This is my first post and it’s what i can relate to from the song : song of a lover - og long ago
You can still hear how deeply that love remains by his side. “I have buried you in every place I’ve been” is such a beautiful line, and it resonates with me on such a personal level. Especially the way he uses his voice in such a haunting yet beautiful way, allowing you to truly feel his pain.
When the song falls silent, it feels as though Justin is reflecting on everything he has just said. Then, for a second, you hear what sounds like him beginning to pack up his things, but suddenly, birds start chirping in the distance. And just like that, he starts playing his guitar again. Almost as if something has brought back a memory of the person he is singing about, or perhaps the birds symbolize something deeper.
He repeats the words, “I have buried you in every place I’ve been, with my shaking hands, and you keep ending up in every place I’ve been,” with even more passion, while the birds continue to chirp in the background. It feels as though he is singing the song to bring those memories back to life. I think that might be the metaphor behind the birds in the background.
Because when he finishes the song, he sits there for a few seconds, simply listening to the birds. I can picture him looking out the window, smiling at the memories of what once was. And then, finally, he manages to pack away his guitar and move on. Almost as if he needs to reconnect with the love they once shared before he can take that next step forward.
At least, that is what I take away from the song. It is something I can relate to with all my heart.
What do you take from the song?
A song can have alot of different meanings, depending on the listener.
