Reminder: No Cheating

If the rampant attempts to solicit or offer cheating help do not stop, I will temporarily shut down all new posts in the community.

You may discuss the exam you took in the official thread subject to r/PSAT rules and may ask for general advice but not about specific questions or vocabulary words that appeared on a test form.

Today’s psat, what the f was that

I just took my psat and it was unlike anything that I have ever seen.

First, I’ve taken 14 practice tests including all of the blue book SAT practice tests. On the PSAT ones my scores ranged from 1500-1520. And on the SAT ones I got 1520-1580 including practice tests 6 and 11

The psat I just took had a module 1 English similar to most module 2 English’s I’ve seen. Still I think I got them all right. Now about module 2.

There were 8-10 problems harder than anything I’ve ever seen in the questions I’ve done. It was ridiculous, it was harder than any SAT test or practice test I’ve taken.

Math was easy both modules, if I just had 10 more seconds I would have gotten the last mod 2 question right. But that’s ok it’ll only drop my math score by 10 points

I really hope this test has a crazy curve

math help?

i'm taking the PSAT the day after tomorrow and I feel like I'm actively getting worse at math despite studying. My first practice test I got 670, and just now I got 560. Are there any quick strategies to improve? I've been trying to learn desmos as well as I can, but I don't know what to do beyond that.

I don’t think I got any wrong in mod 1 i got 3 wrong in mod 2 and i got no wrong in math mod 1 or 2. How strict will the psat grading be since im scared if it’s gonna be too harsh.

Tired Brain?

Hey everybody,

For some reason I'm getting a lot of questions wrong and having a hard time understanding what I'm reading for the PSAT. would taking break be a good idea? The PSAT is in 2 days and I feel like I need to study, but I'm doing terrible on questions I normally would be doing fine at. It's like I can't understand what I'm reading... I'm getting plenty of sleep.. Any advice appreciated!!

PSAT NMSQT Score Prediction

RW M1: 26/27

RW M2: 24-25/27

MM M1: 22/22

MM M2: 20/22 (Stupid mistakes)

Is it possible to score in the 1400s? And what do you think the cutoff is?

I'm a sophomore, so I'm not too worried about getting a crazy score.

PSAT 10 What are all the main concepts I should master

So I’m a sophomore and the psat is tomorrow morning I haven’t done much studying for the past specificity but I’ve been studying for all my other classes which I think should help. I’ve already taken algebra 1 and 2 I’ve also taken geometry I’m in honors English 2 and I’ve basically taken the most advanced normal path my school offers. I think I’m gonna do good I’ve scored highest marks on the state assessment tests but I’m here to ask what are all the main topics and concepts to master so I can review my weak points

PSAT/NMSQT Pretty sure I bombed, what can I do going forth?

Pretty sure I bombed my PSAT that I took today. The reading section was good, but the math modules completely crushed me. I am in the 11th grade, last year I got 1050 without studying. I also did not study this year which is completely my fault. And no judgement—but I didn’t know what national merit was until AFTER taking it, so now I’m pretty bummed. My plan is to just to study really good for the SAT and hope that if I do good on it, it’ll bring better opportunities. The state I’m in provides a good scholarship that I already qualify for since my grades are pretty good, and I plan on going to an in-state college anyways. Is it going be the end of it all if I really did bomb my PSAT? Or is all hope not lost?

If I got a 670 on the Reading and Writing portion, does this mean all the questions I got wrong were Standard English Convention questions?

PSAT 8/9 PSAT 8/9 is tomorrow, general help?

Hey, first time posting here.

At the time of writing, my actual PSAT is tomorrow (10/27/26)

I was just wondering about the weighting for the questions, a 110 point drop off for 6 questions feels a little much.

I got 3 wrong on ELA and 3 wrong on math, both in module 2. And finished both sections with about 15 minutes left on each module.

Any tips?

Predict my PSAT

Reading & Writing
Module 1: 2-3 wrong
Module 2: 4-7 wrong (3 hard main idea + 1 vocab + idk the rest)

Math
Module 1: 0 wrong
Module 2: 2-3 wrong (last 2 hard problems + possibly 1 medium problem)

What score do you predict I’ll get in each section and overall?

General When should I take the PSAT?

Hi, sophomore here. I'm getting mixed responses from everyone I know as to if I should take the PSAT sophomore or junior year. I was wondering if anyone on here has some experience that they'd be willing to share!

PSAT/NMSQT How does SAT Practice 11 compare?

Especially in regards to RW, how difficult do you think this October PSAT was compared to the eleventh SAT test? Additionally, how do you think it compared to last year’s PSAT?

test day jitters

I see a lot of people talking about how hard last year's PSAT was, but when I took it last year I don't remember feeling like it was very difficult and I ended up scoring a 1480 with minimal studying. A couple weeks before this year's PSAT (I am a junior this year) I took another practice test and scored a 1490. However, I was feeling very nervous and the day before the PSAT I took a practice test and only scored a 1430. On test day, I remember feeling like the reading section was exceptionally difficult, and I even cried during the break in between reading and math. I know it is impossible to tell now, but how much do you guys think nerves can affect scores, and do I have a shot for nmsqt? I do live in a state where the cutoff is generally pretty low (210 for class of 2027). Please do not sugarcoat; I genuinely want to hear answers. My scores come out on November 5th, but every time I think about score releases I get very nauseous.
