Why is this still allowed

And when they get to the window they complain that the cup isn’t filled, but apperantly every other Starbucks fills it to the top (I don’t believe you for half a second). She asked for a splash of oat milk but was mistakenly punched as oat base. Orders like these just waste time, and while I don’t care about the company of Starbucks losing money, why don’t they care that people are just basically cheating the system out of like 3 bucks?

Positivity Barista Star Butterfly ☕️ [art by me]

As a former Starbucks barista, I thought you guys would enjoy this fanart I did a few days ago. It’s Star Butterfly, from my favorite cartoon, Star vs the Forces of Evil, as a Starbucks barista. I like to imagine she constantly gets dress coded by her manager, and likes the Unicorn Frappuccino because it’s pretty. :)

Hiring/Interviewing final written warnings question

i worked at corporate starbucks back in 2021 for a year and received a final written warning due to coworker drama (long story, i was 17 and immature), i had never received any verbal or written warning before this either. eventually, i quit because i was moving away and worked at a retail starbucks for a couple of years where i was promoted to barista trainer and then eventually to a shift supervisor. i just moved back to the area and applied to the corporate starbucks in the neighboring town, and my potential future manager reached out for an interview for a barista position. she mentioned in the texts about my previous employment at the other store (that i worked at in 2021), and now im nervous if she can see the final written warning i received and/or if that will affect my chances of getting hired. does anyone have any advice?

when are we going "back to starbucks" ?

• Upvotes

Any other partners wondering when we're actually "going back to starbucks"? 9 year partner, it doesn't feel like anything's changing? or will change ever? I think we've crossed a terrible threshold as a company and the idea of old starbucks or going back to it is just some more cliche word vomit from corporate to appease stockholders and say look how good we're doing.

😠 Rant 😠 stress is getting too much

i used to love this job, now i dread it every single day. the stress is just too much for me now. i used to be one of the fastest baristas on bar at my store, now it just never feels like i'm never doing good enough.

the most important thing at my store used to be supporting each other, but that was 3 years ago. now there's a whole new CL, and entire staff change. only one person remains from when i started.

drive times are the most important thing now. 40 second drive thru times are the minimum at my store now. we barely pull 55.

my shift leaders are just so pressuring. i was having a panic attack the other day and my shift leader said i couldn't step off the floor and since then i'm just incredibly anxious.

i used to pride myself in being able to make a change in someone's day by writing a little note on their cup by choice when i had the time, or when the hardest drink used to be a caramel ribbon crunch.

work is consuming my life. even on my days off all i can think about is the next shift. it's getting unbearable but i can't quit because i don't know what else i would do. every single shift i leave disappointed in myself because i didn't do good enough. screw burrito boy for ruining this company.

if anyone has advice, please share.

Syrup Pumps

Hi friends!

SSV here, just trying to find some clarification on what to do with our regular syrup pumps? I’ve gotten three contradicting responses from some veteran partners, my SM and my DM in regards to this.

Are the syrup pumps to be thrown away when the bottle is finished or cleaned and re-used? Or are they good for a certain period of time and then are to be thrown away?

Any info would be great as I couldn’t find any info in SCEMM. Thanks for your help in advance!

I Quit! venti rant, sry!

I was a former 321 partner that quit after a year, and then I got a job at a sbux kiosk in a grocery store earlier this year. I finally am done with the starbucks scene. I'm tired of the random launches every month, the mysterious ingredients in the powders, the unreliable coworkers who always left their shifts an hour early, never restock ice or cups or lids (and I'm not being picky, there was usually 4 scoops of ice max and entire slots of lids empty), and call out 30 mins before their shifts, leaving me alone all day. my last straw was working 3-7:30 (we close at 7 and luckily never stray over that time) because my coworker forgot he worked at 4, I wasn't even mad at him, he's young and his dad drives him to work and wasn't used to be scheduled on Tuesdays. it was the fact that my manager didn't even try to reach out to anyone to come in and help me, I had to remake so many things and do pull and closing tasks alone, and had to stay overtime because most of the tasks required after close because I had to leave the kiosk alone. I turned off mobile orders without asking because I didn't care anymore. I understand if it's normal to have one person working at a kiosk alone but it is so physically and mentally draining that I was at an absolute last straw, especially because I was usually scheduled for it compared to my other coworkers. anyways I have been applying for small coffee shops and hope and pray I am in luck to be hired soon :)

Question About Seasonal Stock Orders

I am a customer in Australia. My local Starbucks ran out of the Pumpkin Spice sauce a week ago. And they said they couldn’t get any more. PSL season over.

Today I was in a different suburb and the Starbucks there still had plenty - they said for at least another week or so.

Question: who decides how much seasonal sauce the various stores get? Is it the store manager or is it allocated by HQ from above?

How would you feel about allergen filters in the app? (Student concept)

We're design students researching how people with food allergies navigate ordering at places like Starbucks. This is not a real Starbucks feature—it's a concept we're testing.

Imagine that when you're placing a mobile order and the app lets you select an allergen (dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, etc.). It then changes what you see and provides allergen-specific information for each menu item.

If you have a food allergy, we'd love to know:

- What, if anything, would this help you with?

- What information would you still need before you felt comfortable ordering?

- What about this would you not trust?

- Is choosing the right menu item actually the difficult part—or does the bigger problem happen somewhere else in the ordering/preparation process?

We're especially interested in hearing about your actual experiences ordering, rather than whether you simply like the concept.

If you could provide us any feedback on this idea, we’d greatly appreciate it!

Hiring/Interviewing Getting a job at Starbucks

Hey guys it’s been well over a year since I’ve had a job and I really needed one soo…

I applied to Starbucks and got the interview!
And now I have to go to a second interview 😔.
Well I got told it’s the same questions and it’s way shorter than the first interview, and mostly that the DM wants to know who I am before I do get the job(or something like that). I’m also kinda good socially(kinda I feel like I’ll do fine with customer service, it’s just that I don’t want to be awkward with my coworkers). Also I’ve heard a lot of drama and issues with working at Starbucks. But I feel confident that I’ll tank whatever happens to me.( and trying to become more social).

All I want is just tips from you guys and also what do I say to my coworkers? Wait do you guys even interact with each other while working?(do you even become like friends at all or just kinda acknowledge each other????)
Anyways any tips or advice helps, thanks!

adjusting to opening

I’m a new SSV and I’ve been opening 2-3 days a week but also closing 2 days a week. I’m struggling a lot with opening and either can’t fall asleep the night before or can’t stay awake during the day. I also feel so tired and anxious/can’t think straight after opening. Is there any advance that anyone has to adjust better? Especially with the opens and closes during the week? I’m in school and it’s starting to mess with me a lot too.

😠 Rant 😠 Pretty Privilege

Came in for a meeting, left with a verbal coaching. Had a meeting today with all shifts, the coffee house coach, coffee house leader, and my DM. I thought it was fine and dandy. Meeting went well. When I was about to clock off, my Coffee House Coach pulled me aside and said that she needed to talk to me. I agreed, and we sat down. She then asked, hey do you know what we might be talking about?! had no clue, and I said idk. Well she went on a tyrant rant about how I should be an example and lead by example. I'm still confused, and then my CHC said, "Why are you actively bullying and harassing Barista A?" I was shocked and perplexed because I haven't worked with Barista A, since they started training. I have the receipts on that Barista A was for the majority of the part NOT on my floor.
CHC still goes and and says, that Barista A, knows that I'm jealous of her "good looks" that's why I'm actively making her a target. Legit looked at the camera off to the side like are we seriously talking about being pretty and how I'm bullying her for her good looks? Like am I in an Y/N story!?!
CHC said that I have to put pettiness aside and make up with Barista A because we can't help that she's pretty and and I'm like !?! Wtf this isn't happening. I said that it's unfair that I'm being treated like this and that she was favorably choosing to believe Barista A because of the gravity of the
"situation"

Making the schedule

Hi! I’m a shift manager at my store. I am trying to be a store manager so my pillar is scheduling. It is so hard! I have missed at least one thing every schedule (set ups, trainings) and I feel like my boss is mad at me. It’s like every week there is something. I have anxiety bc my manager comes back to work after her vacation and I was in charge. Anyone have any tips/tricks on doing the schedule?

😠 Rant 😠 SSV

Okay so I just interviewed at a different store than my own for their SSV position. The manager loved me and everything but because of the unfair no transfer policy I can’t get the spot even after the regional manager had an amazing reviews of me. He said that my area needed SSVs but as long as my current manager is here I will continue to refuse the spot cause her management style is draining on mine, and all of the other partners, mental health. As a barista I’m constantly scheduled to do the pull. And I mean every time I’m working. And besides if it’s cause of my area I know the store down the street is begging for SSVs, but I can’t work there cause the manager is family.

I have to stay with Starbucks for ASU but I can’t stand my manager for much longer. I just want to be able to promote at a different location.

Hiring/Interviewing Post interview

My interviewer told me I should expect an answer of whether i got the job or not yesterday but I didnt get any response from them.Is it time to call/email them or am I bring too impatient? What should I tell them idkkk Also from reading other posts I thought there should be a second interview, but the hiring manager never even mentioned that.
