Controversial Post Bigotry Showcasing - Community Poll

Hey all. Us on the mod team aren't sure exactly how we should deal with the influx of bigotry showcase content here. We are in agreement that something should change, but we want to poll you all about what you want to see.

We could remove every post containing bigotry (which would align with the current phrasing of our rules).

We could require some additional commentary or flairing (which would follow in the footsteps of the "Political Post" Flair, or otherwise we could lump it into the "Political Post" Flair and make that name more general).

We could leave it as is, and potentially rephrase our rules to carve out an exception (which would align with our general enforcement policy as it stands).

I am locking these comments in advance; this post is going to be a flame war from the get-go. Be respectful. We know that shaming is a powerful tool and we know that shaming on this sub is preaching to the choir.

This will remain up for a few days. You'll have to give us time from when the poll closes to announce anything, I personally want to do some data analysis to see patterns in the responses (I am a data analyst in the real world).

The first interviewer just assumed I was a girl, and I never corrected them, because I really needed the job and didn't want to make waves. And then the next interviewer did the same, and then the hiring manager, and then I got the job. I've been here for 6 months and still haven't corrected them. It seems easier to just go with it, at this point. People are also WAY nicer to me this way so that’s a plus.

Edit: to be clear I am not standard het guy cis. I am cis in that I feel my birth sex aligns just fine with my gender. I prefer to present androgynous or feminine, consider myself to be male, and I like the term “boy” for myself. I don’t consider myself a woman, but it feels just fine to be seen as one.

Edit 2: I always choose not to disclose gender on job applications. Obviously HR saw my ID when signing onboarding papers and they know. They don’t volunteer that info to other employees, though. So I guess it’s most accurate to say “everyone I work with day-to-day”.

Edit 3: in all seriousness I can’t rly be Forcefemmed, I am very comfortable with my level of femininity. I guess I’m kind of tomboyish so maybe skirts-and-dresses femininity would need a lot of encouraging but yeah. I do find the Forcefem jokes funny tho, don’t worry.
