Painting My first Legion mini. Mon Calamari Gunner

I really dislike 40K 11th edition which fortunately led me to rediscovering my love for Star Wars. This guy was super fun to paint and kitbash, he also painted up pretty quick compared to my Warhammer minis. Gotta paint up his mon calamari brothers soon

Painting Just bought a new mat and I was never more excited to paint more fitting bases!

Just sharing my excitement, nothing more!

This is so silly 😅 but for unknown reason just made me very excited again about painting more imperial units and mandos.
I have only few minis with fitting bases while the rest of my army was mostly dessert/grass. Now I have 6 more units and whole lot of terrain to paint with a fitting color scheme.

I would have never thought that a single mat can spark so much fun

Looking for Group Getting into the game

I have seen some videos on YouTube and I really like the game. It feels like it has the right level of complexity without being too tedious.

Does anyone know if it’s common for places to share or rent miniatures? Some place where people can go to play to try the game out?

I live in Austin and was checking the emerald tavern calendar but I haven’t seen a SWLegion related event.

Tactics Discussion What do you think of the combination of Iden and Thrawn?

Couldn't it compensate for Iden's weak support capabilities?

Of course, the points might be quite expensive, but neither of them requires a major upgrade, so it seems fine. The only concern is that it's a bit vulnerable to force users.

Tactics Discussion How many of each Rebel Corp unit is a good standard to have?

Looking to fill my Rebel army with some corp units and I am trying to decide if buying 4 of each Corp type is over kill. Or is there a unit that you all would recommend having more than 4.

With Special Forces, Support, and Heavy I try to buy the max I can take. (Not sure this is a good idea or not).

I am sure there is personal preference that goes into this answer, but in a general sense, what do you all think?

Mostly play Recon (time constraints), do any of the packs increase the number of recon missions? Are they Print & play? Do the full size missions work? Looking for variety.

Tactics Discussion Recon tournament list ideas - rebels luke

My son and I are going to a tournament soon and having an absolute blast practicing. He's pretty much decided on Tarkin/Vader/atst and filler. It's been nasty. He thinks it's hilarious and an absolute blast. Hes getting to 7 acts as well.

We are both going into this to just have fun and not worrying about W/L. Especially as we got some great players locally.

I'm more torn...

Right now it depends on the flavor of Luke I want to run.

I ran commander Luke, Han + Chewie, 5 man trooper X2, sleeper cell, jyn commandos, and the truck. My gawd was it fun. Luke proved to be really tanky, but had a hard time dealing damage. Han and Chewie also tanky but dealt damage. The commandos and the truck did most of the heavy lifting. I let my sleeper cell out to dry and they died both games.

Now... I ran a game with JK Luke with push, reflexes, strong in the force, speed. Leia. Troopers with +1 man and the 2r/2w gun, as well as the commandos and truck. 6 act. But Luke was an objective controlling monster.

I'm really torn on which way I want to go. Han and Chewies command cards and synergy with Luke are a really fun. The three models become very hard to kill. 5 man trooper squads punch harder than expected and the commandos just delete things. The truck is shockingly effective for 85 points. Also blocking LOS is an awesome play. .... But

Lukes command cards feel like absolute trash. Son of Skywalker is fun. I also run ally and I am a Jedi. Im feeling with the Leia/Luke taking both of Luke's 1 pups are a good move and with JK Luke I see how his I am a Jedi could potentially be very important. But it feels like if the Luke tech doesn't work the list just fails.

Or..... Or....

Because I absolutely love the snow speeder (I know it's ridiculously over costed)

Taun Luke, Tuan han, 2x 5 man vets, mk2 blaster trooper, tauns, wedge.

What sounds like the most fun? While not going to get steamrolled.

Product Availability Blizzard Force Vader

• Upvotes

Hey all,

Does anyone here in the UK, by any stretch of fate, have a spare limited edition Darth Vader sprue from the recent Blizzard Force box - perhaps they bought two and only need one Vader?

I’m a little irritated that by buying an Empire core set and a Veers and Vader box, I now have two identical Vaders, when the Blizzard Force box contains a great-looking menacing sculpt that apparently won’t be released by itself!

It would have been perfect for the Empire core set to contain the cold, calculating ‘Commander pose’ Vader, and for the Vader and Veers box to contain the aggressive, powerful ‘Operative pose’ Vader, but alas.
