Welcome to r/ToastCats!
This is a subreddit for kitten and cat photos showing how their coat colors or patterns changed over time! The inspiration for this subreddit was colorpoint cats (like Siamese) which start white and “toast” gradually into their adult colors. All cats are welcome if their colors changed over time! Make sure to post at least two good photos at different ages if you are posting images of a cat. Discussion of cat colors and genetics is also allowed, especially regarding colorpoint cats.
NOT allowed is anything that breaks Reddit community rules, especially anything that relates to harming any animal or person. This is a place for everyone to feel welcome and safe; tag any wounds or potentially sensitive material with NSFW and a clear title. Posts may be removed if they violate community rules or are too inappropriate.
Thanks, and have fun!

Marshmallow Toasting I think she toasted to purfection
This is Marshmallow! I named her before I knew cats toasted too! 😅 She looked like a burnt marshmallow from day one. I adopted her from an abusive/neglectful home back in March when she had just turned 2. I didn’t know older cats could toast up! I know she didn’t make a huge change but it’s safe to say she’s been very happy in her furever home and her coat is showing it! 🥹💞

Not Quite Toasty My toast-in-progress, Noodle! Swipe for a baby pic🍞
Noodle is a 6 month old “lilac Siamese”! We got him from animal control, so we aren’t really sure what he is. But he sure is cute!🍜

Talking about Toasting Evolution of Tater through 12 years
Hi! Just felt like showcasing his toastiness over time! He was born in 2014, and I got him in 2021! All photos are in chronological order :) The photo of him next to the scratching post is when I first got him!
P.S. I know he is overweight, and I am working with my family and vet to best care for him. Please do not give me advice on his weight loss, I am also navigating his health problems throughout his weight loss journey.

Toasted up Nicely 1yr of Matcha toasting
First was when I found him! I almost ran him over and picked him up and took him home. Vet said clean bill of health, so he got to meet his brothers after they adjusted to each other under the bathroom door! He's a little over a year now and he's getting nice and toasty!

Just found this and had to share my toast
He started pretty light but I knew his face was going to be super dark, and now he has full on black boots.
I got him at around 5 months and he's 2 1/2 now
