Advice intensifying a personal reckoning hex on Samhain
I'm seeking advice from experienced practitioners of baneful magic, sympathetic magic and traditional witchcraft.
I recently performed an intensely personal hex directed towards my former partner, with whom I share a child.
Our relationship was once extraordinarily passionate and loving. However, over time, he became emotionally neglectful, critical and inconsistent. He repeatedly rejected me, briefly proposed reconciliation, then withdrew it while continuing to seek affection and companionship from me.
I've recently discovered something that has intensified my anger and changed what I want from this working.
My original intention
I conceived the ritual as a Scrooge-like reckoning.
I wanted him to confront his past, present and future, remember the love we shared, recognise the suffering he'd caused and experience genuine remorse.
I wasn't trying to manufacture love or force reconciliation.
The ritual
I constructed the working intuitively, using a seashell containing materials with deeply personal connections to our relationship.
These included his extracted wisdom tooth, traces of his blood, three drops of my blood, intimate bodily materials, a fragment associated with a gift and a broken amulet from our relationship.
I poured black, red and blue candle wax over the contents, representing truth and reckoning, passion and love, and emotional understanding.
The shell remains incompletely sealed.
I originally intended to complete it on Samhain using white wax and red cord, before eventually burying it.
My intention has now changed.
I no longer want to reconcile with him.
However, I do not want his love for me extinguished.
I want him to love me, recognise exactly what he has lost, and experience the emotional consequences of his decisions.
I want remorse, grief and punishment.
I want him to experience the heartbreak and torment that I experienced, rather than simply walking away without confronting the damage he caused.
I dont even need him to return to me. I want justice.
All of what I have felt, he will feel.
My questions for experienced practitioners:
Would this traditionally be considered a punishment hex, a love-binding working, a remorse working, or some combination?
Can a working symbolically incorporate both enduring love and suffering through separation?
Would changing the intention before sealing the original spell fundamentally change its character?
And would Samhain be a particularly appropriate occasion for completing a working concerned with love, loss, judgement and punishment?
I'm interested in serious discussion of the magical traditions and symbolism involved, including whether these intentions should be approached as separate workings.
I'm not seeking relationship advice or encouragement to reconcile. I want to understand the kind of magic I'm attempting.
