I just got back yesterday from looking at apartments. I checked out all that I could find that weren't income restricted. Casper has a shit ton of income restricted apartments.
I went to the Preserve at Greenway Park, they have 368 units built in 2012-13. Priced at, $1,600 ish(prices fluctuate) for a 2BR2BA, 1077 sf It had ugly brown carpet. The pics online show it as some other surface. It had the cheap electric cooktop and cheap formica countertops in like an orangish brown. It does NOT have washer and dryers in unit. Buildings have 3 floors with dumpsters for trash. It has a pool, gym and dog wash. You can pay $100 to get a garage. It's managed by Olympus, as is Granite 550.
The Granite 550 has 228 units built in 2016. 1,191 sq feet for $1700 ish (fluctuates) looks better than the Preserve but still has carpet. I think it was a little lighter. It has granite countertops in the kitchen with same cheap electric cooktop and dark brown cabinets. Formica in the bathrooms but it was a more neutral color. It has a heated pool and a hot tub that stays open year round. Washer and Dryer IN the unit. It has a gym and dog wash. Dumpsters for trash. You can pay $125 for a garage.
The Ridge at Blackmore has 410 units built in 2010, 2 BR 2 BA 5180-103 $1,453 1214 SQ Feet 3 BR 2 BA 5150-104 $2,592 1292 sq feet (fluctuates) Ugly brown carpet here too and in the unit I toured there was a smell that was like a strong air freshener. The cabinets were a lighter wood color and I actually liked them better than The Preserve and Granite 550. Cheap electric cooktop and formica in the kitchen and the bathrooms. The kitchen sink was super shallow. Did NOT have in unit laundry. Had a pool and a hot tub but they were both already shut down for the season. Reserved or covered parking $30 and for a garage $120-$185
The Hotel Virginia is also run by The Ridge at Blackmore but I didn't tour because the 2BR only had 1 BA and was too small for me.
The Yellowstone was finished in 2026 104 units, 2BR 2BA $2200 - 2500 (fluctuates) for 998 sq ft. Has 6 floors and one elevator has a rooftop with fire pits. Kitchen and bathrooms have quartz countertops. Glass top electric stove and gray cabinets. It had a lower pile carpet, only in the bedrooms. I toured an apartment on the 5th floor and the wind was so loud and whistled right through it. It was crazy...idk if that is normal but the Airbnb I was in didn't sound like that at all. No pool or hot tubs but does have a dog wash and a gym. Washer and Dryer in unit. Parking under the building for $165 extra.
I'm sure I left some stuff out but they all have websites for more information. I left feeling overwhelmed! Apartments seem a lil run down and carpet seems like a weird choice considering they don't replace regularly and allow 2 dogs in the units. I didn't really like any of the options because I don't want to buy a washer and a dryer and I don't want to pay that much for a poorly insulated building(if that was the issue). I looked at 2 rental homes and one was $1,850 and was prob 100 years old and not updated since the 60's and not clean. Another was $2,100 and had a 2 car garage but was also very dated and not clean.

Thinking about getting into the sport of triathlon and am wondering if there’s a big community for it here? Any local races? Any training groups I could link up with?

Does anyone in town play paintball regularly? I used to play at Attic Airgun Games in Douglas as a kid and played outside by Glenrock a few times, also as a kid. I just played a MILSIM type game last week out of state and had a ton of fun. I’d love to get back into it if anyone nearby is active or wants to start a group.

Hello, as a semi frequent visitor to Casper, I’ve decided to venture out a bit and wonder if anyone has any good dive bar recommendations? I mean the non Buffalo-Wild Wings type places. Small, dark, maybe a little scary dive bars. A girl at the hotel suggested The Horseshoe. What else can I add to the list of places to try?

I have a company party coming up in a little over a month. All my friends are busy so unfortunately they can't go with me. I haven't dated in over 10 years (recently divorced), does anyone know where I could potentially look for a date? Is it Tinder? Please don't tell me it's Tinder. Or does someone have a tall, chubby, nerdy brother I could borrow for the night?

I love it here. I pray every day. I pray for the people who want to destroy my home to back off. I don't have much. But most people don't. But I like it that way. I don't bother anyone. Why don't people understand that Wyoming is not for sale. Miss me with that please lol

Does anyone have hairstylists in Casper that they would recommend? Every time I feel like I have a lead with a hairstylist, they either ghost me or they don't have weekends available, and weekends are the only days that work for me. I just wanna get my hair lightened preferably by someone who specializes with them, isn't terribly expensive, which in this economy everything is.

Does anyone know what they’re building over the river on Poplar and West Yellowstone? Is it going to be a walk bridge or what?

Howdy, I'm looking for a group of artists to hang out with. I really want to start doing metal sculpture and welding stuff, I just don't have a place or people to chill with.
Thanks

An excerpt from a blog:
The Alibi Bar from the outside looks to be a cool, kitchy, schwank bar with a 1940's exterior decor. I saw it my first time in Casper and intended on visiting it when I was all settled in.
However, upon entry you get in and quickly realize it's a dive bar just like the rest. Worse though is that it displays one of Wyoming's biggest problems - alcoholism and meth. Drunk men with no lives looking for fights and "tweakers" unaware of what they're doing, looking for trouble. I walked out of the Alibi Bar and a guy in the parking who was yelling at his wife, starts to threaten her because she "probably wants to go for a ride with me on my motorcycle." He then starts to approach me and I realized, "sh!t! I don't have my gun!" His wife's imploring brought him back to her car and a scuffle (or shooting) did not ensue.
The larger point is that there's a lot of guys, a lot fewer women, a lot of drugs, and a lot of booze. Add to that the men of Wyoming really do view their women as property, and you are probably in more danger at the local Casper bar than you are a bad part of town in a large city.https://captaincapitalism.blogspot.com/2012/12/why-you-should-always-carry-gun-in.html?m=1

Howdy! I'm looking to have a Wojtek pin cast for one of my hats, and I'd like to go through a local jeweler if at all possible. I have the materials I want to make the brass, a ratio in mind, I just know literally nothing about casting or the process of making a mold for jewelry.
Thank you!

i've been doing cosplay/crafting for a little under a decade, and would like to find some more people who are also interested in this kind of stuff.
i've lived in casper since 2023 but i've only met one other halo cosplayer here in town (who i'm already great friends with) so is anyone else here into halo cosplay or is it just the two of us?
im also very interested in getting into filmmaking and would love to have someone in town who's interested in that too.
the yellow, white, and red suits are made by me, green suit is the other cosplayer in town
we will also have a booth at the wyo pop con next weekend so if you wanted to meet us in person we'll be there
edit: i just realized i posted this from a different account, my normal reddit is u/Warm-Acanthaceae4837

Hello! I am moving to Casper and I have been looking at apartments online. Many of them are income restricted and I won't qualify for that.
Are there any apartments not income restricted that have in unit laundry?
Also, what is the situation with the management companies? I've lived enough places to know there are good ones and terrible ones. Thanks!!

Hello! I have the sort of autism that makes me feel a rush better than five thousand jackpot spins when an old piece of shit engine that sould not start, starts, thanks to my hard work which means that I'm also in a really weird bind where I don't necessarily want to beg online for free shit, but simultaneously my addiction really only responds to dumpster dived garbage that by all rights should just go to a scrap yard.
If this sounds like anything you have, shoot me a message and I'll take it off your hands
Thanks!

Casper is my home. I was born and raised here. When I say that out loud, I have an accent lol but my question is... what's the scoop? I don't have news nor do I care to look up news on Google. But is there any new development on the topic of like that data center? Or the possibility of California sinking into the ocean before everybody from there can keep moving here? I'd like to know lol

I’m inquiring for my sister. She needs a ground level apartment, and since she is on SS, it needs to be low income, limited income, or whatever they call subsidized housing.
She is leaving her home because she needs to be close to her doctors. Thank you for all recommendations.
