Culebra crib rentals

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! 😊 We’re visiting Culebra in early November with our 1-year-old daughter and will be staying for one night.
Does anyone know of a local company or individual who rents pack ’n plays or portable cribs on the island? Ideally, we’d love to arrange delivery to our accommodation, but we’re open to picking it up.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey! Who knows a good affordable piercing studio northern area? I’ve tried looking on google but I’m not really seeing any. Preferably under $100 for an ear piercing

Upcoming Trip

Hi. We're scheduled to visit the island & want to stay in Aguadilla, Isabella or Rincon from December 29 - January 03 & Rio Grande from January 03 - January 09. Is the water shortage/rationing truly over & back to normal? Also, out of Aguadilla, Isabella and Rincon which is the best for sightseeing and nightlife in the evening cause we're not really beach people? Thanks 😀

Short trip - Vieques or no?

I’m going to PR in early December for 5 days including travel (arriving around 1pm Friday, leaving around 6pm Tuesday). Would it be too ambitious to go to Vieques for a night for the bioluminescent bay and horseback riding? I’m worried about wasting time with the commute to the island and weather causing potential issues for the plane/ferry, but my partner really wants to do those two things.

Do you think Vieques is worth the extra hassle for commute/accommodation? Aside from those two activities we’re looking forward to seeing the rainforest, spending time in old San Juan, and relaxing on the beach.

Recommendations for Exploring Puerto Rico as a Family?

Hi everyone!
My family and I are interested in exploring Puerto Rico, and we’d love some recommendations!

We enjoy exploring as much as possible rather than spending the entire trip at a resort. We’d love to experience the island’s natural beauty, beaches, culture, food, and some adventurous activities.

We’re considering renting a van so we can drive around and explore different parts of the island. We’re also interested in renting a private boat for a few hours to experience the coastline or nearby islands.

A few things we’d love advice on:
Where to stay: Would you recommend staying in San Juan and exploring from there, or splitting time between different parts of the island? Safety and convenience are important to us.

Must-visit places: What are some of the most beautiful or unique spots around Puerto Rico? We’re open to driving longer distances for worthwhile experiences.

Activities: Any recommendations for boat charters, scenic hikes, waterfalls, hidden beaches, or other memorable experiences?

Safety: Are there any areas or activities we should avoid, particularly when exploring as a family with a rental van?

Local experiences: We’d love recommendations for authentic restaurants, smaller towns, scenic drives, and places that might not be on the typical tourist itinerary.
We enjoy fairly packed itineraries and are open to staying in multiple locations if that makes exploring easier.

Any suggestions, including things you wish you’d known before exploring Puerto Rico, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Christmas Eve restaurant near isla verde

Hello! Me, spouse and 10yo will be in San Juan on Christmas Eve, our hotel is near isla verde area. I’m trying to find a restaurant I can make a reservation that is not a tourist trap and has some basic food options (steak, salad, chicken) my kid will eat. It does not need to be fancy. I’m worried we won’t find anywhere to eat dinner on Christmas Eve. TIA for any suggestions!

late arrival

I fly in around 2 AM, and will be spending my time in San Juan. If I was solo I would just tough it out in the airport for a few hours but I have friends who dont travel much with me. Are there any hostels with 24 hour reception that would at the very least allow us to drop bags off and we can walk to beach for a few hours or even a hostel that would let us check in at that time for a private room so as not to disturb other guests? I really dont want to pay for a hotel that night for just a few hours and I work night shift so I'm used to staying awake at that time.

Dispensary

My wife and I traveled to Puerto Rico last year and were able to get a tourist license for marijuana. Can anyone confirm there are shops near San Juan that still provide this service? Thank you!

La Parguera Bio bay luminescence

I heard the one in Vieques has gone dark. How is the one in la parguera looking? Was wondering if it is worth the trouble driving some older family members down there from SJ since they really want to see the bio bay.

best platform for getting your medical card?

Recently moved to PR & wanting to get a medical marijuana license. I was looking at different websites and there’s so many to choose from so seeing if anyone has an opinion on who’s the quickest and easiest to use? Have heard mixed things about IslandMed. Was also looking at MedCardPR and Leafwell. Any advice on the process is appreciated :)

Custom Cake San Juan

Hey!! Does anyone know a great bakery or flower shop? I’m travelling to PR for by bday and want to order a custom cake, I know Walmart does customs but they don’t take online orders and I tried calling and no answer. Is there another way I can probably reach them as I’m landing a day before my bday so I can’t place the order in person in a short time span. Or if there’s a good PR owned bakery I can pre order?

A week on one of the islands?

Hi all! This group was so helpful on our two previous trips.

We are headed there the week of January 1. Would it be crazy to just spend all of it (except the bookends) on one of the islands? We've been to both Culebra and Vieques and loved them both. I kind of like the idea of getting away from civilization and real traffic on this trip.

Has anyone done something like this? Will we regret limiting ourselves to one place? It's absurd to say we're worried about being "bored" because... we're in paradise. But I really won't know until we do it.

We will rent a jeep. I'm searching for accommodation now on both islands.

I feel like Vieques has more options in terms of restaurants, but I think I preferred the beaches of Culebra? We couldn't cover all the Vieques beaches on our trip there, so I only know of the one the west side of the island in the park, and two others.

I want to snorkel as much as possible, and probably join some groups/guides this time (I did it on my own and sometimes it was really uneasy for me without anyone around if something were to happen. My wife (f/f couple) does not enjoy it the way I do, and will likely want to do a lot of sitting on a beach and chilling.

Anyone have any arguments for a week on either island, or opinions against sitting in one spot?

Rincon excursion recommendations?

My husband and I are spending 5 days in Rincon in January. I’m curious if there are any particular excursions we should check out. We enjoy boat tours (did bio bay in La Paguera last trip) and don’t have much experience snorkeling. Otherwise we plan to lounge on the beach and eat great food.

Traveling Nov.13-21, where to base on west coast of Puerto Rico?

Hi all, my boyfriend (28) and I (26) are traveling to Puerto Rico for a week in November and are planning on dividing our stay into 2 bases. We are staying in Luquillo for a few days on east coast and can’t decide where to base on the west coast. We are not looking for a partying vibe, but more of exploring with a combination of nice clear water beaches to snorkel/swim in and possibly a hike somewhere. We also would love to eat some good food and coffee/ visit cute towns. We will be having a rental car so we do plan on driving to different areas. We have been looking at Rincon, Cabo Rojo, and Aguadillo. Does anyone have any recommendations on where it would be best for us to stay based on what we are looking for?

Note: We do not speak Spanish, only know a few words. However, we have visited other countries where we do not speak the language and did fine with google translate.
