I'm looking and I think I'm getting pretty severely priced out. The average seems to be 1700? Anybody have more information on this?

Hi everyone!
I’m a local crossing guard supervisor, and we’re currently looking for someone dependable to fill a part-time crossing guard position at Ponderosa Elementary School in Sunnyvale.
Schedule (Monday–Friday):
Morning: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM
Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Wednesdays: 1:05 PM – 2:05 PM instead of the regular afternoon shift
Pay: $24.10 per hour, plus an additional hour of bonus pay when working both the morning and afternoon shifts on the same day.
This could be a great opportunity for a retiree, stay-at-home parent, college student, or anyone looking to earn extra income without committing to a full workday.
No prior crossing guard experience is necessary. Training is provided.
If you’re interested or know someone who might be, feel free to send me a message, and I’ll be happy to share more information!
Thanks for helping us keep our students safe!

I’ve been feeling a bit nostalgic. Does anyone have any pictures of the Sunnyvale Mall they’d like to share? Feel free to black out/censor anyone in the picture you don’t want us to see. I’m looking for pics of inside the mall. Just wanna feel like I’ve travelled back in time and stepped into that mall in the 90s or early 2000s
What are some of your fondest memories of that mall?
I’ll share mine. I remember my late father bringing me to the theater. I didn’t know what a movie theater even was. He didn’t even tell me he was taking me to one. Anyways I went in and i just thought, “Wow! This is the biggest ‘TV’ I’ve ever seen!” Haha. We went to watch Casper.
I also remember Walden Books and ripping pokemon card packs in there. I got that Gengar fossil. If only I knew those cards would be worth thousands some day.

I'm trying to schedule a new-patient appointment with a retina specialist at Munnerlyn Eye Center (Sutter Health) in Sunnyvale.
The referral department doesn't answer the phone, and its callback system hasn't worked either. I requested a callback over 8 hours ago but haven't heard back.
Has anyone successfully scheduled a first appointment there? Is there a direct scheduling number, online option, or another way to reach the retina specialists without getting stuck in the referral department?
I'd appreciate any advice from patients who have dealt with their scheduling system.
PS: Their chat option also does not work, giving error due to cookies.

Last night I joined the Crow Ride organized by Bike Sunnyvale. FYI the best place to see the crows is at 6:30-7 pm at 11th St and D St in Moffett Park.

I would love to see a voter guide for democrats or liberal independents that covers city, county, and state offices and initiatives. I don’t want to be fooled by the traditional double negative type wording and also don’t want to f*ck myself or my kids over by voting against my best interests. I know the guide sent out has who is supporting and against, but I would like to see that in context and understand why they do.
I recommend that people don’t wait until the last minute to fill out their ballots and start reading now.

I know y'all ask about restaurants in Sunnyvale from time to time. Well I recently went to Garlic High which specializes in Jiro-Style Ramen and I enjoyed it. It's different than the typical tonkotsu ramen most ramen shops serve in the US.
Be warned - Jiro-style ramen is quite heavy; a topping is "umami fat". Perfect for the cooler temperatures we are experiencing recently. Also, a small is regular sized/filling - start there.
My last trip was on a Friday night and there wasn't a wait but there was a steady stream of people. The area does not have much foot traffic so I hope y'all go check them out and support this local spot. They're the first spot to specialize in Jiro-style ramen in the US from my knowledge; their sister restaurant is Ramen Champ in San Jose (Santa Teresa) that also does Jiro-style ramen + others.
I put together a full write-up with more photos, recommendations, and an interview with the chef on my site if anyone wants to dig deeper: Food Squared - Garlic High Review (no paywall!)
