BORED IN TALLY: WEEKLY EVENTS, 10/22/26 – 10/28/26 - it's a huge wknd so I'm posting early

Events are listed by the day. Events that happen every week appear first, one-time stuff after that. If you have anything you’d like people to know about, comment here or message me and I’ll add it in. If you’d like further info about any of the events, look it up! I usually don’t have any extra to add.

Events may be cancelled unexpectedly. If in doubt, contact the venue.

Large Scale, Ongoing, and Multi-Day Events:

  • FAMU Homecoming! Tons of different events. The Homecoming Concert is at the Al Lawson Multipurpose Center on 10/22. The Band Festival and the NPHC Step Show are both on 10/23. The Parade is 8am on 10/24 and if you love marching bands you need to get your ass down there, it’s amazing. Full details and schedule: https://homecomingatfamu.com/

  • Tallahassee Greek Food Festival at the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church. Food is at the heart of Greek hospitality, and it’s certainly at the heart of our festival! Come hungry and ready to enjoy an incredible selection of authentic Greek dishes prepared with care and inspired by recipes and traditions passed down through generations. From savory favorites to irresistible Greek pastries and desserts, every bite offers another delicious taste of Greece. The Tallahassee Greek Food Festival is a feast for all the senses. As the smells of Greek cooking fills the air, the sounds of traditional music create a lively atmosphere and bring the unmistakable spirit of Greece to Tallahassee. Listen to the music, take in the festivities, and enjoy the warmth and energy that have made this event a Tallahassee tradition for generations. Pair your favorite foods with Greek wine, spend time with friends and neighbors, and experience the sense of connection and celebration that makes Greek culture so special. At the center of it all is philoxenia, the Greek tradition of welcoming guests with warmth, generosity, and friendship. It’s a spirit we’re proud to share with everyone who walks through our doors. October 23 and 24, 10am to 9pm. BE WARNED! Parking is terrible and they run out of the foods as the days go along so get there early and ready to munch out. • Talloween 21 Alley Cat Bike Race! 21 years of one of the most exciting alley cat bike races in the southeast. An alley cat is a bike race where riders decide their routes! Before the race starts each rider is given a manifest (list of checkpoint locations), which is their guide to completing the race. Each rider visits all the checkpoints in any order to qualify for placing. Many people ride Talloween casually if they don't want to compete for prizes. Once you have visited all the stops (or as many as you want!), bike to the finish line. Join us at The Bark for the awards ceremony and after party! Note: If you are riding to compete in the race, visiting all stops on the manifest before the allotted time runs out is required! Riding in costume and getting a flash tattoo during the race grant race time deductions! Friday October 23rd, 2026. Day-of registration starts at 6:00pm. Race begins at 7:00pm. Starting Line: Railroad Square. To pre register: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSchM827BEHLAgTkjuHW-4IKVL8ag-Y3y7vvymU-q6lMfUfl6A/viewform

For those that didn’t grow up here, why do you live in Tallahassee?

Just curious to see everyone’s reasoning. All of my family is in south Georgia or in this area, so I haven’t thought about leaving all too much.

Looking for good homes for pups

Hi y'all

I have two super sweet puppers that I sadly need to rehome due to moving in with family and a lack of space. They're medium size sweeties who love cuddles and are great with my two year old. They're both fixed and had all there puppy shots. I'm heartbroken to part with them but there just isn't enough space for them here. If anyone is interested in learning more about them please shoot me a DM. Happy to give details about them and pictures. I just want them to have happy homes❤️

Switching from a state job to a private company or not-for-profit

Looking for a new job and I currently work for a state agency. Has anyone made the switch from working for the state to working for a private company or a nonprofit? What are some considerations i should keep in mind? In your experience, how do the benefits compare, including retirement, health insurance, and vacation and sick time? I know this will vary greatly, but I'd like to hear your experience.

Looking for someone in Tallahassee who can weld/repair an exhaust leak

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for recommendations for someone in Tallahassee who can repair an exhaust leak, preferably someone who does welding or exhaust work.

I’ve already stopped by Jones Muffler, but unfortunately they’re booked out for months.

I’m open to independent mechanics, smaller shops, or someone local who has experience welding exhaust systems. Just looking for someone who does reliable work at a reasonable price without having to wait months.

If anyone has recommendations or knows someone who could help, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Looking for mycologists/mycology groups

Is there anywhere in Tallahassee, or on campus at Florida state, to learn more about mycology? I am very interested in mold. I am currently an art major at fsu and I’m exploring mold as a creative medium, but I would like to improve my knowledge and safety. I’ve looked into if there are mycology clubs but haven’t really found anything.

Mobile Mechanic

Looking for a mobile mechanic (or a generous person) who would be willing to change a starter on an ‘02 camry sometime this week. I’m really short on cash so i’m looking for the cheapest option.

Almost Everytime waste pro picks up bulk trash at my town house they damage my mailbox. Who do I make a complaint to ? Waste pro or city of Tallahassee ? Will they reimburse me/ fix my mailbox? This is the third time it has happened.

Svdden Death in the garden

Anyone know if people without tickets are allowed into Potbelly's Garden events? I'm planning to see an artist (svdden death) I like this week, but may be less inclined if it's not gonna be a standard rave crowd. I guess I'm mostly worried that Talloween people are gonna ruin the vibes. Thanks!
