Bidets stopped me from being Superman

I moved into a new place recently and got a horow bidet toilet. One thing I did not expect was that my hemorrhoid started bothering me a lot less, and I do not see blood nearly as often now.

Before that, sometimes wiping would hurt a lot. I would check the TP after and see some blood on it. Every time that happened, I would hear Batman saying “do u bleed?” in my head. I’m a big BvS fan, so that scene always comes to mind. I guess in this case I’m Superman and my hemorrhoid is Bruce.

Anyway, I’m a pretty hairy guy, so cleaning with toilet paper was always kind of a pain. I had to wipe a lot, and sometimes pretty hard, or I just did not feel fully clean. That obviously was not helping my hemorrhoid either.

Now I use warm water instead and honestly it feels so much better. I do not have to keep wiping again and again, and I am not hurting the hemorrhoid as much. It is still there, of course. I’m not saying the bidet cured it. It just does not get sore or bleed as easily as it used to.

Now I keep telling people how good bidets are. At this point I sound like some guy at a toilet store trying to sell one to everyone I meet.

I still use toilet paper at the end to make sure I’m clean. I wipe from a few different directions until there is nothing on the paper. The main difference now is that the paper is mostly just for checking, instead of doing all the cleaning with it.

Best Bidet for First Timer & Renter?

• Upvotes

Looking to buy my first bidet ever. I’m renting an apartment so I think I’d prefer one that’s not a full seat but just attaches to one. Ideally under $150 but willing to stretch if there are ones that have bells and whistles that are easy to install and remove. Thanks!

Looking for our next bidet for downstairs bathroom. A few questions.

We currently have the Swash 1400 for our upstairs bathroom. I like it well enough. I do wish there was a setting with a bit more pressure, but it's fine. Air dry is pretty weak but there's probably no getting around that for a bidet seat.

The only thing we don't like about it is that our 5 year old granddaughter is disappointed she doesn't get to use it because it has no child mode. She'd love to use it and we have 3 other younger grandkids that we'd like to be able to use our next one if possible.

Things we must have:
Child mode
Warm water
Air dry
Good water pressure
Front and back wash modes

Would like:
Programmable user mode
Sittable lid (but not a must have)

Looking to buy one probably on a black Friday sale. Getting a GFI outlet installed in the downstairs bath next week. We could possibly be open to a smart toilet and not just a seat if there's one that better meets our needs.

The other issue that I'm not sure how to get around is that our guest bathroom is like 12 feet away from our dining room so when we have guests over for a meal and someone is sitting in the guest bath using the bidet, I'm thinking it will be very obvious and loud and that may turn some people off from trying one (because we all know that once we get a bidet, we are bidet evangalists).

We talked about putting in an exhaust fan in the bathroom (none currently exists), but that seems like a lot of electrical work that my husband would rather not get into. We can if we must though. Not sure how else to deal with the noise factor. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

Anyway would love recommendations.

covered bins for bidet cloths?

In the last week my dogs have decided that the one gallon bin I toss bidet cloths in is the best toy ever. I need something with a lid, but I'm afraid it'll cause mold to grow in there? I live alone and only do laundry once a week to week and half and don't have enough space in my bathroom to just leave them hanging to air dry. Any suggestions for specific bins? I can't seem to find a small enough covered laundry bin and covered baskets made of organic material just seem like a bad idea.

Bidet with no seat heating and no dryer

Kids loved the bidets in Hawaii. Want a simple one that has no seat heating or dryer but is able to warm the water Trying to keep the kids’ bidet simple to use, with low electricity consumption.

Can anyone recommend one?

No outlet by the toilet? Don’t let that stop you.

In my new house, I ran a neat temporary extension cord with adhesive cord clips until I install one properly.

Heated seat + heated water = absolutely worth it. 😂

To anyone who only use toilet paper: how do you actually feel clean afterwards, and why hasn't the bidet caught on more?

Need a bidet recommendation for Christmas gift

My husband and I have traveled all over (US based) and he has been begging to get a bidet for years. My budget would be around $800-$1,200 but I suppose you can yank my arm a bit if there’s a better option that’s not much more expensive than that.

I’m not looking for just the seat, I’m looking for the toilet itself. Best point of reference are the ones in Japan.

I’m not sure what features matter and don’t. I don’t want it to fail after two years though.

Master bath Reno Bidet option for tall folks

Doing a master bath renovation soon and looking at full bidet toilet options/toilet with bidet lid for a taller family. I am 6‘6“ tall and am wondering if anyone has a suggestion on either a full bidet toilet or a toilet with bidet top that would allow extra height and comfort? Budget is 1200-2200$ USD. Were members at Costco but nothing stands out there.

Help Connecting Tushy Bidet

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey folks. Trying to hook my bidet up to what looks like an old system. That plastic piece on the left is the three way adaptor connected to the flexi hose that goes to the bidet. For one, it’s too big for the tap connection, and two, the ballcock is connected to a solid metal pipe which is also holding it in place, so I cant attach an adaptor there anyway because there is virtually no wiggle room.

Wondering what my options are? It it possible to replace the tap with a two way outlet tap? Then again the whole cistern might shift and be out of place 🫠 help!

Cheers

Toto s300e slow close question

I just got a really great deal on an open box Toto s300e, so far it's great, couldn't be happier. big step up from my old bb-600.

My one issue is the seat and lid slow close. It's glacier, it barely moves. I tried to time it, but I got bored around the 2 minute mark when it was still half mast and had to walk away. Is this something that breaks in and eventually moves at a normal slow close speed? Can I put a lubricant in it maybe a graphite of some sort? Google wasn't much help and said that it was a closed hydraulic system, but there has to be a way to improve it.

It warms, it cleans, it dries, it completes me. Except it’s in a hotel and I can’t take it with me.

Traveling in Quebec City and i convinced myself to workout and I think karma wanted to reward me and I found “un bidet douchette” in the gym bathroom. So happy. Heated seat, front and back spray AND a dryer. Just had to share.

Do most people even realize there is a monumental difference between Italian and Asian bidets? I have Asian bidets in my house. I can't even use an Italian one when I'm in Europe.

Can I install directly to the wall water line?

Our toilet is pretty tucked against our back wall in the bathroom making the water line where it attaches to the toilet inaccessible.
Can I install the bidet directly to the wall water line? And is what the bidet kit came with enough for the install?
Thank you!

Spoiled Rotten

I've been using my bidet for over a year and some change now. And every time I'm out, and if I have to use a public toilet or something of the sort, I always think "toilet paper, how primitive". Not to mention feeling so gross using my hands. My bidet has both hot and cold water settings, a seat warmer, and a drying mechanism. I swear, at home I'm getting the royal treatment, and in public I think "I can't go back to poverty" lmao.

I got my Rinseworks handheld in the middle of summer, and I'm still happy with it

In other words, a blast of cold water in a sensitive place wasn't bad when it was hot out, but I was worried about when things cooled down. It's cooled down now, and I'm actually fine. Maybe I've just gotten used to it, or maybe I'm just really cold-tolerant, but I don't feel like I personally need hot water. I get that it's comfy, I still take hot showers after all, but I can get away without it.

Bidet noise

Really need guidance. How loud should a bidet sound? The one we just put in is beyond noisy. Looking for guidance and also suggestions on quieter brands. I’ve been reading positive things about the Alpha Pearl. I had not considered this one prior. Costco also has a few others including a Vovo brand. Please help! Thank you.

Any recommendations for handheld bidet sprayer attachment that connects directly to the bathroom sink?

My condo doesn't allow bidets that connect directly to the toilet without permission. I want one that is directly onto the end of my sink faucet, includes a hose long enough to reach my toilet, and has suitable backflow protection, not anything that connects to underneath the sink. My budget is around 50 CAD or 40 USD.
