Pets 🐈 Anyone flying from Abu Dhabi to Paris? Need a flight buddy for a cat

Post image
17 Upvotes

Our sweet rescue cat Ollie has found a lovely family in Paris. He is a special needs cat and it was impossible to find a home for him here. we struggled for months.

Now he has a perfect family waiting for him. We are looking to send him by an airline that permits pets in cabin because he has a compromised trachea. currently only Etihad Airways allows this.

If you know anyone who is willing to help us, please reach out to me. i will take care of all the expenses and paperwork. i just need someone willing to carry the pet on board and hand them over the family waiting for him at the airport when they land .

We cannot send him by Emirates as they only permit pets in cargo and that is risky as he will be in areas where temperature and pressure fluctuates.

please help ollie reach his forever home. share with whomever you can and help us find someone to take him . he has suffered a lot and this is his chance to live happily ever after.

Living 🏡 How can i leave home when father is abusing? Will police help me?

Im 21F Expat sponsored by my father's visa. He's threatening/abusing and forcing me for marriage & not letting me study or even do a job. He's scared that if i do a job then I'll change my sponsor and he'll lose his controls.

So basically now i want to leave my home and go somewhere rent a partition and also cancel this visa so that in the grace period i can get a job.

He'll not letme do all this so can i complain to police or get their help? Can i take protection from police when I'll leave the home? Will they help in cancelling this visa?

Please give me advice.

Careers 💼 Looking for a part-time evening job in Abu Dhabi – I have my own car

Hi everyone!

I’m currently working full-time in Abu Dhabi, finishing at around 5:30 PM, and I’m looking for a part-time job to earn some extra income after work.

A little about me:

📍 Based in Abu Dhabi city

🚗 I own a car, registered in my name

🕕 Available after 5:30 PM on weekdays and potentially on weekends

💼 Currently employed full-time

✅ Open to delivery, courier work, company/personal driver jobs, document collection, or other suitable evening opportunities

I’m looking for something flexible that I can do using my own vehicle.

My questions:

Which companies in Abu Dhabi hire part-time evening drivers using their own cars?

What is the realistic monthly earning potential after fuel and other car expenses?

Are there any apps or companies you would recommend?

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone currently doing this or who has experience with these jobs

Thankyouu

Commerce 🛍️ Where to buy structured, real wool coats for women? (No polyester)

I’m looking for a well-made women’s coat with structured/padded shoulders, clean notched lapels, and a double-breasted cut.

I’m having trouble finding good fabrics brand, most stores carry 100% polyester. I need real wool, a high-wool blend, or heavy natural fibers like cotton that hold their shape.

Recommendations for brands or local tailors are appreciated along with price range!

Commerce 🛍️ Looking for an old laptop for my brother ,Any help would mean a lot 🙏🏻

Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to this community hoping someone might be able to help us.
My brother recently came to the UAE on a visit visa to look for a job. He needs a laptop to apply for jobs online, prepare his CV, attend online interviews, and search for opportunities.
As his brother, I feel it’s my responsibility to support him and provide what he needs to get started here. Unfortunately, I’m currently going through some financial difficulties and managing all the expenses, so buying a laptop for him right now is beyond my budget.
If anyone has an old or unused laptop that they no longer need and would be willing to give away, or sell at a very affordable price, I would be extremely grateful.
It doesn’t need to be a new or powerful laptop. Even an older, basic laptop that works well enough for job applications and online interviews would be a huge help.
I understand that everyone has their own challenges, and I’m not expecting anything. I’m just reaching out with hope that someone might be able to help us during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Any support, advice, or leads would mean a lot to us. 🙏❤️

Commerce 🛍️ Insurance

Hi everyone,

I’ve spent 10 years helping businesses figure out their insurance. I’m posting here because I know how stressful it can be when you’re the person responsible for it.

Maybe you’re a business owner who never expected to become an insurance expert. Maybe you’re an office manager who was handed the renewal and told “just figure it out.” Maybe you’re worried you’re overpaying, or you’re not sure you’re covered for what really matters.

I’ve seen how much it weighs on people, and how much relief comes from having someone patient in your corner, explaining things in plain English, with no pressure and no jargon.

I’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have a renewal coming up and aren’t sure what to look for
  • You’re starting or growing a business and need to know what coverage you actually need
  • You’ve had a claim denied or a policy that didn’t deliver
  • You just want a second opinion on what you have now

You don’t need to be ready to buy anything. Send me a message or comment below, and I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction, even if that means telling you that you’re already well covered.

Thanks for reading, and I’m looking forward to meeting some of you.

Events 🎟️ Anyone interested for a Halloween house party in Abu Dhabi

Hey everyone! I’m thinking of organizing a house party in Abu Dhabi for people aged 18 and above, since it feels like there aren’t that many options for our age group here.
I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in joining! Ideally, we could find someone who has a suitable place to host it, but if not, we could all chip in and rent a place together.
The idea is just to get a group of people together, play music, hang out, dance, and have a fun night with people around our age.
Nothing is set in stone yet, so I’m just testing the waters to see if there’s enough interest before figuring out the details.
Would anyone be down? And if you happen to have a suitable place we could use, or know somewhere we could rent without it costing a fortune, definitely let me know!

Vehicle 🔋 e-scooter got impounded

So basically my scooter got impounded yesterday in Abu Dhabi because I was not wearing a helmet. And they said you can come and collect the scooter after two months in Baniyas police station. Can anyone tell me here if it's exactly two months or do they actually release the scooter before the two months? Also, like how much is the fine for driving or riding a scooter without a helmet?

Hello to Abu Dhabi community… i recently experienced loss.. in 2 years i lost both of my parents. And when i flew back to UAE, it hit me.. that I’m all alone now.. no family. Single. No kids… i have siblings from both mom and dad’s side but i didn’t grow up with them…I’m an only daughter from them.

Basically… i want to do things that can help me with my grief.. is there a calm place you would recommend me to visit (cafe/hidden gem/beach/mountain?/retreat?) that i could be alone with my thoughts.. process my grief…

Commerce 🛍️ Looking for a good cleaning company in Abu Dhabi

Hi,

I am looking for a cleaning company that treats its staff well, gives them fair pay, etc. I am happy to pay extra for this. I would hire someone I can pay directly, but in my experience most cleaners are looking for consistent income, and I don't want to have pay someone while away. I also like having two cleaners as it's faster.

I've really struggled to find employers that treat their staff well. Most of these cleaners are getting paid between 1200 (with accomodation) to 2000 a month (without) working six days a week. Most nannies in the community I live get paid at least 3k a month, and have accomodation.

I know I can tip to help compensate this, but I'd like to give my business to a company that pays decent wages.

I am also wondering if these are just the margins in the cleaning business. Or, are there people getting rich off of this work?

Sports 🏅 Badminton in Abu Dhabi

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if there's anyone who plays or takes badminton training early morning in Abu Dhabi on regular basis. I'd like to join and make it part of my routine. Preferably looking for female.

I'd appreciate if you could connect me to anyone doing similar in your circle.
