Discussion A little piece I finished today

Hi everyone! This is a little piece I finished today! Just by looking at this illustration, what kind of story do you imagine it could tell?

The boy is actually playing a harmonica, but the paper is so small (even smaller than A4) that adding more detail with colored pencils is really testing my eyesight! 😂

By the way, I felt the bottom-left corner was too dark, so I thought adding something lighter would help. But in the end, I actually liked those pure white plants even less. I should’ve experimented with the colors digitally first, but I completely forgot! 😅

Any suggestions or feedback are more than welcome. I’d love to hear what you think of it! Thank you! 😊

I Want My Hat Back Pumpkin

My 6yo son had a school book project to pick a main character of a book and decorate a pumpkin representing them. We’re a big Jon Klassen household and he chose the bear from I Want My Hat Back. Just wanted to share his creation and this sub seemed like an ok place to.

It's a rainy day today, and I'm in the mood to flip through a book.

I'm currently working on the second children's book in the "Fofles in the Witch's Kitchen" series. This first illustration, which opens the story, describes today's weather and mood perfectly.

And if you feel like making pancakes with your little ones on a day like this, check out the first book ⬇️

Wishing everyone a wonderful autumn day!

Hi folks! Any recommendations for books that might help a bossy, know-it-all 6 year old process how to take it down a notch?

Picture books or short chapter books welcome.
