For quite a while Matt hasn’t been focusing on current political news stories the same way he used to. Now it’s alot more dry and instead he only focuses on one or two stories. Apparently some people prefer it that way but there’s something else missing: his signature deadpan humour. He’d crack some funny remarks years prior, typically either using extreme sarcasm to make a point or over the top (but not quite) comparison to make a point. It’s been gravely missed and makes it feel like he’s phoning it in or more likely, not enjoying podcasting as much anymore. His episodes are just boring now, and again, some people do like the informative deep dive nature of them, but I’d like to think many who have been watching him for years, miss his old commentary style.

If I had to guess, he’s trying to put more time into family life as he has 6 kids. Perhaps he felt has achieved a lot with WIAW? and AIR? so to him his job has been done, which is make a recognizable amount of change in the conservative movement.
