PC from scratch or getting a prebuilt one instead? I'm open to either option, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on kung ano yung mas worth it for my budget, especially in terms of performance and future upgrades.

Any recommendations po for a beginner like me? Thank youuu!

Build Help Buy a GPU right now or nah?

Hi guys, is it an OK time to buy a GPU right now? I am open naman to second hand ones, pero kasi even sa marketplace sobrang expensive nila. I am tempted to buy a GPU kasi I am scared that prices will go up furthermore, even for secondhand (or am I wrong for used ones?)

Anyways, suggest shops din guys for brand new and secondhand na lowest pricest and best price to quality ratio. Thanks!!!

Build Help Two PCs, one ethernet cord

So I have two PCs, one personal one and a work pc. I only have one Ethernet cord. I usually just switch that single cord to the pc I need atm but Im worried about wearing out the cord itself and both of the ports over time. I did some research and came across Ethernet switches(splitter?) but im worried about it affecting the internet speed of either pcs especially since I use them together most of the time (Personal pc will have to be on wifi in that case) do you guys have experience with this?

my room is also kinda far from the main router so adding a second ethernet cord is kinda out of the question. I also don't know much about what an ethernet switch is tbh

Build Upgrade Pls pls pls help me with me with this

I desperately NEED to move to AM4. Right now i have a 4th gen intel with a pentium CPU(wattt hahahaha) and i really need to get to the AM4 platform, since my current pc is more than a generation old and doesn't have a good upgrade path.

The current specs is

Pentium g3260

16gb DDR3 ram

2gb Quadro K620(i'm hesitating if i should include this when selling the unit)

500gb hdd

No, i am not gonna include my SSD, that's where most of my important things are.

For additional context, i am a 2nd year college student. I am not a part timer, so i am working on a tight budget. I figure if i sell this unit, and add it to my current savings of 3000 pesos, and i am expecting a 2000 pesos financial aid in december. i might just scrape by and afford a prebuilt ryzen 3 set up. I am ok if it doesn't have a GPU and if it only has 8gb ram. Honestly, i am not expecting much, and i know the current state of the pc market is in a bad position.

I'm planning on selling the system unit only. Why am i this desperate for an AM4? The CPU upgrade path while finished, is still solid.

If i were to give a rough estimate of my budget, it's probably around 8k-10k max.
