Hi everyone, I recently moved to Rochester and I’m in the market for some friends! I’m 19f who loves almost any type of craft, nature, movie, or anything whimsical! I have 2 cats and live with my boyfriend of 3 years. I’m really hoping to find a gal pal who will hang out with me and talk about life. I’ve tried meet up.com bumble BFF and all the other ones, so I’m hoping Reddit works! Feel free to dm me or reply to this!

Anybody missing a cat in the Maplewood area? This cat showed up yesterday, is super friendly with people and animals, I had my niece and dog out in the backyard when she came up, and has tried coming inside multiple times. Basically all the outdoor cats in the area are collared so im not sure if shes somebodies outdoor cat or someone's pet that got out.
She came back today, gave her some food and water and left the side porch door ajar incase she gets cold.

I don’t get out much but I really should try to. Figured I’d ask around and see if there’s any crochet or even craft groups for young adults in the area.
Queer friendly only please 😅

I've heard about a few bar crawls that are happening on Saturday, I'm trying to decide what's going to best fit my and my friends' vibe, so tell me which one(s) you're going to and why!

federal lawsuit accusing Mary Catherine “Kitty” Van Bortel and her automobile dealerships of defrauding government COVID-era loan programs has been dismissed.
The lawsuit filed in July by PPP Eligibility Experts LLC accused Van Bortel, the owner of one of the Rochester area’s largest automotive dealership groups, of fraudulently obtaining $7.4 million in COVID pandemic-era loans from the federal government.
Earlier this month, U.S. District Court Judge Meredith A. Vacca dismissed the case without prejudice.
“Relator seeks voluntary dismissal of this qui tam action without prejudice … The United States has filed a notice of consent to the dismissal, based on its determination that dismissal is in the public interest and that the matter does not warrant the continued expenditure of government resources,” Vacca wrote in a text order.
“The United States hereby notifies the Court that the Attorney General consents to the dismissal of this action without prejudice to the rights of the United States, based on its determination that such a dismissal is commensurate with the public interest and that the matter does not warrant the continued expenditure of government resources to pursue or monitor the action based on currently available information,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office wrote.
“The Court agrees that dismissal without prejudice is appropriate,” Vacca wrote.
According to the complaint, PPP Eligibility Experts, based in Irvine, California, was formed to identify applicants who allegedly fraudulently obtained PPP funds and file qui tam lawsuits under the False Claims Act.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office declined to intervene and take over the case from PPP Eligibility Experts.
PPP Eligibility Experts originally sought a judgment of three times the actual damages to the United States, plus the maximum civil penalty for each violation. PPP Eligibility Experts hoped to receive 25% to 30% of any proceeds from the action or any settlement.
PPP Eligibility Experts pursued the case in the name of the United States, but the U.S. Attorney requested that, if the case is dismissed, settled, or otherwise discontinued, the court will seek their written consent before ruling, or granting approval.
Federal lawmakers created the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help stabilize the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CARES Act created the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to cover payroll costs for small businesses. Millions of applicants received hundreds of billions of dollars in PPP loans.

I know they originally said they had a buyer lined up and would be closed for a few months while undergoing renovations, but that it didn't end up selling as originally outlined and the listing was up for a while. I can't find the listing anymore, so curious if it's sold and potentially on the way to returning? Absolutely loved this place, and would be sad to see it die after the initially hopefully messaging around the sale.

Supposedly, some woman and her kid slashed the bounce house(s) near The Mall at Greece Ridge and some kids got stuck in it when it all collapsed.

Just recently moved to Rochester from the Finger Lakes area and am looking for recommendations for the following:
-Lash extensions- will want a classic set at first then potentially a volume set later on, I stopped getting my lashes done ~2 months ago and all lash extension lashes have fallen off, I am currently trying to grow out my natural lashes and then will start getting them done hopefully within the next month or so.
-Nails- I am looking for a basic gel manicure on my natural nails. The last few times I’ve done gel manicures without the builder gel or artificial tips the gel will peel off after a week or two, so looking for somewhere reliable I can go every 3-4 weeks.
-Tattoos- Currently too broke for a tattoo but I am looking to get some bigger pieces on my hip/ leg and one of my shoulders/ upper arms, want to find someone that I can bounce ideas off of and make a potential plan for the near-ish future.
If anyone has any recommendations let me know 🥰 I live close to the city so okay with downtown places or places outside of the city!

Hello! I am starting a women's poker group to play monthly. No idea if there are enough women who love Texas Hold'em on Rochester, but I was a part of an active group in Arizona. LGBTQ+ and gender non-binary very welcome! i created a meetup group. Just DM me.

I know Rochester has an excellent selection of small and large, and used and new bookstores, but are there any that only sell a specific genre of books, like mystery, romance, fantasy, etc?

How many people use them and are getting missed ? Over the last two months I've been missed around 3 times. Finally got through today and after waiting twenty minutes ( Friday I hung up after 15) and was offered a poor service credit of $13. I just don't understand how they went from a great company to this. The lady on the phone seemed like she's been dealing with calls for way too long. I don't know why I even care because she didn't give me any incentive to continue being a customer.

Hey guys,
I've got a ton of clothes I'd like augmenting. I've got a wool vest with an adjustable wool string (it's a Filson) that I want fitted as well as pants I'd like to get hemmed, a suede leather set of pants that needs to be resized all around and a couple larger fitting shirts I'd like taken down too. I'm wondering what's your experience and any you highly reccomend. I'm only asking because I went to one tailor (it was a bespoke suit one) and they essentially butchered a cashmere blend jacket I wanted to have fitted.
Thanks!
