Question and/or suggestion for text in Tengwar.

Hi,

My beautifull senior yellow labrador Olivia (15 years old), will be sadly put to sleep soon due to age and health issues. I'm having a memorial pendant made with her ashes and hair in a closed container so i can keep her close to my heart.

On the front i was thinking to make the pendant shape into a shield form (rounded edges), with the tree of Gondor with the seven stars where the middle top star is a small white gemstone.

On the back I'd like to engrave, in Tengwar:

- "Estel" (Sindarin)

- "Olivia", her name

- Possibly the date: [DD.MM.YYYY]

My questions:

  1. Which mode would you recommend? I'm leaning towards the Mode of Beleriand for both words, because full vowel letters should hold up better in a small engraving than tehtar. And how would you transcribe "Olivia", since it isn't an Elvish name?

  2. For the date: I understand Tengwar numerals put the least significant digit first and are duodecimal unless marked. Would you write a date in decimal with the marks above, and could someone show me how this date would look?

  3. Could someone share the result as an image or SVG I can pass on to the jeweller? The engraving will be roughly 15 to 20 mm wide.

Thanks a lot!

P.S.: I'm also open to suggestions for the word above her name "Estel" as do i realise that the tree of Gondor allready represents Hope. I have Mellon as second contender as this is a wideknown word for friend.

PS.2: Picture of my dog and AI generated design of how the pendant might look like.

Wedding rings

• Upvotes

Hi! I’m designing a pair of wedding rings and would love some help verifying a Tengwar transcription.

The exact Croatian phrase is: “uvijek i zauvijek” (“always and forever”).

I want to keep the original Croatian wording and write it in Tengwar, using a suitable Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian mode rather than translating it into Quenya or Sindarin.

Could someone knowledgeable please provide or verify the correct transcription? Since this will be engraved on gold wedding rings, accuracy is very important to me.

If possible, I’d also appreciate a clear image or vector version suitable for a jeweller.

Thank you so much!

Hello,

Just want to double check that the image attached says what I want it to say - “You are my son” - before I tattoo some nonsense on to my arm!

Thank you in advance for the help!
