The only hiccup in these intros has been Rogue picking on Trill, but her big squish of a boyfriend protects her by putting himself between her and Rogue until Rogue calms down.
Sorry for the lack of updates over the last few days. We are extremely busy prepping for the holiday season. We've got big stuff happening this year!
We are always in need of funds ✨ all donations are tax deductible and they go towards the resident’s medical care at Rat Way Sanctuary!

Hello,
we had 2 baby rats make their way into our home on sept 6th. The one was found asleep in a drawer and released outside that week. Full hair, eyes open, moved hella fast. The second fella on the other hand, was a wild crazy man up until he was grabbed a few days ago, oct 24th.
I have raised many of rats and rice, absolutely adore them. I am well aware that a wild rat is not a fancy rat and is a totally different animal. I do not currently own any rats, haven't for years so there is no risk any other rats.
This little fella, hid from EVERY possible humane trap I made, I would find him curled up asleep snuggling my elderly cats, then hed run down behind the beds and be MIA again. Othertimes I'd see him curled up on top of our tv cable box for warmth. I ripped the house apart trying to catch this fella, and he always won, lol. However, I woke up to 5am with something playing with my hair, and was able to catch him when he ran around inside my fitted bedsheet.
We don't have a wildlife rehab around here that accepts rats, unfortunatly. The vet I used to take my rats to when they had myco flair ups, is away on leave.
I did not have the heart to just take this guy outside in our cold Canadian weather right now ( 37F and rain) knowing he'd probably be dead within a few hours if he was lucky. I did what any other ratty person would do, I bought him a cage, proper bedding and warm accessories.
His diet before I caught him, was purely cat food, I found several piles of wet cat food and kibble that he stored and ate. Just for context.
He's now happily eating baby oxbow rat blocks that are soaked in warm water. 2 tsp human baby food turkey and veggies ( no onion no garlic ect), every 4 hours. tiny bits of banana or apple once a day. As well as about a teaspoon offering of vanilla ensure every few hours. He loves food, will sit there till it's gone.
However, he's got next to NO hair, is horribly skiny and has flaky fur.
Here is what I know: I know stress plays a major part, I assume he was terrfied his entire life up until he was caged. He comes out to visit when he hears my voice and just sits there staring at me. I have touched his feet through the cage, he just sits still to watch, then goes to hide, only to come back minute later to eat.
I'm assuming this is something horrible that he'll die from, but I am hoping someone has seen this kinda thing before. I am hoping malnutrition can do this to a baby, and he stands a chance?
Thank you. I have also put a scale in the cage, hoping to see how much he weighs. but I assume probably only a few ounces.
there is no redness, no blood spots, no scratches, no nothing. Just some pale skin under there, and the occasional sneezing.

My 7 boys had become quite restless in their introductory cage. I was hesitant, but decided to provide them with an hour of free roam outside of their cage with various throughly cleaned and new neutral accessories.
^ To my shock, all boys have been absolutely amazing and there have been zero issues.
However, during free roam, Bandit found out how to access my NEW $400 loft bed which has a heavy weighted blanket filled with beans. I’m quite annoyed, but found this super funny. My only downside now is, I have to find a way to completely prevent access.
Bandit is the smartest rat in the mischief. He is also the most hyper, energetic and crazy rat I’ve ever met.
(He’s also super affectionate 🥺)

His BLIND brother was walking around with a boiled egg in his mouth going to a little hidey hole corner to gnaw on it when this RAVENOUS BEAST saw him with the egg in his mouth and IMMEDIATELY AND VIOLENTLY swiped it from him and ran away leaving his BLIND BROTHER with NO EGG!

I wasn't sure if the girls would like it since it's not fleece but Yuki gave it her seal of approval immediately. Definitely have to make some more now.

Frankie here is a 700g Thug, he is in constant stand offs and showdowns with my other big boys. But the little face behind him is Thimble. Thimble is old and has HLD. Since adopting Thimble Frankie has decided keeping other rats away from him so he can lounge in peace is his number one concern. What you are seeing here is a very serious warning to back off and leave the old man alone. Good boy Frankie.

Anyone else's rats go absolutely FERAL for chew sticks for dogs?
Mine don't get them often at all, mainly because the place i get their bedding and food from doesn't sell these, so to avoid extra trips I just don't get them unless its for a special occasion (like a birthday)
However now my grandma has a whole box at her house that she's said the rats can have, because her dogs won't eat this flavour 🤷🏻 So I guess i got a stash of them now. This is gonna last like a year or something which is really exciting

Curious what kind of fur type this girl has? She seems harley but molts really weird, her body molts kinda patchy while her face tends to molt more often and symmetrically. It reminds me of werewolf (you can see her with my black werewolf girl in the last slide) but less dramatic, but would harley/rex (what I've been assuming she is) also produce this sort of molting?
Also what would her color be (I was thinking black but diluted by the harley fur?)
