Travel Siem Reap to Trat

• Upvotes

I am planning a trip to Siem Reap next year with my wife and teenage kids. We then want to go to Thailand and was planning on Koh Chang which is accessed from Trat on the mainland.

Has anyone done the route from Siem Reap to Trat overland recently or is it easier to fly back to Bangkok and go from there? Thanks!

“Where the fence was built and it was found that T h a i villagers had encroached on 863 rai of land, we have to return it to Cambodia, which is correct. Wherever it's not ours, we return it to them. But wherever it is ours, Cambodia must also withdraw.” #ThaiCambodianBorder

Health Is tirzepatide available in cambodia easily?

I’ve been prescribed it in my home country, but have to go to japan before my trip to cambodia and feel like I’ll run out (japan allows for a month) and my total trip is gonna be 6-8 weeks.

Will I be able to buy more in cambodia? Will they take prescription from another country and how much does it usually cost?

My father gave me a pendant, but I’m not entirely sure what this says. I’ve checked on Google Gemini and ChatGPT, but got nothing in return. They said it might be a jeweler’s mark. Sadly I can’t read Khmer, so I’m entirely not sure.

Travel Title: Afghan passport holder planning to move to Cambodia with a friend — Visa, immigration and work advice needed

Hi everyone,
I’m an Afghan citizen, 21 years old, and I’m planning to return to Cambodia with a friend. I visited Cambodia once before on a Type T tourist visa.
During my previous trip, immigration officers questioned me extensively at the airport. They even asked me to call my Cambodian girlfriend so they could speak with her directly. I was eventually allowed to enter Cambodia.
This time, my friend and I want to find jobs and build a life in Cambodia for several years. However, we don’t currently have a job offer or an employer to sponsor us.
Our total budget is around $3,000 per person, including flights, visa fees, accommodation and initial living expenses.
I have several questions for people with experience in Cambodia, especially Afghan passport holders:
Would applying for a Type E ordinary visa be appropriate if we intend to look for work and stay long-term without having a job offer before arrival?
If we apply for a Type E e-visa, could immigration officers ask us to show a business location, company registration or an invitation letter?
Is it possible to enter Cambodia with a one-way ticket, or would a return or onward ticket be necessary in our situation?
Should we book accommodation before travelling? Would a hotel reservation be sufficient if we plan to find a room to rent after arriving?
Since I was questioned extensively during my previous visit, could I face additional questions when returning? Does my previous successful entry help?
My friend has never travelled internationally. Could this make his first entry more difficult?
Can foreigners legally enter Cambodia, search for jobs, and obtain the appropriate visa extension and work permit after finding an employer?
We are serious about working legally and staying long-term. We don’t want to misrepresent our intentions to immigration officers, and we want to understand the requirements before spending our savings.
I’d especially appreciate replies from Afghan citizens who have travelled to Cambodia, foreigners who found jobs after arriving, or anyone familiar with Cambodian immigration procedures.
Thank you for your help!

Food A quick tribute to Anthony Bourdain and his trips to Cambodia (2000 & 2010)

Chef Bourdain was a massive inspiration for me. What always stuck with me was his genuine curiosity, his deep respect for Khmer culture, and the way he honored the people behind every meal.

I put together a few screenshots from his Cambodia episodes in 2000 and 2010, just a small tribute to someone who inspired me to explore the world and connect through food. His legacy lives on.

Travel Is Vietnam to Cambodia land crossing seamless?

Hey! I’m planning a Vietnam + Cambodia trip for March and wanted to check with people who’ve actually done this.

I’m an Indian passport holder and plan to get the regular tourist e-visas for both countries. I was hoping to travel between Vietnam and Cambodia by bus, but I spoke to an agent and they said they don’t recommend crossing by land.

Has anyone here done this recently using tourist e-visas? Was the Moc Bai–Bavet crossing straightforward, or did you face any issues?

Siem Reap Apsara Theatre

Hello everyone!
I am in Cambodia right now, and wanted to attend the Apsara Dance. Many people recommended that we go to the Apsara Theatre, instead of any other restaurant. I wanted to find out if they sell tickets JUST for the show? I was wondering if it’s possible to skip the dinner there. I also wanted to know if I can book the tickets on the same day or if it has to be booked in advance?

I’m on the hunt for the best Num Banh Chok (នំបញ្ចុក) and Kuy Teav (គុយទាវ) in Cambodia.

In Phnom Penh, I’ve tried Num Banh Chok at Central Market, Ngon, Kravanh, Malis, Romdeng, and Khmer Noodles Restaurant, plus Meas Family Homestay in Takeo.

For Kuy Teav, I’ve tried Orussey Noodle, (Kuy Teav Sach Chinchram), and 126 Restaurant.

I’d really appreciate your recommendations for places you love, whether upscale restaurants, local favorites, or hidden gems anywhere in Cambodia. I’d love to discover more great bowls of these two beloved Cambodian noodle dishes. Thank you 🙏

Siem Reap Was I scammed by a border agent?

I just landed in Siem Reap and I selected an E Class business visa on arrival at passport control, since I want to extend for 6 months.

The border agent gladly said that is not a problem and that he can, in fact, do the 6 months extension on my behalf. He then rushed me through border control, paying the voa on my behalf and telling me to meet him at baggage claim.

He met me at baggage collection to take the payment for the voa plus 6 month extension which, to my surprise, was $400.

I declined saying that I will just do the extension myself instead and then he immediately dropped the price to $300. I declined because that is still absurd. I said I will just pay for the standard visa on arrival (no extension service) which is $35, but he asked for $50 instead.

I then called him out for trying to scam me and simply paid the price of $35. It is very concerning to know that I can’t even trust the border agents. Is this normal? Anyone else dealt with this?

Finance Cheapest way to transfer money from overseas to ABA?

What’s the cheapest way to send EUR from Europe to an ABA USD account? I have Wise and Revolut.

Withdrawing $800 at BRED cost me roughly €30 in combined fees, while Revolut quoted around €70 to send €1,000 to my ABA card.

What do you use for transfers of $1,000–$2,000? Interested in actual total fees, exchange rates, and arrival times.

Employment Need help with taobao delivery

Hello.

A few weeks ago I order a few things from taobao and they givee this option instead of just paying the delivery instead pay it in Kl/g, I see that it was cheaper and didn't thought much of it so I chose that option and pay the item and the delivery for it to be pack and ship.

It's been longer than I expected it to be so I cheek to see the item and I saw that I need to pay it again, they say it is in the warehouse and for it be shipped I have to pay the delivery again which is a LOT. I was wondering why and what should I do?

Should I just pay the delivery or waiting because I haven't got the call from the warehouse yet but I also think it's because I haven't pay the delivery 🫩
