Discussion New search layout? Seems like it's more.. rectangular?
I didn't even get an update as well, just randomly changed and made the other options harder to access (ahem like the show more options button in the context menu)

Discussion Anyone else also getting decreased audio from video recordings using Snipping Tool?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The snipping tool video recorder is a really good tool for making quick and dirty video recordings and gifs, but I’ve noticed that the volume of system audio captured is very low compared to the source. My guess is that it has something to do with the type of compression the app uses but I’m not entirely sure.
I made a feedback post for it but I just want to be sure I’m not the only one experiencing this. I included a video (best viewed unmuted) for reference.

Discussion Just came back from linux after a year. Any tips?
I have already used tools like win11debloat and winutil (just did small tweaks, disabling telemetry and bringing back the old right click menu etc). But I'd like to hear other recommendations, such as some specific settings are extensions/apps.

New Feature - Insider Is it just me or does the Ui look a bit different in some settings menus, like in the windows security center.
I thought i had some issues with the Ui and scaling but someone said that some menus look different now and its supposed to look like this. Microsoft is rolling out changes in the Ui/ color schemes? something about acrylic/mica. Im not on a insider build but my Windows security center looks different on this machine.. The black background is gone, it is now grey and i could have swore some text and Ui elements are smaller now. especially in the virus and threat protection/ allowed threats. did anyone else get this either in the insider build or the standard build?

Suggestion for Microsoft Windows 11: Can we please get a “Create desktop shortcut” button? 😅
aka.msI can pin apps to Start, pin them to the taskbar, open settings, and uninstall them. But creating a simple desktop shortcut? Apparently, that's advanced technology!
Dragging apps from Start to the desktop doesn't work for me. The workaround involves opening shell:AppsFolder and manually creating the shortcut.
Why not just add “Create desktop shortcut” to the Start menu's right-click menu?
I submitted a public suggestion to Microsoft. If you agree, please vote for it in Feedback Hub
One button. That's all we're asking for. 😂

Suggestion for Microsoft It would be great if MS could speed up Edge's toolbar autohide.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I actually really like Edge despite being a Firefox fanboy from it's conception.
I found that over the years the growing number of issues I was having with Firefox led me to give Edge a chance, and after a few months of tweaking I ended up really liking it.
The slow speed of Edge's toolbar autohide in fullscreen mode is practically the only negative for me now.
Firefox, for example, shows and hides it instantly, and it doesn't cover any of the content when it does. It moves the window down so that it doesn't obscure anything.
But Edge is painfully slow to unhide it, and also won't hide it again unless you stop moving the mouse for a second or two, or click the window or address bar. It also obscures the top of whatever site you're on. It really slows you down when you constantly have to stop and wait for it.
Using an OLED it's not good to have a static toolbar that's always there when browsing, and can cause burn in.
A big plus is that in fullscreen the little white line at the bottom of window that they introduced about a year ago goes away. (Think it's only visible in normal view if you've disabled the rounded borders)
Not optimistic that this post will lead to any action, but maybe the their competitive side might be sparked by showing the difference in the tool bar show/hide speed between the two browsers.

Concept / Design [Cursors] I have refined the free sets of cursors (Outlier v2)
I have refined the cursors from the feedback I got last time.
What changed:
- Thinner Lines and a bit less transparent fill.
- Multiple reworked pointers.
- Better visibility for light and dark mode specially the crosshair and the normal pointer.
- Scaling of the cursors in bigger versions don't stretch and properly scaled.
- Added bonus colored variants of the cursors.
Windows installation script is in the folder.

Concept / Design Any way to get the BT-icon to look like the other icons on the taskbar?
I really want it there but it annoys me that it stands out. I'd like it to look like the other icons in style and look.

Discussion I turned Windows 11 into Windows 10
Spent a GOOD ton amount of time customizing the abomination of Windows 11, changing icons, etc. It could take a person with no context good amount of time to figure it's Windows 11 maybe.
My favorite is changing the date at the bottom right from 2026 to 2016 for fun! I just don't like how it says 2026 in the calendar but oh well!
Executables used:
ExplorerPatcher
WinaeroTweaker
More details:
On taskbar:
Chrome - This is actually Firefox with the CSS configuration, I used Geckium to configure some stuff.
Minecraft - That is Prism Launcher just disguised as Minecraft launcher
Microsoft Store - Just old microsoft store
On the browser:
I used YouTube Redux extension and Stylus to customize YouTube.
I started liking sharp corners and simple solid colours which Windows 10 matched, but because I had Windows 11 I really didn't like the round corners, matter of fact I hated the circular things, it just feels weird..
The only reason I wanted to do this is because I like the style of Windows 10, and how solid it is, Windows 7 looks nice too but wasn't a fan of the aero style and for Windows 98 I did like the pixel style but just didn't like the bare minimal style so Windows 10 is sort of the winner here.
And in my process of customizing, I decided 'Why not just slap on a 2016 date to match it more.'
And then I went on Firefox and decided that I should turn everything into a 2014-2016 style.
None of this is nostalgic to me, I just wanted to do this as a fun thing, I will keep it, but will focus more on changing things into classic icons or something. Then eventually I could probably fool a lot of people.
