Raise your hand if you occasionally go to listen to a book, then end up doomscrolling Audible books and bargains.
I do that a bit too often.

I know it’s a totally minor bitch, but am I the only one who hates the fact that you can’t zoom in on the cover image? I just want to look closer without having to search for it on other sources.

I posted my audiobook, The Aftersummer, on this subreddit a few weeks ago and received a really nice review! Here it is: “A slow burn with a satisfying pay off. Listening to this on long walks in October, would definitely recommend!” Thank you, dehavey! Halloween is coming, and I'm down to my last codes. I'm re-posting below. If you love the spooky season as much as I do, check out The Aftersummer!

5 minute previews are useless. I've decided against more books than... wait I have yet to buy a book simply based on a short snippet of it. Well, I've done so at a bookshop but never via Audible.
A chapter is a tiny fraction of the book. I don't see what is the downside. Unless of course these 5 minute previews are used as entrapment than a... well... again... you can't really call it a sample, can you? It's more like an image of a sample. A thumbnail of a movie.
So yeah. Five minute samples are moronic. At least a chapter has a chance to engage you and raise interest. Five minute previews are just annoying. It's like a 50 p tip on a 500 dollar table.

Is anyone else having this issue with their podcasts? None of mine are updating or showing the latest episodes. I’ve tried refreshing my library, pulling down to update, etc., but nothing seems to work.
The episodes are available on other apps, so I know they’ve been released. Pretty frustrating, ngl.
Has anyone had the same issue or know how to fix it?

Found these gifts in my email today.
Where should I start?

Admittedly, I didn’t look very hard, but it sure would be nice, if when I was looking at my collection, I could see something more than finished…. The last date I read the book would be awesome. Is it hidden there somewhere?

I've noticed this problem a couple of times now. Not knowing if it's a glitch, or if it's done purposeful.
example
In the book series The tome of Bill; if you click on the series, it will give you all the books 1-12 plus an option to purchase a package of 1-4 and 5-8. 9-12 is not there.
You have to search separate to find it, but there is an option to buy 9-12 also.
This isn't the first time I've noticed this.

Has anyone noticed that there are a lot of titles that used to be included with Audible standard that are no longer included? I have things in my library that were included but now I can't listen to them unless I buy them. Am I missing something? Did they restructure their subscriptions? Thanks in advance fam.

Has anyone listened to the new version of Dracula on Audible with Jonathan Bailey? I just finished listening to the version with Tim Curry tonight. How different are they in comparison? In other news, but still on the topic of books, I decided I will start to listen to the second audiobook for Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber. How does everyone like that book and how is it in comparison to the show?

Now that Amazon has changed Kindle Unlimited to Kindle+ I find it impossible to check out a kindle+ (formerly kindle unlimited) book and see if there is a discounted price that I can buy the audible version of the book for. It just says the book is in my library. I want to buy the book. How do I find a way to do that?

Thank you for making it easy to buy more credits. I don't know what manner of person was influencing your design decisions over the past few years, the user experience team seems to have had a mission statement akin to "Fuck'm, it's a store front so always show them more shit to buy." which is unpleasant because books are like drugs, they sell themselves and you're just facilitating their path to the customer.
On top of that the path to the extra credits was way too long! Thank God we're long past the days of leaving the mobile app.
Today I wanted more credits and I got more credits in like 3 buttons. I didn't even have to hunt for the 5 credit deal!
The only thing I could ask for is more information on how giftable credits and credit packages are.

Okay, so I might have taken my frustration with the TOG tandem read a little too far. 🤣
I absolutely LOVE immersive reading, but constantly switching between Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn, checking the tandem chapter guide, and trying to remember where I left off was driving me insane.
So naturally, I built an entire app instead. 💀
It’s called Tandem Reads, and it automatically switches between the two audiobooks following the tandem reading order. You upload your books, hit play, and it handles the switching for you!
I officially launched it this weekend after putting a ridiculous amount of work into it, and I’m looking for fellow Sarah J. Maas readers to give it a try!
A few things to know:
Currently works with compatible audiobook files exported from Google Play Books.
Audible isn’t supported yet (working on that one 👀).
You provide your own audiobooks.
30-day free trial, no card required. Then $10/month if you decide to continue.
You can check it out here: https://tandemreads.app
This started as something I desperately wanted for my own reread, so I’m hoping it makes someone else’s experience easier too. 🖤
Has anyone else tried doing the tandem with audiobooks? Because PLEASE tell me I wasn’t the only one struggling with all the switching. 🤣
