les idées de business ;
la crĂ©ation et le dĂ©veloppement d’entreprise ;
le financement ;
la recherche d’associĂ©s ou de partenaires ;
le marketing et la vente ;
les prestataires et fournisseurs ;
les opportunités ;
la tech et le digital ;

🇬🇧French and English are both welcome.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SenegalEntrepreneurs/

Hi anyone interested in chatting with me in French?

11 Upvotes

I am Asian in Canada learning French and I am just looking for native French speakers who would be interested in teaching me French! I live in Canada so I could tell you about my life here or if anyone would be interested in learning English while you teach me French?

I am just looking for SFW platonic chats to learn French naturally even though I am preparing for exams. I am mostly interested in chatting on discord but Reddit would work too! (28M)

Merci!

Ask r/Senegal Mariage Franco-sénégalais

2 Upvotes

Tourist & Traveller Questions Public Transportation or Car

1 Upvotes

HI!!!
I'm visiting Senegal and the Gambia from October 31st to November 16th.
Throughout this time I plan on visting Dakar, Saint Louis, Touba, Sin Saloum Delta, and everything on the way, with an open mind and no strict plan.
But my main concern is transportation.
Is it possible to visit all with only Buses/Sept-Places??
Or is it best to rent a car, especially for Saint Louis and Touba, and than get back to Dakar to start the journey to Gambia by public transportation??
And if so, where would it be best for me to rent from?
Thanks!!

Question Lactation Consultation Services in Senegal — Looking for Input

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m Senegalese, currently based in Canada, but making the move back to the motherland soon. I am exploring the idea of opening a private lactation consultation practice in Senegal to support mothers with breastfeeding and postpartum education.
I’d also love to collaborate with existing NGOs on maternal health initiatives.

I’m curious whether there’s a demand for these services, what breastfeeding support currently looks like in Senegal, and whether anyone knows of professionals or organizations already working in this space.

Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from mothers and healthcare professionals. Thank you!

Question Ouvrir une société individuelle

2 Upvotes

His start to the season with Aston Villa has been superb because manager Unai Emery has immense faith in him. Therefore, he must be promoted to the leading figure of Patrick Vieira's team so that Senegal can win the next AFCON.

Question Looking for a good-ish tablet within 100-120kcfa

2 Upvotes

I've spent the past few months looking for a nice tablet for gaming within that price bracket yet i still cannot find it. All I see is scammers and over-priced stuff. Please help me. My wants are:

  1. At least 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM. I do want 8GB tho đŸ„Ž.
  2. Preferably Snapdragon with an Adreno chip so i have a broader scope of emulation. I can settle for a Helio G99, though. I know they won't be powerful either way.
  3. 9-ish inches of size.
  4. At least 5500mAh battery.
  5. I don't care about duel speakers, good cameras, gorrila glass protection, or anything the doesn't significantly correlate to gaming.

I plan to everything from SNES up to PS1 and some android gaming.

I was planning to get the Samsung a9 with 128GB+8GB from Nova but come to find out they didn't have it in storage???

I'm located in Dakar btw

Thank you

EDIT forgot to say an okay screen. i don't mind a 720p one

Nightlife Dakar

3 Upvotes

Hey 29M Australian English speaker (very small French to get around).
Keen to go out to a bar, dance a bit and meet some people tonight in Dakar.
I’ve heard Almadies like cosmo, but when I was there yesterday evening like 8pm it seemed really really quiet.
Is it not the right spot to go out? Or was it just a Thursday or too early?
Appreciate any help, been here for 2 weeks and it’s been a beautiful county ❀

Buying an apartment in senegal (VEFA)

6 Upvotes

Salaam everyone. I'm interested in purchasing an apartment in senegal.. it would be VEFA so you pay as they build over a few years. My question is, is it normal for contracts to be so one-sided. I asked to see a draft and there's no mentioning of Garantie FinanciĂšre d'AchĂšvement and it says my apartment could be 5% less than I agreed to but no mentioning of a refund for any meter square lost.. there's other small things but now I'm wondering what should actually be in the contract to protect myself.

I understand a little of how things work but the american in me would never sign it if this was a US project lol.. any guidance is appreciated.

Question Prolongement du TER

3 Upvotes

Sports AFCON Qualifier Match Tickets

5 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’ll be traveling to Dakar soon and just realized the AFCON qualifier match days 3 and 4 will take place during my trip. Does anyone know how I can get a ticket for the Senegal vs. Sudan game? What’s the best website or is it better to purchase a ticket in person at the stadium? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Translation Song Translation

2 Upvotes

There Will Be Time - A song by Baaba Maal and Mumford and Sons has two verses in Pulaar.

The translations I have found online for these verses don't make any sense with how the lyrics are sung/written out, and none of what I have found show how the translation lines up with the original verse/lines of the lyrics, which is something I would really like to see to understand the phrasing pattern better.

Could someone help me out with this? I would sincerely appreciate it.

Here are the lyrics:

Verse 1

Heto mi halanma
Mine waddimi yiddema
Ko ane tane holimi
Holimi ko ndjidirmi o Dunne Dunne
Hum hum waddimi yidde

Verse 2

Humm ko ane holimi
Koliyo ngopei ndjoukirade
Hasidagal modiani
Waddimi yiddema
Waddimi yiddema
Mine waddimi yiddema
Ko ane tane rokimi
Ko nanei nanei nanei nanei nanei mi waddno
Ko jonni jonni jonni jonni jonni mi watti
Ko jonni jonni jonni jonni jonni mi watti

Thanks in advance.

Merci d'avance.

Question Looking for Vegetable Importers and Wholesale Buyers in Senegal ?

6 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I'm based in Morocco and looking to establish long-term B2B partnerships with importers, wholesalers, distributors, and food trading companies in Senegal.

I'm exploring opportunities to supply Moroccan agricultural products, particularly:

- Fresh potatoes

- Fresh onions

- Other seasonal vegetables, depending on availability

I'm interested in connecting with businesses that import vegetables in bulk or supply wholesale markets, supermarkets, restaurants, and food distributors.

If you're an importer or know a reliable vegetable wholesaler in Senegal, I'd appreciate your advice or the opportunity to connect.

Please feel free to comment or send me a private message to discuss product availability, quantities, pricing, and shipping arrangements.

Thank you!

Verbal French Tutor Wanted (Dakar)

8 Upvotes

Hello!

I (34m American) will be staying in Dakar for two weeks in early November. I’m overlanding to South Africa via public transport and will stop in Dakar to secure a couple of visas.

I spent a month in France studying French (got to ~A2 level), and am now looking for someone who isn’t French to spend 5-7 hours per week just speaking with. It’s my understanding that the accents in West Africa are quite different than what I was exposed to in France, so this would just be casual conversations about the topics I will need as I make my way further south to tune my comprehension.

I’ll plan to pay someone for their time and would be open to other arrangements - shared expertise that I might have, paying for dinner/drinks or activities while we chat, etc. Would love to hear some ideas about what a fair rate would be for this kind of help as well.

DM if interested or if you know someone who might be. Thanks!

Edit: I think I've found someone. Thank you for your interest everyone!
