Anyone else dealt with this? It's from an apartment block so we can't tell but we've had one guy argue with us 3 times.
That mystery person throws a firecracker, the crows get scared by the bang, then they come back after a minute. Since there's like 20 of them I'm sure one of them will see the person in the act and remember their face. Or maybe the crows will start to associate this area with danger.

Living near town, a pair of local crows started claiming the roof opposite my window a few months ago.
I decided to try and building some trust, starting simple: I’d tick/click to get the male’s attention, hold up half a slice of low sodium beef from a pack, lean out, leave it on the steep roof tiles, then close the window. He eventually got the hang of swooping over to grab them, pushing off again mid-flight and gliding back the edge of the roof opposite to tear it up and eat it. He started using my window drainpipes for stashing leftovers, he has 3 different stashes here I think. Before long the female saw it was safe and joined in too, they come together most evenings just before roosting now.
I slowly upped the game and got more trust.
I started leaving the window wide open while they grabbed food off the tiles. The male started calling to my window from a church tower ~200m away, he glides right over whenever I open it. Yesterday I introduced a flat green dish and left it on the window itself. I stood just a few feet inside the room while he made multiple trips for a haul of almonds.
Now the slanted roof is no longer a problem, today I’m upgrading the menu to a combo of boiled egg and cat kibble for better nutrition and easier stashing. Next step: sitting right at my desk nearby and acting completely "uninterested" while he dines.
Fingers crossed!🤞🏻

The silent parts are the ones where I'm yapping to them; I'm not particularly fond of how my voice sounds, haha. I've fed these guys around 4 to 5 times in the exact same place, but at pretty random times of day. They're shockingly comfortable with me, more so than any other group of crows I've encountered. They've come within 2–3 feet of me and are especially fond of creeping up close behind me.

This one perches above and calls the others over once the snack dispenser (me) has been spotted.

We’ve been seeing an injured crow in our neighborhood the past two weeks. Right wing is droopy and bird is unable to fly. Currently hoping around and is able to hop into trees with lower branches and move up that way.
Looking for advice on if we should capture and bring the crow to a local wildlife rehabilitation vet. And, if we should, advise on how to capture them. Despite not being able to fly they’re pretty mobile and very wary (understandably) of people.

Hello! I was hoping for help identifying a crow species (or what else it could be if not a crow). I have never heard this call before and was curious! The video was taken in Eastern North Carolina.

I am not sure why this morning there were this many over my house normally I get about 7 max. It was very entertaining.
I've been feeding a couple of crows on my balcony since the spring. The now come every day to claim their peanuts, caw when I'm out smoking, etc.
Now I was wondering if any of you might have an idea of how I could entertain them a bit. I've seen videos of them solving problems to get to food and was thinking about a little game aimed for cats or dogs or something like that.
Any of you have creative and cheap ideas on what I could put out for them to stimulate them, that they might enjoy?

I‘m not deep in the crow game, so maybe I‘m just too much of a noob.

So I work a job where I'm driving around my town a fair bit and I pack a baggy of peanuts with me to throw out to any crows I see hanging around. I'd like to set something up at home but windows have screens so a window feeder is out of the question. What would be a good way to feed them? Do you recommend any feeders that can be placed on my lawn that will also be squirrel proof?

I have been feeding this wild crow for some months now, here on the Oregon coast. As you can see, Nubbin has some struggles due to only having one foot and has a unique way of burying things.
I wanted to ask if anyone here has had success putting out water for wild crows. Normally it’s not something I’d bother with, there’s plenty of fresh water sources around town, but I noticed Nubbin in particular always stays perched on a piece of driftwood near the cliff he calls home and waits for me to approach, unlike the other crows. I assume this is to conserve energy. I’m not sure how difficult it is for him to get to a water source but I’d like to set up something nearby if I can. All the crows avoided the pie tin I filled with fresh water yesterday, despite it being in the same open area where they gladly grab peanuts, and despite putting lots of peanuts near it (they waited for me to throw peanuts somewhere else). I’m going to try a non-shiny receptacle next time, but figured I’d also ask for any success stories.

hey so i’ve read a lot on this sub about this topic, and the conclusion i’ve come to is that the crow was just being playful with me, but i need help confirming this. backstory: i’ve been feeding a murder of 3 for more than a month now and they’re amazing but sometimes i see crows from other murders and i toss them a peanut or two. anyways, this is about another crow NOT in my usual murder, which i suspect is a young one (based on his head shape, it was roundish and also a little fluffy). i didn’t feed him on the day it happened as i already packed my peanuts in my bag from feeding my usual murder and i was on the way home. this youngin swooped real low near my head and i was just like woah, and i looked at him before continuing to walk and next thing i know it flew and swatted me at the back of my head, probably with its claws? it shocked me more than anything, it didn’t hurt but wow was i surprised and i even made a small scream. ever since that day i’ve been scared to go to the park which is really sad because i know my usual murder is waiting for me but i’m really scared this young crow will injure me. i’m scared that i accidentally offended him? was it bc i looked at him when he swooped near me? the only other thing i could think of is maybe hes mad i fed him alot once and then never again? or maybe once i tossed a peanut at him and it bounced and hit his beak? idk but i definitely did not do anything on purpose to injure or hurt him in any way…. help? i would like to return to feed my murder ;(

Hey, just found this reddit xD
After some years of trying to be friends with nearby crows, it happend this year. Sure they not fully trust me after a month but im happy what all happend after this short time.
Startet like always, crow nearby and i put food. All last years food were away but they never came back :( food untouched when replaced it.
Now this year i got all lucky. Placed food when i saw em. Nothing happend. They sneaked in, food taken. Some days flew were i put anyways food and seems they yoinked it. And then i saw 3 of em, 1 is a bit bigger than the other 2. Seems they observing my place from further away.
Started to waving at them with the food in hope they see me xD They always observe and reduce the distance from day to day and at some point i sit in the shed frozen and they fast grabbed the snacks, flew away. Later they stayed a bit or just got on next roof.
Since that... every morning around 7 am they saying good morning (or wheres damn food? what i think) Its kinda nice but they can forget i get up at this time haha.
But the last days were kinda great. Was coming home from store and the bigger 1 just land 2m away and looked at me and walked the whole way up with me. Since that day even the smaller ones when they see me land on our roof or when waving with food they coming.
This Video happend today. Maybe he cant carry that much but normally they let it fall and say goodbye :) Before, this has never happend that they eat right away and ill never would had a chance to stand this near.

My two crows get a rotating schedule that includes raw chicken, raw beef, beef mince, pork mince, cat pate, pure beef fat, chicken gizzards, hearts and liver, scrambled eggs and the occasional carb like potato or pasta. These are all fairly soft or easy to grab foods as I cut them into quick bites. But today I thought I'd try something a bit different. Something to pique their interest, sharpen their beaks on and reaffirm wild crow behavior. I gave them a hefty beef neck bone. A good amount of meat on it but too big to just fly away with. Watching them take turns problem solving for about an hour was definitely a treat for me too. I feel like I learned a little more about them.
