It was a debut for the both of them for the club, Emery came on as a sub in the 75th min and Olabe played as a goalie and went the full 90. They lost the game 1-2. This appears to be the only match they've played together

30 Years later they are at the villa together.

Didn't manage to get tickets, not fancying the home end but going to be in Barcelona for the game.

Any news on where the villa fans will be to watch the game? Or is it a case of any Irish pub and I'll be grand?

Another week, another absurd attempt to understand football through a slightly different lens...

What an idiot That Carragher is isnt he, absolute clueless like his mate Neville

Afternoon all. Right the important question, where are villa fans meeting and drinking in the lovely city of Barcelona?

A place to discuss everything, Villa or non-Villa.

Have a fleeting thought that's not quite enough for it's own post...?This is the place

Look at the comments. I think the Manchester United fans deserve their owners.

So I predict that after the humiliation of Manchester United by Bournemouth at Old Trafford today, all social media forums will be full of MU fans clamouring for Unai Emery to come and steer them to the glory days of past.

Why would Emery leave Villa Park for at best a mid table team anyway? I know that money plays an important factor in personal decisions regarding leaving, but surely he is most likely on a lucrative contract already making this a null and void argument.

But why am I still troubled by their enticement relentlessly now played out on social media and by sports show hosts...?

With all the options on the wings we have, should we be thinking of sending Hemmings on loan to the championship to get consistent game time he won't here?

I feel Bogarde hasn't kicked on because he hasn't got a consistent run in a team. I wouldn't want the same to happen to Hemmings.

Please may the Manchester United board see fit to give Micky Mouse Carrick two more games after today to save his job 🙏🙏🙏

Lads do we think mbaye deserves a start in the league now??

In a time where it's easy to get swept up in the excitement of our newer recruits. Just wanted to take a moment to appreciate this man.

Absolutely. Solid.

With the Mbaye / Jackson connection (and Cisse to follow) I imagine Villa are becoming more popular in Senegal at the minute.

I understand that the Premier League is popular in Senegal anyway - has anyone come across any insights into Villa’s following there?
