Simcoe Muskoka’s inspection records classify infractions as critical or minor. Those are the health unit’s classifications, not ratings I’m assigning.
I’ve also kept Corrected During Inspection separate from Not in Compliance. Corrected During Inspection means the issue was addressed while the inspector was there. Not in Compliance means it was still recorded as non-compliant when the inspection was completed.
Inspection results reflect what inspectors observed during that particular visit. They’re a snapshot in time, and records can change as new inspections and follow-ups happen, so check the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit inspection portal for the latest information.

I'm having family coming over before Christmas to spend time before the hustle and bustle of the break.
We're looking for a restaurant that can fit 10 people (6 adults, 1 child, two toddlers, and a baby) in a semi private room. The reason being, is it's much easier to manage the 3 rambunctious children in an enclosed space without distributing others.
We've so far found out Milestones can seat this, but honestly not a fan of their food (often way too salty) and would prefer more local, if possible.
Spoke to the Farmhouse, but they have a minimum spend that is too steep for 6 adults and a few children.
Does anyone have suggestions?

I have a ring that needs to be corrected, for better idea, rn it's more of a masculine design, I need it converted in feminine design.
I have all the materials needed for it to be made, no idea where to go/whom to find since I am an immigrant.
Looking for someone who does it real quick coz her special day is on the way.
Not looking for anything luxurious, just something simple and nice to look at.
Polls close at 8 PM. YOU STILL HAVE TIME!
VOTE!
Only 30% of eligible voters used their democratic right last election. Let's get those numbers up and raise your voice!

Again?
According to the rental aggregate site Zumper’s monthly rental report, the median asking rent for a one-bedroom unit in Barrie reached $1,980 in September — up 13.1 per cent compared to the same time last year. Two-bedroom units also became more expensive, with the median asking price rising to $2,130, an annual increase of 6.5 per cent.
I thought I had read this article recently, but that was last month:
The rental platform Zumper says rent prices in Barrie have rapidly increased over the course of a month, faster than any other city across the country. It rose to the number seven spot of most expensive cities to rent in Canada, up 6.3 per cent. The average price is $1,870 for a one-bedroom rental unit in Barrie.
What is going on with rental prices in Barrie?

Wondering if anyone knows of any sports bars in Barrie that typically play wnba games? I have low hopes for tonight since the game is at the same time as NBA games and an NFL game, but any recommendations would be appreciated! would love to watch what i’m sure will be an amazing game 5 with others
Just to preface, yes I know you can ask any bar to turn a game on. By bars playing the game, i mean bars that will have the game on with volume, not a small tv in the corner with no sound. or bars that have advertised they will be showing the playoffs

LA Fitness on Cundles Rd charges members first and last month membership payments among an initial fee and annual fee. If they collect last months from all members at the time they begin, what do they do with in between starting and the member’s last months? Do they invest it? If they pool every members last months fee, that must be a significant amount of money that then allows them some form of privilege no? Yet, the member doesn’t benefit from this on their last month. Like, when you rent and provide last months rent at the beginning, your landlord is legally obliged to provide you interest on it.
Do you think they use for something?

I am looking for recommendations for personal trainers currently working at either the north end or south end location.
I have multiple personal training sessions I need to use up, but at this point anyone I had in the past no longer works there.
I’d prefer someone with around ten years experience + and experience in a personal fitness show.
The last time I had a 25 year he was good but was not even paying attention to my reps and talking with other staff during sessions.
Excited to get started with a new trainer!
As for my profile I’m female 35 getting fully back into a healthy lifestyle and enjoy strength training.

I leave work everyday at 4:30 and it takes me like 30-50 mins to get home cause Mapleview is absolutely cooked and everyone is cutting each other off to make things faster for themselves! I hate that Barrie has become so annoying to drive in! Never used to be like this.

Hey Barrie friends. Does anyone know if there will be live coverage anywhere for the Barrie election? I assume Rogers will cover it but I don’t have Rogers. Is there anywhere posting there will be coverage? I assume since most of its online voting, the results should be in rather quickly after 8pm closes.

I just voted in Barrie's 2026 municipal election, and I have to say, it really didn't feel like I voted.
Normally, I'm the kind of person who prefers doing things online. I love the convenience of it, but voting is one of those things where I actually prefer doing it in person.
Voting online felt more like filling out a survey than casting an actual ballot. I know my choices were officially recorded and that my vote counts, but the experience just didn't feel the same.
Nothing beats physically going to a polling station, receiving your ballot, marking down your choices, folding it, and putting it into the ballot box or feeding it into the voting machine.
There's something about that whole process that gives me a little dopamine rush. It feels rewarding, satisfying, and fulfilling. You walk away knowing you've just participated in democracy.
With online voting, I clicked a few buttons, submitted my choices, and that was it. No excitement, no sense of occasion. Just another online form.
Don't get me wrong, the online system worked perfectly fine. It was quick, easy, and convenient. I just missed the actual experience of voting.
Personally, I'd love to see Barrie bring back traditional in-person voting.
Am I the only one who feels this way, or does anyone else find physically casting a ballot more rewarding?
And yes, I'm fully prepared for the inevitable 'OK, Boomer' comments. 😂 I'm only 30, I swear! I am still a hip Millennial 🥳

I want to do a mobile tire changeover service this season (on rims) but would I need insurance or anything for that?
I left the automotive trade this year to go to school for something else, but been doing tires for 4 years and wanna make some extra cash + I know how fast shops book up during tire season & how expensive it is for some people so I also just wanna take some stress off people who can’t get an appointment or have tight schedules that I could just come do their tires without them having to leave the house & for a decent price.

I am working on a project and love to sit in cafés or in the library and get my work done. Lately I’ve started working later in the night on this project and unable to find places that are open later in the night. Library works great for me on most of the days except when I want to work even later (say until midnight).
Yes, I know could do the work at my house, but I also work from home and need to get out of my house or I will not do this work.
Any suggestions for places where I can just sit and do my work. I don’t care if it’s loud I usually have my headphones on.
Thanks!
