Took my Daughter to Her First Smashing Pumpkins Show
It's hard to put into words what seeing this band was like. I took my daughter to the OKC show on Saturday, and she was blown away. She only knew three songs going in, but her favorite of the night ended up being "Edin."
I hardly took any pictures, and I didn't take any videos. I just sat there and soaked everything in. It was an incredible experience. I couldn't get over how good they sounded and how great Billy's extended guitar solo at the end of "Porcelain" was. This music still feels as fresh and new to me today as the day I first discovered it 30 years ago.
I cannot remember the last time I went to a concert that lasted three hours, yet it didn't feel that long at all.
As soon as we got in the van for the ride home, my daughter put together a playlist of the songs we had just bore witness to. She now wants to learn more about this wonderful band.
