Questions/Advice Does anyone skateboard at 6'4+?

I'm 6'5 wear size 15 shoes, skate shoes are hard to find, especially since my feet are only as wide as a 14s regular width. Vans skate versions stop at 14 and they just aren't long enough. After a year my new balance tr808 lites are falling apart. Any other shoes I should look for? Or should I just stock up on these same shoes? I can't fit in 14s too short, like snug fitting 15s for skating however for running any 15s are usually fine.

Questions/Advice T-shirts

As you all have certainty experienced, I hate how short t-shirts generally fall on me. A men's XLT works well, it's just finding them. Stinks that more graphic or band tees aren't an option. I know I could just do a 2XL but it isn't the same result as the T and sometimes the bigger size is less than a cm longer.

Have you found any stores or places that offer XLT t-shirts? Carhartt has been a good option but I'd like to have a few shirts that aren't Carhartt.

Selfie/Picture Tall Tour DC

For those who don’t know, there’s a guy on Instagram who organizes Tall Tour events for the vertically inclined! They made a stop in DC yesterday, so naturally I dragged my siblings along.

From left to right: me (6’1”), the event organizer (6’9”), my sister (6’3”), and my brother (6’6”)!

It was really cool getting to be around so many other tall people for once! The tallest woman there was 6’10” and the tallest man was 7’4”, so we weren’t even close to being the tallest in the room.

Discussion Tall people Medical Issues/Conditions?

Hey, my fellow giants! So I have a silly question: I have started watching Grey's Anatomy again for probably the 4th time. I am on season 2 and heard Yang and Burke speak about Marfan's syndrome on a guy who is 6 foot 4. Apparently, tallness is common in people who have Marfan's syndrome.

This got me thinking: what medical issues are you guys sitting with or have experienced in your lives?

I, personally, have complications with my heart (atrial fibrillation). I have had 4 knee operations and struggle daily with my back. I might still have mellow dramatic issues compared to other people.

What issues do you guys know about with regards to tall people, or what things are we prone to getting? I'd like to hear about possible issues to look out for in the future!
TIA!

PS: I am 2.1m and weigh 134kg. (6'8" and 295 Pounds in Freedom Units)

Questions/Advice I don’t feel like my height?

When i forcibly stand fully straight and measure against my door (which is 6’6 as i’m in the UK) i am exactly at the 5’10 mark, but then u consider the fact that i literally never stand straight and i have horrible posture lol, so i measured myself at how i usually would stand like especially when waiting in line in public, and i measured at 5’8? but like when i go in public and look at other people im usually taller than them even groups of men which bothers me like why is everyone so short?! i am not THAT TALL! even while slouching people are still so much shorter, so i feel like this awakened something in me about height, i used to think other celebs who were my height were short, but they’re actually not? like 5’8-5’10 really isn’t short at all, the average person is a lot shorter so it’s like on the lowest end of tall but still tall lol.

I also don’t like being tall since i yearn to be the little spoon, but i rarely see other people taller than me in public which is the thing, most guys are always like 1-2 inches shorter than me, i’ve seen like one 7ft tall guy stand behind me in the lunch line once in my life, maybe i’ll see a guy who’s like 6’3+ once every few months?… not often whatsoever. BUT, even tho i’m not romantically into women, whenever i see a tall girl who is my height i’m always JAW droppingly shocked at how gorgeous they are?! like i instantly think WOW MODEL!! i becomes more in awe seeing tall women than i am seeing tall men just due to how beautiful they are lol, so if any tall women are insecure here PLEASE don’t be! your height makes you 100x more ethereal and gorgeous & if someone who’s only attracted to men is so IN AWE of your presence that should tell you how perfect you are! 🥹🩵

But anywho, im wondering if you also live in the UK, am i unfortunately objectively tall? or is the country just obscenely short lmao. Do i need to take a trip to the Netherlands to experience a new phenomenon?!

Miscellaneous What are my European talks driving?

On a trip through Paris, Normandy, and Breuges and back a few years back with my family, I realized that our instinct to rent the largest car possible (a Mercedes wagon) was a terrible idea. Things were fine on the motorway, but navigating driving and parking in the small towns we went to visit was nearly impossible. Part of this was probably due to inexperience, but the more common compact citroens, peugeots, etc seemed to be the standard sized vehicles. More recently in Italy, cars like the Fiat 500 seemed common. Don’t get me wrong, I like all of these cars, but can’t imagine driving them at my height. 195.6 cm… Curious how you all handle this. Mostly out of curiosity. Thx!

Rant Are personals allowed here?

Because my (43F, 5'10) biggest problem - by FAR - is trying to find a man that is *actually* taller than me! :-( Found a few that *say* they're 6ft or 6'1, but once I meet them, we're the same height...

I don't mean to be racist to you people but why does every tall person I know have either back or shoulder problems?

I understand where the back problems come from but why the shoulder?

Questions/Advice Do people with short and broad body types have large heads?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Based on my observations, people who are broad-shouldered—not overweight, but with a wide bone structure—tend to have larger faces relative to their height. Interestingly, their faces aren't just wide, they’re also quite long. Is there a scientific reason for this?

Questions/Advice Can’t eat enough

Im 6’4 175 20M and go to the gym consistently.

I increase weight capacity slowly but I remain lean. My physique is “improving” but I’m not filling out my frame.

I generally have a low appetite and at best eat as much as my 5’7 friends

I find it hard to get at least 180g of protein a day and nearly impossible without protein shakes

Questions/Advice Where to buy size 16 shoes in Canada?

Apologies if this has been posted before.

I would like to buy my partner shoes as a lil gift, but finding shoes this size seems impossible sometimes. He typically wears toe steel boots from work.
If you have any recommendations for daily shoes that’d be fantasticcc

Edit: I have looked online, but hearing personal opinions is always best (for me)
I am not a tall person at all, and a wheelchair user. I do not know what feels good on the feets :p

Humour People say the weirdest things to talk people

When I was in my twenties I had a job stocking groceries. I sometimes worked during the day and customers noticed me because I was tall and thin with long hair.

One day this lady approaches me and without preamble proceeds to tell me that her children refer to me as ”The Long Arm Man.” she’s smiling and laughing and up in my space like this is a totally normal thing to say to a person. She goes on to tell me that she started telling them that if they don’t behave themselves in the store the long arm man will get them.

Now, I have a sense of humor about myself and I thought (and still think) it was funny. After all, we don’t all get to be the boogie man. But she couldn’t have known that right? What was her thought process when walking up to me?

People are weird, bro.

Discussion Is it really more difficult for tall women when it comes to dating?

I hear it often about how tall women have it harder when it comes to dating. The only way I can see it being more difficult is if the expectation is for the man to be taller. Depending on her height, if she is looking for someone taller then statistics make it harder. Since apparently roughly 5% of men worldwide and 15–16% of American men are 6 feet (183 cm) or taller. The taller the man they are looking for, the smaller percentage of men there would be to fit the criteria. Otherwise I imagine the typical non-height related factors would still apply (personality, compatibility, attractiveness, etc).

As a 6'2 guy the women I have dated were between 5ft to 5'7. I don't care about her height though. It's just that statistically tall women are a small percentage of the population as well so it just happened that I ended up dating short to average height women. I wouldn't be bothered if she's taller than me though, with or without heels. I asked some of my shorter friends and most of them said the same thing.
