I’ve been meaning to get into Bukowski, so I made a trip to Barnes & Noble. Which one should I grab?
UPDATE: I went with ‘You Get So Alone.’ By no means am I an avid reader, despite that, I’ve been glued to this book for the past hour. Never have I felt more connected to a piece of literature. This man was a genius.

For sale: It Catches My Heart In Its Hands $3,000 OBO
Here is an extremely rare copy of It Catches My Heart In Its Hands by Charles Bukowski published by Loujon Press. It is signed and dated twice, with an original painting and an aphorism and an additional white page, that is not found in most copies. The (majority) of white sheets with quotes were signed in late March and April of 1963. That's several months before the book came out.
My understanding is that Webb was originally going to have signed and unsigned editions. For the signed edition he sent Bukowski the white sheets for Bukowski to sign and return so they could be inserted in the book.
At some point, Webb changed course and all copies would be signed. They had financial challenges purchasing all the paper for the book and their friend Ed Blaire ended up paying for at least some of it. It's possible that they could not afford or simply could not get more of the white paper stock.
I've heard that there were between 40-60 copies with the white sheet. Some of these copies also contained a painting, signature, and/or quote of the purple page, where copies without the white page were signed. I think these were reserved for special people.
The front cover is slightly coming detached, with careful attention it can be fixed. Apart from that, this is a beautiful edition of an early Bukowski publishing and will be a great addition to any Bukowski collection.

I recently read the Chinaski books from Charles Bukowski, he became my favorite author and Women became one of my favorite book of all time. I know there was a movie made some time ago but from what I heard it’s not great.
Am I the only one who dream of a good movie adaptation ? I think Women could have a good movie adaptation.. What do you guys think ??

"They swallow God without thinking, they swallow country without thinking. Soon they forget how to think, they let others think for them. Their brains are stuffed with cotton. They look ugly, they talk ugly, they walk ugly. Play them the great music of the centuries and they can't hear it. Most people's deaths are a sham. There's nothing left to die."

Rerelease of Bukowski's Edited Poems?
Greetings. I'm not super familiar with everything published by Bukowski.
However, it is my understanding many of his posthumous books were heavily edited (mangled beyond recognition) by John Martin at Black Sparrow.
Have any of these books been published in their original form as Bukowski intended?
If so, what are the titles so I can run out and grab them. It is my understanding Storm for the Living and the Dead is one of these books.
If they have not been re-published in their original form, why not? Seems like the most obvious thing in the world to do, but the world is also goofy and ridiculous.

The Red Notebook Incident
In his book 'Women' Bukowski wrote about an incident involving a Red Notebook in Utah where He and Lydia were on a highway and Bukowski threw away his notebook.
Later Lydia went into the desert and searched for his notebook and she found it.
Can anybody tell me what's the complete story?
Please anybody?
