Poll UNC Pair Dog Costume Belichick and GF

I have 2 dogs 3F ~ 26 years old in human years & 13M ~ about 68 years old in human years. I wanna dress the male dog as Belchick and the female dog as the girlfried. What are people's ideas on what items should make up these outfits? Both will wear clothes. The male dog will not tolerate anything on his head.

Question When are the halloween parties?

Hi! Visiting UNC from a nearby school cause most of my friends go here. Is it better to visit on Friday or Saturday? When will most of the activities and stuff be happening? It’s cheaper for me to visit on Friday which is why I wanted to go then, but my friend told me that Saturday is halloween so she’s unsure if there’s going to be much happening.

Question parties on Halloween?

best places for me and my girlfriend (both females) to go to parties for Halloween? we dont really go out much so I don't have much knowledge, I know most (if not all) frats are unsafe, but are there any places that would be moderately safe for us to go to? we want to drink/ have fun and dont really have any friends that are having house parties so this is really our only option.

Question Is it worth taking Chem 101H?

Hello, I’m a freshman in the honors program and I have the opportunity to take Chem 101H in the spring with Professor Huong Kratochvil. Her rate-my-professor reviews are few and all over the place, so I wasn’t sure if it was worth it. My other option would be general Chem 101 with Danielle Zurcher.

Anyone have any insight? Thank you in advance.

FYI 2026 U.S. Midterm Voting Guide for College Students!

Hey r/UNC!

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026! Here's what college students need to know to make a plan to vote.

Quick reminders:

  • Away at school? Make sure you know which address you're registered at.
  • Voting absentee? Check your deadline and return your ballot as soon as possible!

1. Make Sure You're Registered

Moved dorms or apartments? Double-check your registration address. Some states still allow registration or updates during early voting or on Election Day!

Turning 18 by November 3? You may be eligible to vote if you're a U.S. citizen and meet your state's other requirements.

2. Home Address or School Address?

  • Living away from home? You may be eligible to vote using either your home or college address, depending on state residency rules. You can only vote once!
  • Registered at school: Find your local polling place and check early-voting options.
  • Registered back home: You may be able to vote absentee without traveling home. If your requested ballot hasn't arrived, contact your home election office today!
  • Studying abroad? FVAP.gov has voting instructions and information about emergency backup ballots for eligible overseas voters.

3. Pick How You'll Vote

Early, in person: Early voting is already open in many states but ends before Election Day in some places. Check your dates and locations!

NASS – Early & Absentee Voting by State

By mail: USA.gov – Absentee & Mail Voting

  • Follow the instructions and sign where required.
  • Return your ballot early! USPS recommends mailing at least one week before your ballot must be received. Running short on time? Check whether official drop boxes or in-person return options are available.
  • Many states let you track your ballot online.

On Election Day: Tuesday, November 3! Polling hours vary by state, so check before you go.

4. Know Before You Go

5. Good to Know at the Polls

  • In line when polls close? Stay in line! If you're already in line, you can still vote.
  • Name not on the list? Ask a poll worker about a provisional ballot or other options in your state.
  • Need assistance? Voters with disabilities have the right to accessible voting and can request help.

6. Questions?

Contact your state or local election office, or the nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline:

  • English: 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683)
  • Español: 888-VE-Y-VOTA (888-839-8682)
  • Asian languages: 888-API-VOTE (888-274-8683)
  • Arabic: 844-YALLA-US (844-925-5287)

Your vote is your voice! Make a plan, share this guide with a friend, and see you at the polls!

Question MEJO Student Looking to Interview Someone About Their Experience with CAPS

Hello! I'm a journalism student at UNC working on a story for one of my classes about the ways that mental health impacts college students, and whether or not CAPS is effective for helping struggling students. If you have had interactions with CAPS and want to share the story of those sessions with me, I'd really appreciate you reaching out to me however you feel most comfortable!

If you're not interested in a formal interview but still want to share, feel free! I'd really appreciate any help I can get to paint a picture of how UNC students see CAPS.

Question Class recommendations

Im nearing the end of the classes I need. Some of the remaining ones arent offered in the spring (I graduate in 2028) and so far I only have 8 credit hours. Im taking two neuroscience classes, my lfit, and a 1 credit class. Ive done a lot of psyc and soci classes for my majors but I need recommendations for some classes that arent going to kill me or are interesting that others enjoyed so I can at least meet the minimum credit requirement. Thank you :)

Question Is it bad to take orgo and physics at uncg during the summer?

I’m wondering how bad it will look on my med school application. So far I got a B- in chem 101 and looking like another B in 102. I just think if I take these classes here I’ll do really bad and also it’s just gonna make my workload easier during the school year. And during the summer I can focus completely on my class. I would just take it at state but uncg is closer to my house

Question Not getting premed classes spring 27

I know it’s a problem that’s everywhere on campus, and everyone who’s a first year or not in a professional program is stressing about it. I’m a freshman premed who absolutely needs specific classes for the spring that I couldn’t get off the waitlist for in fall (biol 103, chem 102), so upperclassmen, any suggestions for what I should do to maximize my chances of getting these classes? Can also be for any class at UNC that’s hard to get into.

Question Transfer?

I took my first college semester of from UNC Chapel Hill after experiencing homesickness and extreme anxiety after my first two weeks. I’m thinking to transfer to my local university and commute instead. My local university also has a more straightforward program for the career I want, while at UNC I will just gave to wait until grad school. Commuting to my local university is less stressful on me, but my ego is killing me over leaving the UNC brand and missing out on the "classic college experience” I always dreamed of. Im sad leaving the “prestige”, brand, the life I wanted, and the fun college experience everyone talks about. I don’t know what to do? Should I stay at UNC or transfer?

Question Bio class reserved seats

Hey everyone! I'm a psych major pre-med and was wanting to take BIOL220 (genetics) next semester. I know the seats are reserved for bio majors right now, do they open up during wave 2 or open enrollment? Either way I'll just deal or waitlist but it doesn't say when those spots unreserve (like the psych classes do lol) so I'm just trying to see when I should go for that.
